You can add your car to your signature & never worry about it again.

dkris42,
You will find most gen 5 stuff located in the factory facts section page 3 and up.

Most of the folks on here are 7th gen and a few 6th here and there.
So when you ask for 5th gen info princess can look up sometimes and find factory info. I owned a 5th gen before my 6th and will be happy to help with familiar stuff when I can.

His problem isn't with the fact that he doesn't know which car we're talking about. I think what he's trying to say is that for instance, I have a sixth gen and I'm looking for a specific problem for my car in Problems & Solutions, you have to go through almost every thread just to find out that the problem refers to a 7th gen. So basically, it would be easier to look at references and problems for YOUR particular gen if it was split up into 4th/5th/6th/7th/7.5 (2006)

I think dkris42 is right, and you guys may be sloughing off his suggestion a little too quickly.

When you visit driveaccord.net and click on "new posts", you will see a list of many current topics with no idea which generation they refer to. Improving the signature of each member won't help clarify the thread topic, and educating 1100+ members how to label a thread properly will never happen.

You can sometimes get a hint which gen or model year a thread relates to by hovering your mouse pointer over the thread title, but to really know if it is pertinent to you, you have to enter the thread and read through the posts.

Now that we are such a booming metropolis of Accord enthusiasts here, and the volume of postings is growing exponentially, I think it is a good idea to have a few more categories to organize threads, and "by generation" is probably the most important...even if it is only 6th and 7th gens.

Not that my opinion matters, but here is a suggestion: add additional categories by splitting the following threads into 6th gen and 7th gen:

THE LAB:
Problems & Solutions
Modify & DIY

ACCORD MAIN FORUMS
Add a 6th Generation Category

Certainly the category adjustment is not a major project, although allocating existing threads to the new categories may take some time...I'd be willing to help if necessary.

I think it is not a bad suggestion...I liked the system we had (separated by gen) when I was on Honduh. I think what would be better though would be just demolishing Problems/Solutions and Modify/DIY, and instead replacing them with 6th and 7th gen forums. I'll gladly help separate the threads, I have a feeling that 99% of them are going to 7th gen lol. I don't think we need a 6th gen category in the Main Forums...unless you have a specific reason behind it?

I guess i just saw the big 7th gen "talk" category, and figured a 6th gen "talk" category would make sense. But thinking about it, what would we talk about that wouldn't fit under "Problems" or "Projects"?

I'm not as interested in serving the various gens as I am in saving time reading threads that aren't labeled with enough specifics... :headbash:

Yeah, I can see the point in the Problems & Solutions section as well as the Modify & DIY for sure. Good heads up Pairallel!

i just think it is a good idea to have every generation not all of us have the newest honda accord my self i have a 94 honda accord and am proud of that car. Also i think it would also drw in more people if you had all the generations because when i am on here i look and see all new cars and that doesn't help me with my 94 unless i read on. I just have my opinion on the matter and think brining in all the generation have their own section will help people figure it out...if that means taking down the problems and solutions form so be it each generation has their fourm that way it will not be a question to which car we are talking about.

:dunno:
