04 Accord 5 spd manual 110k

At approx. 2500 RPM the car will vibrate slightly. You can only feel it in the seat of your pants literally. I have ruled out wheel/tire since I just upgraded from OEM 15" to OEM 16" wheel/tires. No change in the condition when I changed wheel/tire packages.

The vibration is most noticeable under a slight engine load like on a long hill in 5th gear.

I know a majority of you have automatics. A question to any of the technicians out there. ..Have you seen this concern with any frequency? I am leaning towards engine mounts but don't want to throw parts at it.

Thanks

Big - surprised no one has chimed in yet.......so I will !

I'm experiencing a vibration also on my 6MT 2006 Sedan that sounds similar. I can also rule out tires/wheels as I went through the Hunter Road Force balancing.

What may be at issue are a (or both) inner CV joints. FredSVT had some thoughts on this subject.

My instance is speed related as I can replicate it at will in 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th gear, always the vibration at 55-67 mph with a load.

See if you can replicate your vibration in 3rd and 4th at the same RPM or see if you can pin it down to an MPH range with out regard to gear.

I haven't dug further into my issue....I just speed up past 67 mph........

Keep us posted on your findings and I'll do likewise (if I ever get the time to even look under the car!).

I just did an '03 Sedan automatic that vibrated so severely on acceleration both front axles had "dead" spots when moving the inner joints in just the right direction.

It got two new aftermarket shafts and that cured it.

Check your side lower transmission mounts. Check the exhaust system from the engine to the rear of the car to make sure it's hanging properly and not binding.

Have the valves been checked for proper adjustment? It may not seem related, but I've seen stranger.

Will it vibrate if you rev it to 2500 in neutral?

my car aswell when accelerating you can feel a slight wobble in the gas pedal... quite annoying.

i had my car checked recently, mechanic said everything is working fine...

im scared that it IS my CV joints, would they also cause noises during turning if they were worn out or broken?

mike, please let us know if that fixes it for you.
I suppose the vibration would've had to be quite severe for them to offer a replacement. Or was it rather subtle?

sorry for replying so late! yah they replaced the transmission, and inner cv joints. that got rid of shaking at the 27-33 mph and 55-65 mph. But now, I have a shake from 17-23 mph?? After reading threads here, i brought it back and inquired to them about the actual axles. The technician took it for a spin and told me it was just flat spotting of my michelins, however, i think that it is the axles because it is the same shake at just a different speed. I still have 2 years and 33000 miles on my warranty so i'll just keep bringing it back until they fix it... hope that might of helped..

Flatspotting normally goes away after 8-10 miles of driving in warm weather, so I guess you would've figured that out long ago. Also, I've had a few sets of different Michelins on my cars, but have never experienced any flatspotting with that brand. (could not tell the same about GY)

I have the same issue. It occurs under a light load. My 96 did the same thing but never resolved it.

I currently have a slight misfire going on at first start up. Im going to change the plugs and run Seafoam to clean the engine out. The car is right around the corner from 90k miles. Its an Automatic EX 4 Cyl.
