Thinking about installing an aftermarket head unit in the cubby. the adapter to install an aftermarket head unit is here (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120997862/Honda-Accord-Kit.html?tp=3121&tab=review&rvm=ShowAllt) , but i also remembered that honda had an oem mp3 cd player addin that would probably also require a single din adapter in the cubby area.
Has anyone used that oem adapter before instead of the one that i linked from crutchfield? any better/worse quality? or should i just go ahead and get the one from crutchfield
here's a link (http://www.hondapartsdeals.com/product_info.php?products_id=290{11}268) to the honda mp3 cd player add in. dont know what just the adapter din part # is or what it would be labeled as. if anyone can help, thanks!

Someone in the marketplace is selling one. You could ask them how it works.

Honda doesn't sell the mounting kit separately. Save some money and look for the cassette deck option if you want the OEM kit.

You can order the attachment kit separately from any Honda dealer, That's what I did when I installed a double DIN unit in my 07 in the place of the cubby hole. The part # I used was 08B06-SDA-101A. If you check on the install directions for the OEM cassette, CD changer or MP3 players they show the attachment as "sold separately" and the part # listed above so it can be bought. I've used the attachment kit from crutchfield before on my old 03 Accord and I didn't really care for it, I you weren't careful installing it and you pushed it in too far, the plastic clips on the side would snap and it wouldn't sit flush. The honda kit is much more sturdy and fits better

The honda kit is a size with a pocket. If you don't use the pocket you can fit a DD in there.

I just installed an aftermarket HU on my Accord with the OEM adapter, and I had to modify the aftermarket trim ring to fit with the Honda OEM adapter (plastic was rubbing near the top of the OEM plastic adapter). It fits though.

how does it look? could you post some pics if possible?
also, does it come w/ a wiring harness to split the speaker signals to the aftermarket HU?

Let me look to see if I have pics from my other thread I made.

You can view pics there.
It did not come with any wiring harnesses. It was just the trim ring and associated internal braketry.
