The Michelins are just about done at 33K miles, so I'm starting to look for replacements that will last longer. Anybody have anything good/bad to say about Yokohama, specifically the Yoko Avid? Ice 04-09-2009, 09:07 AM OEM Michelin is about done at almost 30K. Already got a replacement lined up, Bridgestone Turanza w/ Serenity Dark Shark 04-09-2009, 09:18 AM Michelin Pilot Sports A/S for the 19's. Kinda expensive but are the best rated tires for all season 19's. They handled well this past winter. Peniole 04-09-2009, 09:54 AM Yok v4s Osiris_x11 04-09-2009, 12:30 PM Got the OE Dunlops (std' on the 8th gen' Accord LX sedan w/ 16" stock-steelies). Only at ~5k miles as of now, and to be quite honest - they look literally brand-new! As they should, because their grip is mediocre, turn-in/steering-response is squishy, road-noise is pronounced at-speed and/or textured surfaces. I assume tread-life & cold/wet grip are the hallmarks for such a tire. . . If my Accord wasn't in essence a comfortable, spacious, and efficient grocery-getter/people-mover... I'd dismount these suckers immediately! :D (looking to get some OEM-accessory HFP 19" rims w/ decent rubber, but as of now I have ZERO storage space for the OEM/stock setup... likely will just have to give them away?!?) Other tires currently being used on other wheels/vehicles in the stable: - Falken Azenis RT-615 - Bridgestone Potenza RE-050A Pole Position - Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 - BF Goodrich T/A Tour All-time fav' tire: Yokohama A022H  Lex 04-09-2009, 04:36 PM Kumho KH16's. On my 2nd set..got about 60K out of the first set. I'm thinking of trying the Toyo Versado soon. I absolutely love them, I had a set of the stock energy's and let me tell you , night and day difference, harmony hands down. kinda expensive though, 120 a tire. accordexlv6 04-13-2009, 10:54 PM Accord: Original Michelin MXV4's (16") Hard. Noisy. Well made. Maxima: Yokohama YK520's (17") Quiet. Smooth ride. Great handling. Pathfinder: Michelin LTX (17") Quiet. Smooth. Long life. Murano: Toyo Proxes A20 (Huge OEM 20 Inchers) Quiet. Nice handling. Can't imagine how much the Murano's tires would cost to replace. I'm sure it's outrageous. But the car looks awesome with 'em! J30A5Refined 04-13-2009, 11:06 PM Lets see what is the most popular right along now. Me? ........................ See signature How can you lump Toyos with Coopers and Uniroyals and needless to say Hankooks?!?! Toyo deserves its own column/row/cell. But alas my tire subsequent to Toyos are these current Yokohama YK 520s right now so it's all good but any tire is better then a Michelin and you can quote me on that. Yes, my tires so far in my 2006 Accord is as follows.. Yokohamas >= Toyos > Michelins AznX TL 04-14-2009, 06:36 AM Yok v4s http://www.acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/goldcup.gif lebomb 04-14-2009, 08:11 AM but any tire is better then a Michelin and you can quote me on that. Ehhhhh, its all subjective.............but, I disagree. I have always had great success with Michelins myself. They were always rode smooth, and lasted a long ass time............one set I had ran 75K. They still had OK tread, but were deteriorating just because of age. Michelin tires are some of the most well made tires period...........Michelin puts alot of technology into their tires, and also have a very HQ inspection before they are put on the shelf. A lot of other tire companies would sell tires that Michelin would reject. Just my humble opinion. Oh yeah, about the Toyo tire deserving its own thread?! Sorry about that..........I just thought about those last few manufacturers as I was building the poll. You are correct.........they deserve their own line. rszappa1 04-15-2009, 05:39 AM Better than a Michelin????? You got to be kidding right..... RinconVTR 04-15-2009, 05:56 AM The past 10 years+ I've been sticking with BFG's. Accord has BFG Traction T/A's right now, and I cant speak highly enough of them. But I like a taught ride and decent corning in my sedans. The OEM Michelins are very different, feeling as if they roll over in corners and definitly a smoother ride at any given PSI. Tread wear on the Traction T/A has far surpassed the Michelins, and continue on. lebomb 04-15-2009, 06:33 AM The past 10 years+ I've been sticking with BFG's. The OEM Michelins are very different, feeling as if they roll over in corners and definitly a smoother ride at any given PSI. Tread wear on the Traction T/A has far surpassed the Michelins, and continue on. The OEM Michelins are OK........if you step up in the line, more in line with your BFG T/As you will see a HUGE difference. Right now you are comparing apples to oranges. Many on this board do that............they say they hate Michelins and love their new Z rated tires. Well, the Michelins that come on the Accord are mid level tires, not even comparable to the upgraded tires that they are replaced with. :dunno: sjlee 04-15-2009, 08:26 AM Better than a Michelin????? You got to be kidding right..... It depends on which tires they are comparing. As lebomb has indicated, comparing a mid or low tier Michelin tire to a top-tier tire from another manufacturer isn't really comparing apples-to-apples. Lex 04-16-2009, 03:28 AM I wanna vote again!!! I just put 4 new Toyo Versado LX's on my '04 (I4). denniswolf 04-16-2009, 03:43 AM Sumitomo Z3 in 19s, excellent value for money malrai 04-26-2009, 09:14 PM Dunlop Sport max on my 19" HFP wheels just got them, can't comment yet.. previous were the stock 18" Michelin STSinNYC 04-26-2009, 10:39 PM Kumho Solus KH-16s on our 03 Accord EX-L (put on by dealer before we got the car at 22K miles).
