I'm trying to locate enough headlight protection film just to do the fogs, since they are down low and prone to breakage. Ebay has some motorcycle kits for $30 (I could cut it to size), but was hoping to get it cheaper. Anyone know where I can find it?

I used it on my WRX fogs and it never yellowed over many years...awesome stuff. It was more than twice as thick as paint protection film.

Can you buy some 3M film to cover it?

The Headlight covers you are looking for are available through Auto Anything.com These are the 3M adhesive types had them on my 2004. Worked Great. Tried using left over material to make fog light covers as well. Found that the bulb in the fog light heats up to point that it will actaually "bubble' the material. These were called "Rock Guard" headlight covers. New company that makes them is Automotive Survival Products, www.xpel.com or Email: info@xpel.com, toll free 1-800-447-9928. I have not installed the new ones on my car yet. I am waiting for reply from company concerning the fog light lens covers. I do not want to run the risk of these heating up on the fog lights and creating a problem.

guess you're avoiding the Xpel (https://www.xpel.com/products/bulk.asp) stuff this time around, huh??? i'm actually still using it because $0.11 a sq inch in a 30 mil, cut-to-fit, kit is hard to beat!!! i just bought extra for when it eventually heats up and chars on me... $10 lasts a looong time!!!

I found that the ones from Rock Guard were even thicker. Put them on my 2004 4Cyl EX-L 5 Spd. And my wifes Toyota RAV 4. I noticed that the plastic headlights remained clear. In my book solved 2 problems.

Try rockblocker.com.....i got their 40mil.clear material for my fogs. Turned yellow/brown after let's say say 6-8 months. I run my fogs anytime the headlights are on. I also have the parking light/fog on conversion. I cut the vinyl to fit under the lip of the lens. I don't know if this caused heat to build up, regardless, the film turned brown. It was tough to remove, so I haven't replaced it at this time. I don't know if cutting the film short of the lens edges would help with heat buildup/ yellowing. Just a thought.

Yup, that's them!!! We had a Group Buy with them over at Acurazine.com... and yes, mine charred up like all the others... cutting the film short around the edges of the fogs does dissipate some heat, but it will eventually take, just like the rest... besides the hopes for a higher temp resistant product, i switched to Xpel because the burn time was just about identical and the bulk pricing was waaay cheaper...

www.lamin-x.com, bulk or pre cut, no yellowing or burning, I've used it on 3 of my cars with no issues
