Well my mom just got an 09 PPM Sedan V6 EXL without Nav. Comparing it to my 08 PPM Sedan I4 EX.

Exterior:
First off I like the lower valences around the car. Much more aggressive. The Fog lights are a very nice subtle touch. On a PPM color the Chrome door handles are a nice touch. Of course the dual exhaust is much nicer as well.
And of course she has the shark fin for the XM radio.

Interior:
My mom had black leather as I have grey cloth. Biggest thing right off the bat is the Leather wrapped steering wheel on the V6 EXL. My EX doesn't have that and it make the steering wheel bigger and more comfy. The black leather is nice. Real nice, but I hate to be the one cleaning it.:) Auto climate control is nice, but is there anyway to run it in auto without the AC on all the time? I know in my Pilot I can run in auto mode and have the AC on the off setting. I couldn't do that in my mom accord.

Ride:
This was the biggest difference right here. When I turned on the engine in my mom's V6 you could tell it was a V6. It felt solid. When I start my I4 its almost like a whine. The V6 is a roar. Then driving wise the V6 is just drives effortlessly. Mine I4 feel like it is struggling mightly next to the V6. The V6 also feel alittle more sure footed then the I4. Maybe that was my imagination.

Both are well suited for what their intentions are. Just thought this might help with ppl on the fence about the I4 vs V6.

Cool review! Y'all are def' a Honda family... :D

(from all that I recall in regards to your past posts stating such)

First off I like the lower valences around the car.The Accord V6-sedan & four-banger models differ in what all, in terms of exterior? I know the V6-sedan has a different front bumper-cover w/ a flared-out lower-lip. Any other notable differences (other than the dual-exit exhaust-tip finishers)?

Biggest thing right off the bat is the Leather wrapped steering wheel on the V6 EXL. My EX doesn't have that and it make the steering wheel bigger and more comfy...I believe a brand-new OEM EX-L leather-wrapped/stitched steering-wheel is ~$125 for the 8th gen' sedan. Not too bad considering a re-wrap in leather & hand-stitching costs ~$250+ from an after-market custom interior/upholstery shop!

What's even weirder is that a brand-new 8th gen' Accord EX-L coupe's OEM leather-wrapped/stitched steering-wheel is ~$60!

Hey Buddy,

The exterior differences:

1. Front and rear bumper lower sections
2. Chrome Door handles (Also make the chrome trim around the windows stand out more)
3. Shark Fin for the XM
4. Mud Guards (Not sure if this was an option she opted for but I know my EX doesn't have it)
5. Dual Chrome Exhaust Tips

The Leather wrap steering wheel is nice, but I can live with what I got. :)

Your mom should have gone all the way with nav. Then she'll have heated seats, gps, voice activation for gps/radio/cd/climate control, rear view camera ready, blue tooth with imported phone book & other goodies.

spikeitaudi... thanks for the insightful reply! I never knew the rear bumper-cover's lower-skirt was different on the V6-sedan vs. 4-banger sedan, in terms of 8th gen' Accord models. I just assumed there was a pre-perforated bumper-cutout that could be removed for the V6-models to incorporate the 2nd exhaust tip!

I do like the V6-sedan's front bumper, I must say!

Your mom should have gone all the way with nav. Then she'll have heated seats...The Accord EX-L sedan already comes w/ "Heated front seats", which is the model/trim-level that spikeitaudi's mother acquired.

I do agree that the optional "Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™" packs a lot of useful/convenient tech' features. It'd be quite appealing for me in some aspects, but more-or-less useless for my own mom'. I can't speak for the mother's of others on this, though. . .

My mom doens't know how to use half the features in the car as it is. She just came over to my house to baby sit the next 2 days and I sat in the car with her for 30 minutes showing her everything.

She has a temp display in the speedo also. Nice touch I have in my Pilot.

I meant as a package, she'll get the whole nine yard.
