Last night he brought the little computer home that's the shop's. They hadn't been able to get all the features to work.... that was a "duh" it needs wireless communication network...which they don't have. Since we do when he was using it on my car it came up with an update. It did it....

BOY, my car was happy today!!! It drove around as if the A/C wasn't going full blast! I was squealing all over the place! There was just enough traffic to amke me need to move from here to there quickly & boy did she! I had to call him & ask what he did to my car.....

I hadn't noticed any problems.....but there's now a burst of energy that I normally only feel when the A/C is off. Of course, more umph makes the brakes feel different too....like they need more time than I'm giving them to stop. But that's OK, I'm happy!!! And so is my car!!!!

He copied the program from the Honda computer so he'll have it when his arrives.

It's not a "bulletin" !! It's an as needed thing.... for rough running.....although mine wasn't. Snce it was hooked up to the computer it did it anyway. The download took about 40 minutes.

Factory upgrade? Remaped fuel maps? Sounds like you just got a little more low-end torque! Don't get too "foot-happy". You might wear down your tires too quickly! :)

Sounds like a good thing whether running rough or not. What do I need to ask for at the dealership?

i wonder if theres an "update" for the I4's... :dunno:

He didn't PLAN to do anything... when he plugged the computer in to check it (the computer, the shop's new handheld) out it connected to our wireless & did the upgrade. It's probably something that's been done at the factory on newer ones. Whatever it changed in the ECU or where ever, has me happy!!

He just let it go...so I'm not sure he even paid atention to what it said... he'd come inside & got on this computer for a bit... ate ice cream.... just let it do what it wanted.

No one had been able to get it to do upgrades at work. It's becasue they weren't in it yet without the wireless there. So today he had to do 2 Civic hybrid's upgrades.

This car is definately goin gto need tires before I'm done!! I drove the 02 for 22 months & it's tires still looked new.... this one had in less than a year...& it ain't gettin' better...
:naughty:

I was all prepared to recieve my very first ticket with the way I was driving... no ticket though....never got caught! I think when/if I do get a speeding ticket the cop will be amazed at my response...after I have a heart attack, I'll probably confess to deserving many more whether or not I deserved THAT one! Not that I'd ASK for more.... :lmao:

I believe this was a V6 only thing.... I searched the Honda site though & the only ones they talk about have codes & mine didn't.

I wonder when the update came out. If it's sometime in mid 2004 (or earlier), then the 2005's probably has it already. My car's pretty rev happy already it just needs a little more low end torque. ;) It takes next to nothing to rev it past 4K and I have yet to let it get over 5k... :)

When your tires wear out, you can get a set of summer tires.. (it doesn't snow in Antioch, right? :dunno: ) The car would drive much better than with the all seasons.

Nope, no snow here....I'll probably go with Bridgstone like we've had on most of our other Hondas. We do have rain & like to have some grip for that. They've handled fine for our weather & driving style & the places we go.

I'm not sure what exactly you'd call the "update" the computer did....a few V6's had a incorrect something in the software that caused rough running & codes. They figured it out, but I don't know when. It could be a '03 issue only... :dunno:

The low end is what's different now...that's why I'm feeling such a difference!

I went out again today....it's still fun! :D

Don't you just love it when you get the new car feeling back again? :D

Most summer tires are actually better than all-seasons in the rain but they tend to wear a little faster and are slightly noisier.

ooooh noise is BAD!! :paranoid:

I get enough tire noise in the Pilot's knobby tires! He loves it. I keep telling him he'll never know when a bearing or something goes out in it!! :lmao: He just cranks up the music!

I don't even know if they sell seasonal tires here.... :dunno: Off-road, freeway, all weather is about all I ever see....

No matter how noisy it is, it's still not going to be as noisy as the knobby tires! :)

If I had a choice, I'd rather stick with dedicated tires (summer and winter) instead of all-seasons.. All season tires are a year round compromise...

When I ride in or drive the Pilot I KNOW I'm on the road!! :lmao:

Makes me appreciate the Accord so much more.... but when she's due for her next oil change (15K in about 1500 miles) she'll get her tires rotated again too. There's still lots of tread.... just want as even of wear as possible.

daburn, fry saving it before you open it....look in the Pit area & there's other things people have talked about with the PDF stuff.

Benji, :dunno: whatever makes the cars happy!

First of all, open one browser, to a page like MSN or whatever your homepage is. (Just not these forums). Go to tools, internet options, select delete files, and check delete all offline content, as well. Then reboot your computer (may be unnecessary step, but why not, it's free!), and try opening the PDFs again. It has worked for many, myself included. There are only a few files I can't open now, as opposed to ALL files before.

HTH!
