I was wondering if anyone has done, or seen a stock location sub woofer(center of rear deck) with a custom box for the 8th gen. I bought a 8' sub to swap, and was thinking of creating a small sealed box that would mount to the underside of the rear trunk tray and drop down enough to mount the sub and have the correct size for good sound. Any thoughts?

its not a bad idea, i haven't seen it on accord but my friend has 2 subs set up that way in his M3. You can make a open end sub box or sealed all you have to do is take you stock sub out and pop the new one in and brill the box up to the back deck. its going to give you a more deeper sound then stock, i would recommend to dynamate the the the deck lid so you wont have that rattle.

Any chance you can track down some pics? I have googled and searched but found nothing as far as sealing the sub in a box.

I am getting closer to getting this done and looking for any input. I plan to mount the sub in the stock location and using dynamat to seal and suround the rear deck around the sub. I want to port the box so I get the most sound out of it. Any thoughts?

if you port it, you will probably need to build a new rear deck cover to have somewhere for the port to enter the cabin. i thought about doing this, but i have NAVI and the navi drive is under the rear deck next to the sub, not leaving me much room for a box.

Thanks, I didn't think of that. I got a few cars at work I car experiment on till I go to it on the GF's ride. BTW Very nice audio set up you have! As for ours, she refuses to have an external amp, so my choices were limited on speakers, till I got a package deal with some included that were excellent choices for what I had in mind.
