so i ebayed one a few weeks ago and i just got around to getting it cut/programmed today, my uncle works at honda so i was just hanging around the bays when he was doing it and we got it to the point where it will start the car, but we werent able to get the lock/unlock/trunk buttons working

am i missing something?

he said usually with honda keys you have to "reset" it after you program, he tried to do this by turning it and pressing lock and repeating, and its supposed to click or something when its reset? but this didnt work with the acura key?

so, is there a different way to "reset" these, or is it just something stupid like the key not coming with the battery?
right now when i press a button on it, the red light does not come on (like on our honda ones), does this indicate that there is no battery?

just wanted to check with yall before i hunt around for a tiny screw driver to open it lol

Make sure you disable the memory seat function by pressing lock and unlock together. After you confirm it has a battery.

There is no need as out cars does not have the functionality.

On an Acura dealer: $82 w/tax and $40/w tax to cut & program. And the only Honda switchblade key is in the Euro Accord. Saw it once at eBay for $160

You will be well advised to finish following 03LXV6's advice and disable the memory seat function now that you have confirmed that the battery is working. I had to do it for mine to work. Even though our cars don't have the feature you need to disable it. I don't really recall why, but you are not the only person to have that problem.

hey all, so that totally worked. once i pressed the lock and unlock at the same time, the red light on the key started to work. but the buttons themselves didnt work, so i did what my uncle said to "reset" the key. I put it in the ignition and turned it to ACC or whatever, pressed lock once and turned it back, and did this three times till i heard a click then i pressed unlock. this got everything except the unlock button to work. so im like %90 there, any thing else im missing guys?
