View Full Version : What take-off tire/wheels are bolt-on compatible?
andysinnh 07-28-2005, 08:13 AM Now that I've returned the aftermarket wheels and am back to the stock steelies/michelins on my Accord, I'm starting to look at take-off tire/wheel combos from other Hondas to put on the Accord at some point. What I'm looking for is first-hand experience of take-off wheel/tire combos that someone has bought and just bolted on their Accord with no mods. Besides the tire height (the tire calculator comes in handy there), the center bore and wheel offset are the most important aspects. For example, some older Hondas/Acuras had 64mm center hubs whereas the newer Accords have a 70mm center hub, meaning that a 5-lug wheel from one wouldn't fit on the newer setup without drilling out the wheels (and I'm NOT getting into that one...).
Anyway, here's some popular takeoffs you see on eBay - so what have folks used that bolt on and work?
- 16" Accord EX takeoffs - no brainer
- 17" TL takeoffs - should bolt on, right?
- 17" TSX takeoffs - tire size is right - is center bore/offset same?
now the grey area...
- 05 RL Takeoffs - bolt pattern seems same, tire height is taller (but may fit), but unsure of offset/center bore
- 01/02 TL/CL Takeoffs - do these have the proper center bore?
thanks much!

BenjiBoy650 07-28-2005, 11:19 AM I'm going by a roundabout method...
I've seen 7th gen EX V6 wheels on a 6th gen. I've also seen TL-S and CL-S wheels on a 6th gen. If they both go on a 6th gen, they should be interchangeable?
CA05LXDriver 07-28-2005, 11:41 AM Stay with 7th gen wheels and you can guarantee zero issues... I went with '05 EX V6 wheels on my LX

That's boring! lol
ffiallo 08-09-2005, 04:27 PM I have a complete set of an '05 EX-L 4 Cyl Accord, if interested just let me know. Email or call me at ffiallo68@bellsouth.net or 305-479-7808
Where are you located.
Thanks & regards,
VTECaddict 08-09-2005, 05:50 PM all late model Honda/Acura 5 lug wheels should fit without a problem...
EXCEPT:
05+ RL, 05+ Odyssey, 06+ Ridgeline (5x120 bolt pattern)
Not sure: NSX, S2000
BenjiBoy650 08-13-2005, 10:18 PM S2000 should be a 5x114.3, I've seen them running around on a Civic. Your main concern with other 5 lug Honda/Acura wheels is width and rubbing.

Just a hunch, but I'm thinking anything a "urinal mint salesman of the year" does is out of the ordinary and not boring. :lmao:

Hahaha I actually made that up.. .but wouldn't that be a cool claim to fame? When people ask me what I do for a living I always think of saying I change the blue things in the toilets :lmao: . I'd actually do it for a raise! :paranoid:
andysinnh 08-17-2005, 07:44 AM Well, after looking at either aftermarket wheels or some take-off wheels/tires for my '05 Accord LX, I've decided to just stick with the steel wheels and hubcaps for the time being. Part of it is economics since we've had some other expenses recently, but the other part of it is that the stock michelins on the stock steel wheels ride like glass on the highway and are wearing like iron. I just didn't wanna mess up the current setup since it's running so well, and I'm actually pretty happy with the Michelins' performance so far.
I still have the winter tire issue, so I'm buying another set of steel wheels to get some snows to put on, and another set of hubcaps to sacrafice to the winter "icebanks" and pot holes. Probably going with another set of Nokia Hakkas (probably without studs this time) - been the best tire I've used.
Someday, when I need to replace the stock Michelins, I may look at a take-off set of tires and alloys, but for now - money talks, and it's telling me to keep as much as I can.

Rogue Two 08-29-2005, 09:30 AM Anyone know if the Element wheels are the same size/offset as the Accords? I have a chance to pick up a set of Element wheels real cheap from a coworker and I would like to use them as winter wheels on my Accord. They are the 16"ers and my online research shows that they are 16x6.5 with a 114.3mm bolt pattern. The only thing I can't confirm is the offset. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
andysinnh 08-29-2005, 08:06 PM Easiest way is to have him/her look at the rear of the wheel - it should have the offset near the wheel size, typically following the JJ code.

mwmcginn 02-21-2006, 08:32 PM Do the new Civic Wheels fit? I notice they are 5 bolt.
BenjiBoy650 02-21-2006, 08:38 PM They should, they are 5x114.3. I don't know what offset they are though.

The offset on the new gen Civic is 45mm.
mwmcginn 02-22-2006, 09:30 AM What is the offset on the standard honda wheels for the accord? Is it the 70 number listed above?

Not sure what the 70 number is you're referring to, but typical Accord wheels have a positive offset of 45-55. The only Honda wheel I've ever seen with an offset of 70 is the old Acura Legend wheels (early 90's).

mwmcginn 02-25-2006, 10:00 AM so does that mean the new civic wheels might fit on the 06 accord since they have that same bolt patern and 45 mm offset.
