I've had water spots on my car since about week 2 of owning my car.. I figured that if I was patient and washed my car once or twice a week (yes even in the winter) and a good wax job would take care of them. I was wrong.. they are all over the hood and about the size of pennies. There is also some on the top of the front quarter panels. I'm at a loss of what to do. If anyone knows anything I can do please let me know. I will post pictures a little later to show exactly what I'm talking about.

ALSO, I don't know if anyone else had this problem but my brake light in the back window ALWAYS fogs up ever since I got my car back in the start of August. I told the service rep. at my Honda dealer where I bought the car that it has been like that since I got it and he said I would have to remove the back window and that they couldn't do anything about it because "There is no way I can prove they are/were responsible".. again, any ideas?

OP,

Do you wipe the car dry after washing the car? If not then don't be surprised with the water spots.

As for the 3rd brake light fogging up, you need to find another dealership, I hope the idiot who give you the story of having to remove the back window isn't suggesting that that is necessary in order to replace the 3-rd brake light? Even if that wasn't what he meant, then Honda is still responsible to sort out why moisture is getting into the 3-rd brake light, it's not as if it makes any sense that YOU would be doing/causing this just for fun.........

Sometimes the dealership can come up with the most rediculous reasons to deny warranty coverage, it's nothing but shameful!

Got all excited, dyslexia man read "Water Sports" woohoo..

Anyhow clay bar and a good cleaner wax should fix you right up. Although, if you have that crappy honda polymer protection on there, they could have screwed up and put it on the car when the car had water spots, now that's embedded in the polymer. If that's the case take it to the dealer and tell them to fix it.

I have some really bad water spots too that I have tried to get rid of for a week now. I used the Mr. Clean Car Wash kit today and it is amazing. First thing is to clay bar and that should eliminate almost all the water spots, but using the Mr. Clean spayer made it look perfect. I didn't even dry the car after and there is not a single water spot anywhere. Best $20 you can ever spend.d

I've owned the Mr. Clean for 3yrs now and it does nothing for me. Even with a new filter there is still water spots after I hand dry the car. Filter lasts me 3-4 washes. I'm better off getting drinking water that goes through the water softener and filters to rinse the car. Rinsing the car with filtered water keeps my cars from having water spots so you might want to give that a try.

Are you getting water on your car from non-treated sprinkler systems?

Wash, clay, seal, cure 24 hours, seal again, cure 24 hours wax. It's worth it.

After the clay bar Duragloss#652 is a good polish to get rid of the water spots. Its very gentle but gets the job done. If you don't want to use a clay bar then this product should still work very well. Gets rid of scratches and tar also. $5 at my auto parts store which wasn't in stock but they ordered it for me.
