: Gas Light not working?

 Wow, it's been a long while since I've been on this website! But once again I'm having an issue, and I'm coming to some of the best on the internet for advice once again! :)

My gas light is having some issues in my dash. Sometimes it will come on while I'm driving, and it is getting to the low gas level. When it DOES come on, if I cut my car off after driving with it on, and cut it back on a while later, or the next day, it will stay off. And then other times, it just won't come on at all when I'm low in gas!

Has anyone else had these issues? Is there an easy fix for this? Thanks!

I had a similar issue with my Integra. Most likely it's an issue with the sensor in the gas tank. To replace it, the gas tank will need to be dropped, which can get expensive with the labor. Since the fuel gauge was still working fine, I ended up leaving it. That would be my advice to you as well.

I do believe leaving it how it is is just perfectly fine to me! XD. But I was hoping there would be a simple fix like a wire or something. Although I have checked most everything but the gas tank, and everything 'seems' to be in order. Although my honda does have a jerking transmission when going into second gear, and then coming out of it and into third, it has been a very good car since I've bought in in october! Unfortunately, I've put over 12,000 miles on it since then. (I have to do A LOT of driving.) I hope it'll last me until the wheel's fall off for the next few years! Next car I get will be a honda, and then I'll buy a truck as a second car, it'll probably be a Honda too. XD.
