Its probably just like the other aux connectors out there that just make the head unit think its connected to a cd changer or sat radio source... Not true USB connectivity/function such as that found in the TSX or Accords elsewhere in the world.

Additionally it says its for Alpine units. To my understanding the US Accords come with Pioneer units.

Did you read the description on the item?

The interface offers MP3 folder and track control along with USB power to the device. The kit includes an additional 3.5mm input and SD/MMC card reader. The interface also allows you to use the original controls for the stereo, even if they are on your steering wheel or stalk.
This is a very simple kit to install, and comes complete with fitting instructions.
Item may vary from picture.

Yup, read the description. Same description many of these units are given. All they do is trick the unit into thinking its a CD Changer or Sat source, which does support text and folder control, but its not pretty...

Here is a similar unit, complete with a video on how it operates with an 8th Gen Accord.

Yup, saw that ipod interface a while back but not interested. USB flash reader is my top on the list.

Ya, I was just using it to illustrate what type of connection it was and how it worked with our radio.

Its a shame Honda didn't include this with the US Accord.

Yup, shame on HONDA for not including USB port even w/ NAV trim.

Yes, saw that thread, but no one (unless I've missed it) has yet successfully installed one, particularly the one that I've posted the ebay's link.

Actually, I've been staying up late looking and debating about the very same interface posted in your link to ebay. Hell, even saved the seller as a favorite. Think I'm just going to wait, have better things to spend my money on right now. :dunno:
