i really loved it and can't describe my feelings about it . all what i can say is(strongest output i have ever seen - whitest color - luxury look like bmw )
i installed it in high beam (9005)
please feel free to ask and post your opinion

accordn17 05-19-2009, 03:02 PM thats gotta be really bright for a high beam.. it will blind other drivers for sure... are there laws there for that?
also, why wouldnt you put hids in the low beam?
Accord Master 05-19-2009, 03:11 PM it looks nice on highs and it wouldn't be working all the time just in case of need more extra light on the roads (travel)
maybe i will trun it to low beam after period of time
TrailerPro 05-19-2009, 03:14 PM I thought the kits converted both high and low beam?
accordn17 05-19-2009, 03:23 PM if you want to do the low beam... you will need the 9006 kit.. the 9005 is only for the highbeam
Accord Master 05-19-2009, 03:26 PM you are right but 9006 and 9005 have the same base shape but diff. size
it won't be a big deal
accordn17 05-19-2009, 03:30 PM save some dough and buy another kit... what time is it over there right now?

Kiribati 05-19-2009, 05:09 PM An HID kit on high beams?
Won't that mess up the ballasts?
:dunno:

:dunno:
It shouldn't. Maybe just the on/off all the time might, but that would just mess up the bulb life depending on what ballasts you have.
portablecow 05-19-2009, 05:14 PM So how does that affect DRL functionality, since the DRL is the High Beam.
mOe tHe mAn! 05-19-2009, 06:26 PM your gonna be blown away when u put a set on your low beams, theres a lot more light output than your noticing right now on the high beam.
Accord Master 05-20-2009, 09:35 AM HID on high beams has no effects on the electricity or even the ballasts.
but you have to wait about 10 seconds until it worms up and gives the right color temp.
changing the color during 10 seconds is amazing. starts with ice blue then turns to cream white (4300K)
v-6 nolo 05-20-2009, 10:21 AM But that defeats the purpose no?
How many times do you put on your high beams on as opposed to flashing them for a sec to see a road sign ect..sit there for 10 seconds to see the sign? Am i missing something?

No you aren't missing anything. There really is no point in having it that way. Unless you want HID DRLs
bruceleroy 05-20-2009, 11:03 AM huh whats the point of this?

Yea, I meant won't it mess it up since HIDs aren't meant to be flashed on/off?
Unless you use them in place of your low beams and keep them on while you drive.
Accord Master 05-20-2009, 04:43 PM ^^^^^^^
the ballast can handle flashing. i had crown victoria 97 before my accord, HID installed in high beams and it had been working in good condition for 2 years so there is no need to worry about how ballast would work in highs.
i have been testing my HID untill this moment specially on flashing on/off very fast
works perfect but i wish there is no warming up
some friends told me that OEM ballast wouldn't take long time to warm up?

Yea, they can handle flashing, but will ultimately shorten its lifetime.

is it just me, or does the insanely bright DRL with stock low beams in ugly yellow look really awful? I vouche for the stock DRL and put the HID's with your low beams.
retrosolutions 05-21-2009, 01:58 PM Looking good! Glad it reached you in a timely manner, good forwarding agent you have.
ENJOY!
hunkytoe 05-22-2009, 02:59 PM OP,
What color are the DRL now? If it works out that they are whiter than stock and have no long term problems it might be a solution (although a relatively expensive one!) to the ugly yellow-tint stock lights
Gosha 05-22-2009, 04:17 PM HID kit for high beams is very very unnecessary
KUNAL 05-22-2009, 04:50 PM ^^^ agree 100% unless its just for looks!
retrosolutions 05-23-2009, 09:26 AM To each their own. Please do not forget every where is not the same as metropolitan North America, he could very well find great practical use of HID high beams in his area.
Even here in Connecticut USA it is rare at night for me to drive anywhere that requires the high beams at all. However we have friends that live out in the middle of nowhere and at times I have been thankful to have the HID installed.

I live in Northern BC and sometimes have my high beams on for half an hour before I see an oncoming car.
I see a point to having HID's in high beams. It's totally functional IMO.
What's the point of a tack-on HFP skirt package? Besides looking good and making your car slower?

Besides looking good and making your car slower?
your point is moot

That's actually the high beam on with the stock low beams (drls arent on when headlights are turned on). I'm guessing the drls arent as white..
I still don't feel this was an efficient use of HIDs...plus if he WERE living in an area where "high beams are needed", why not have HIDs for low beams first? With that he might not even need to use high beams.. >_>

In his defense he ordered an HID low beam kit at the same time, they were just on backorder at the time.
Accord Master 05-28-2009, 07:34 AM back
i was too busy last days
i agree that usually people use HID for low beam
i don't need extra output lighting , 9006 and 9005 OEM standard halogen lights for accord works well
so i use high beam HID or even in lows just for making good appearance of my car and not for over lighting
i hope you get the idea
anyway i turned my HID into lowbeam yesterday
