ajthebouncer 05-19-2009, 05:31 PM hiiiii everyone
I own a 2008 4cyl 2.4 i-vtec accord coupe :D
its agreat ride but i'm thinkin about boostin it up a bit
increasing horsepower
and i'm new 2 the cars world and i know nothin about cars
so if anyone would advice me I would be greatfull
see ya
TrailerPro 05-19-2009, 05:38 PM Are you serious? If you really want more power, don't buy a 4 cyl. economy car. Buy a sports car or muscle car. Even a v6 accord since your so "new" to cars, it would most likely feel like street bike to you. Good luck trolling.
rockstar143 05-19-2009, 06:18 PM Yeah...if you're new to the car world...the 2.4 liters should feel like a monster!
I started off with a 1986 Ford Taurs Station wagon in 1996 and have upgraded car and HP ever since!
Hm, increasing horsepower. Aftermarket intakes and exhausts are where you want to start. Although gain isn't significant and you probably won't feel the difference. You'll hear it though.
Honda247 05-19-2009, 09:43 PM Since the I4 are K24 and the Civic SI are K20, can the Super Charger fit in a I4 Accord? Just a thought. :dunno:

I don't think so. The engine bay size would present fitment problems, and just the fact that they aren't the same engine.
Honda247 05-19-2009, 10:14 PM ^ Cool. Like I said just a thought..... Thanks.....
ajthebouncer 05-20-2009, 12:16 AM Hmmm .. I didn't mean that i wanted to turn my car to a racing car
I just want to make it better and unique XD
thanx for replyin guys
v-6 nolo 05-20-2009, 05:03 AM when you used the word "boost" most people equate that with a turbo/supercharger which is ALOT of work, if it can even be done, which is one of the reasons you got the replies you did. In reality, there are next to no power mods for the I4 or V6 for that matter. Start small with intake/exhaust, and as more comes out you can keep on adding. Every little bit counts with performance mods.
ajthebouncer 05-20-2009, 11:19 AM aha .. thanx man
starbai 05-20-2009, 11:27 AM stuff will definitly come out eventually. but as of now thers not much.
Dont let people discourage you from making your car quicker if you want to.
Just beacuse you bought an accord and not a camaro, doesn't mean you can't add a little pep to its step.
checkZvtec 05-20-2009, 02:35 PM well put starbai, people are so negative here. what you can do OP is reduce weight & replace heavy parts with lighter ones. starting from the wheels. you can capture a lot of weight reduction getting lighter rims on all 4 corners. then, better exhaust, then better intake, then better engine components when they come out i guess. I asked the same question you did last week. i could not get far either. most of the people who comment here just do not know. this site is geared towards complaints, DIY simple mods, and general Accord drama/talk. I would check out Temple of Vtec, or some other performance based site. any site that gets technical about the engine would be great, I can't think of any other off the top of my head. but, do a google search. goodluck. let me know if you find something good too.
Gosha 05-20-2009, 02:42 PM get a v6
checkZvtec 05-20-2009, 02:54 PM how many times has someone asked how to make the i-4 perform better and someone say get a v6??? 1250 some posts and it doesn't get old to you?? here i see you made a post on this thread. knowing you are experienced I opened it again to expect some knowledge or information. something concrete or viable to contribute to the forum, but no.
ajthebouncer 05-20-2009, 03:59 PM if I had the money i would get a V6
thanx checkzvtec .. if i do find somthin i'll be happy 2 tell
i'll c wt i can do about the rims, intake and exhaust .. i read about a fujita intake 4 my car , is it good ?? is there anthin better??
TrailerPro 05-21-2009, 06:57 AM Forgive me for being realistic and honest. If you want a significant gain in HP and Torque, you would need to put a supercharger, nos, or turbo on this car. The internal components of the motor weren't built for this kind of abuse, and will fail rather quickly. The aftermarket stuff that is available -- intake, exhaust, etc. --won't give you very much gain at all, and like others have said, it would be more of a sound change than a boost in HP.
Now, you could tear the motor down, install some better rods, flat-top pistons, a bigger cam, deck/port the heads, increase the valve sizes, bigger injectors, reprogram the ecu, and dump some nos in there and you would see a nice gain in HP...for a little while. :P
arazaka1 05-21-2009, 07:22 AM CT- Engineering is developing a supercharger for the 2009 Acura TSX which shares the same 4cyl engine as the Honda coupe. They stated that it may be a possibility to apply the supercharger to the Honda, but there has been no decision made for an actual Honda Coupe kit. But the CT-Supercharger is not cheap by any means, but that is what the near future has in store for the moment, otherwise, intake, exhaust and drive...
ajthebouncer 05-21-2009, 07:41 AM great news
