Any suggestions before I embarq this quest on the memorial w/e? I will start w the Accord then move to the Pilot...
Honda247 05-20-2009, 05:42 AM Can you do my Accord? lol
Make sure to post pics after......
Accordriver 05-20-2009, 05:53 AM Why don't you pick up Meguiar's deep crystal (three bottles for each stage)? I really like it, but I'd like to see what others think..
rockstar143 05-20-2009, 07:36 AM Doesn't that seem a little overkill? Don't some of those do the same thing? I might be wrong. But wouldn't want you to spend too much time for nothing.
Dreamacre 05-20-2009, 07:38 AM Get some NU-Finish.
It will protect for a year!
The guy on TV told me so!

you should get your boys an old Honda Z50 so much fun its wrong
RTexasF 05-20-2009, 10:13 AM NXT Tech Wax is a sealant, it contains zero wax. Sealants should go on prior to wax. The wax should go on 12-24 hours after the sealant has been wiped down and kept 100% dry. Read the label on the "cleaner wax" to see if it actually contains wax. If not then it can be used prior to the NXT.
If you can do an exchange I suggest wash, clay, NXT, then ONE wax of your choice.

SkylessKnight 05-20-2009, 01:38 PM You guys are nuts...
I used Meguiars Clay, then wax... Worked excellent. It rained the next day, and the water beads were perfectly dropping off the car...
I bought some Turtle Wax stuff, says it's wax, and it's a clear liquid. Can be applied in direct sunlight... Haven't tried it yet, I figure I'll try it one of these days... but the bottle was $20... Better be some good stuff.
Does anyone know if you can "over wax" a car?? Is that not good?

Actually, I'm not going to use everything on 1 day. I'm looking for the perfect combination
Are you doing this by hand?
Yes
rafael your shit is gonna hurt when you're done lol good luck
I expect not

Thanks for the advise! This is what I was looking for. I'm gonna keep all da stuff since where I live they are reparing the black top, so on the wheel area gets kind of messy if I dont keep on top of it. Also the Pilot is new so I can go easy on her while the Accord needs more pampering

Look at the contents, does it contain wax? True carnauba wax can be applied 2-3 times in a row. After that it is a case of diminishing returns. Clear liquid? I'd be surprised if it contains any carnauba at all.

I wonder if that's why some waxes smell so good (Fuzion, for example)

Ahaha it is the benzenes in it... hmmm wouldn't sniff it too much.. I will make you sterile :(
RTexasF 06-04-2009, 04:42 PM I will make you sterile?
Sparky 06-05-2009, 02:16 PM I find the Tech Wax NXT in paste better than the one you got, but both are great.
Have fun!
07graphiteV6cpe 06-05-2009, 02:44 PM I have been using the Gold Class liquid with great success. Easy on and extremely easy off and really highlights the metalflakes in the graphite metallic pearl paint.

rafael73 06-13-2009, 12:41 PM Update:
First of all, Thanks RTF. I follow your advise. I know this is not the Accord but I used the Pilot as a guinea pig for the project. I didn't took pictures when she was dirty but attach is the result after doing the following:
1. Wash it with Gold Class and Dry it with the Absorber. BTW water bedding results. Could be the previous job?
2. NTX. Didn't consider the clay since the car is new and I used TW ICE day after I got it.
3. Gold Class Liquid Wax. Didn't wait the 12 hrs as tomorrow the Accord will be done and wife wants the SUV. Don't know if that matters.
In the shade... Look for the mirror effect on the vehicle. Not Photoshopped!

I'm not the pro, like Milan but the old & cheap Sony did the job...
RTexasF 06-13-2009, 01:04 PM Looks like your hard work paid off to me, well done. That's a lot of real estate to wash & detail.
rafael73 06-13-2009, 01:26 PM Thanks!
I did the interior as well but didnt took pics. Zymol Cleaner, Zymol Conditioner and then Meg Gold Class on the leather. Black Magic on the plastics...
RTexasF 06-13-2009, 04:07 PM I don't know what your avitar represents but it does not sit well with me......not one bit. I try to tolerate all but this is pushing my button in the wrong way for what it's worth. My thoughts are that if it grates me then others are bothered by it also. I am not judging you, I'm only saying that your avatar offends me. I have held this back until now........I can no longer stand it so I speak my piece. Change it or not, it is your call. I'll not mention it again. Perhaps it's meant to be funny and I just don't get it?
rafael73 06-14-2009, 04:55 AM Avatar changed. At high school guys used to called me "terrorist" back in PR because I dated the most ulgiest girls on school. Thought it was kind of funny...
RTexasF 06-14-2009, 05:00 AM Thanks for changing it, much appreciated.
