It does bother me because I feel like I am giving up, but I was biting off way more than I could chew. That doesn't mean that I won't continue to study it during my free time (if such a thing exists). It brought down my GPA way to much. And if I had to sit through another chem class ....

Alan is very insightful. He always offered me words of encouragement. I do have to say though that I appreciate Broccoli more as a professor.

Not a fan of 187 page reports.

I hope I am not the laughingstock of the group, since my Accord was formerly badged as a 745Li. It's a long story, but since that time, I put all of the Honda emblems back on save for one: the steering wheel badge: it is a custom hand-painted BMW badge with clearcoat applied for protection.

Still, at 5.5 years old, my Accord still looks brand-new and I'm proud of that!!

Yeah I switched the handles out about 2 months ago. I certainly like the look of them compared to the chome. It was a cheap mod to do and looks good. I think the chrome trim around the windows is plenty no matter what wheel choice you go with.

It would be really helpful to provide directions from S Post Road to the lot on Paxson Road. Hey it's really easy to get to...when you are on Hughes you make a left into the park (Paxson), you can't miss it as you'll see the Mercer County Park sign, then drive up till you see an opening on your Right for the soccer fields...pull right in.

If we go that route, may I suggest a train of Accords (following each other) that are coming from northern or central NJ? It would be a pleasant surprise to see these Accords of various Gens on the highway!!

(I see that the official list says 40 some accords are coming, but then there are friends of people coming, boyfriends, girlfriends whatever.) Anyone know how many PEOPLE there will be? I'm just trying to figure out how many soda cans/water bottles I need to pick up. I was figuring like.. 3, 12 can packs of Pepsi, Sprite, Coke.. maybe one or two 12 packs of Route beer?? And then 3 cases of water.

Lucky you, it took us over an hour to cross the GWB (2.5 miles in an hour is not cool), so the total drive was like 3 hours home.

Now that I am a youth instructor for the NJ State Police, I want to share my first interaction with them about two years ago. During the sunny but chilly afternoon of Christmas Eve 2006 on my way to a Christmas party, there was light traffic as I was merging onto a major highway.

However, before I knew it, the elderly driver in front of me on the on-ramp was slowing down (and nearly stopping) as I was fast accelerating towards her. Once I noticed this car in front of me nearly stopped on a highway on-ramp, I hit the brakes hard and the ABS activated. (It was one of the few times I actually hit the brakes hard, as I don't like the notion of leaving brake dust all over the wheels!) The mapquest directions, laying on my front passenger seat, quickly slid across the leather and onto the passenger floor!

There was no way I could safely reach them as I was driving, so when I merged onto the highway, I immediately pulled off to the shoulder and stopped the car, putting it in Park, and activated my hazard lights momentarily. Before I could reach over to the passenger floor to pick up my directions, a young New Jersey state trooper, with lights flashing, pulls up directly behind me. My mind was racing. Should I unlatch my seatbelt and reach over to get my directions, or should I wait? What is going to go through the mind of the trooper if he sees me through my rear window bending over to the passenger side of the car and struggling to reach something?! HAHAHA

In this case, my mind told me to wait. Good idea. I placed my hands on the top of the steering wheel as waited about a minute or two as he then walked up to the passenger side of the car and lowered his head so he can fully see into my car's interior. With him observing me, I rolled down the window and asked if there was a problem. He saw me stopping on the shoulder of this highway and wanted to know if anything was wrong. I responded by letting him know my directions fell on the floor, and I did not feel comfortable continuing to drive and trying to pick up the papers at the same time.

Before he walked back to his patrol car, I asked him a simple question. "Do you know what kind of car I am driving?" By this time, the trooper had a confused expression on his face as he raised his eyebrows. :paranoid: He then stood straight up and walked to the rear of the car, looked at my trunklid and wheels, returned to the passenger side window and lowered his head (again), momentarily glimpsing the emblem on my steering wheel, and said, "You have a nice BMW here." :thmsup:

I grinned at him and said, "This car is not a BMW! It's a Honda Accord that I rebadged to get other drivers around me smiling! I simply rebadged the car as a BMW 745Li." I was still grinning broadly. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The trooper's expression was priceless! He was laughing so hard, and my grin turned to laughter too, and he said, "You made my day!" :thmsup:

Talk about all that food haha, guess people werent hungry. It was nice seeing your car in person with the drop, actually makes the stock wheels look better, it will give me some ideas when i decide to drop mine.

I also just crashed after i got home and i so burned up being under that sun, who could have knew it would get that hot. If not for that slight drizzle I think we all could have stayed a little longer, people got scared off for some reason lol

I have made some new friends today!! Amazing day, and I'm sure I speak for everyone too.

My friends actually encouraged me to enter a statewide campus comedy competition (funny students from 22 NJ colleges competed), and I never did stand-up before. I was so thrilled I came in second place behind the winner!!

Unfortunately, I was basically the most "stock," unmodified, car at the meet (except for my cool GPS mount), but I hope it was better than showroom-new condition for its 65K miles!! :notworthy I am certainly proud to be a part of this elite, passionate group.

Thats was Gen7 Mega Meet, IDK, we never really got that off the ground this year, we couldn't commit/find a common date, and its already mid-June so the window is dwindling fast for this summer...

If I go one of these Wednesdays soon I'll let you know. I'd love to get there around 8ish when the sun is going down and get a couple of nice runs in. After 9 when it's dark...dare I say 13.7 @102 :biggrin:

Good idea, Jarrod!! I propose a beach meet along the Belmar NJ boardwalk in July! It's easy to get to for those coming from north or central Jersey and even eastern Pennsylvania. The major interstate, I-195 East, ends in Belmar too. Besides, I'm a lifeguard there and need some guys to keep the girls off of me so I can breathe! haha

What about the 7Gen GPS setup that I showed to you, Jarrod? It's a Kuda leather GPS mount designed specifically for our Accords (www.kudausa.com then click Products), and it's wired directly into the ignition too!! It was a total of about $570 installed, and that price INCLUDES the purchase of the Garmin nav unit.

It's a Pioneer Avic-D3 (since replaced with a newer model I believe), I used the Honda double-din attachment kit (I have the part number somewhere if you'd like I can try and dig it up., as for the unit, took some work to get it perfect and I trimmed the bezel included by Pioneer. I used a hi-lo converter in to keep the factory head unit on and functioning for Climate Control reasons only (plus it looks like crap if its just off). I also have two 8" TFT monitors in the sunvisors running as output units only for Video, etc. I paid a buddy at a car audio place to lock/disconnect the motion gyro in the unit so the unit doesnt cut out when driving = video all the time :)

Dr Paul......I thought about your set up but I am looking for something more OEM......that just fits withing the dash itself.......so that means doing something like kev or finding a factory navi system..........I wonder I found a 05 honda accord hybird nav for sale....I wonder if I can integrate it into my 03.......hmmmm.......well after strut and sway still unsure which direction I want to go next either rims......or a navi unit mounted in dash with aux input?? decisions decisions........

I agree that the Kuda GPS mount does not look integrated but it was the best GPS placement solution that resembles OEM.

An alternative solution I almost went with, and later discarded as too complex, was a 7" Pyle screen that fits within the upper information panel of the OEM navigation Accords. You push a button on the top of the screen, which is retracted into the upper info panel, and this screen would motorize out of the slot and flip up. When not in use, you push another button and the process repeats in reverse, and the modification still makes our dashboard look realistically OEM. The only downside was you need a dremel tool to cut away a small portion of the inner vent channels on top of the dashboard in order for the modified upper info panel to fit into our non-nav Accords, and I just didn't want to get my car modified in this manner. As you saw on Sunday, I am proud to have a pretty much stock Accord, fully dealership maintained, and I want to keep it that way. :thmsup:

A fellow DA member (Nexson) created this panel/screen for me (he is excellent with fiberglass and I'm sure that other members can comment on his awesome talents). :notworthy Mine is actually among the last Pyle screens that Nexson personally made for me before the company stopped producing the screens two years ago. Unfortunately, it is still boxed up and sitting on my shelf for the past two years, and I am actually thinking of selling it in the DA classified section soon. I paid Nexson a total of $440 for this unit (which is still brand-new and the shipping box unopened since I'm sure it is protectively and carefully packaged), and I am actually thinking of selling it for $350.

The only question that I have, and other members can chime in, is that I have a 7Gen sedan, and you have a 7Gen coupe. If the upper info panels are the same between the sedan and coupe, then this would also fit in your car, Jarrod. I'll be willing to allow you first dibs on this screen/panel if that is what you are searching for. :yes:
