There was a 3rd Gen Accord meet in Maryland that I was going to attend. It really wasn't that far to get to it, but overall I think it was close to 9 hours of driving as we did cruise around a lot. So checked all the fluids in the ole' 89' Accord and took her for the trip. Not a single hick up on the way there and back. I got 34mpg with the windows down, so with them up I could have even averaged much better.
Open road in the country.

Overall it was a wonderful day for a mini meet. Cruising around was fun, along with chatting with fellow 3rd gen owners. Gotta love your Honda, always there for ya.

Russiankid and All:
OK, Folks. I'm having an ORGASM!
Just SEEING those pics of other Gen Three cars puts me "in the mood," if you catch my drift! :naughty:
I got so excited, I went outside today, washed my "Old Girl," then waxed the hood, roof, and tailgate on "her." Weather permitting, I'll finish up by waxing the sides tomorrow. Then, I'll detail the entire interior! :D
In my (now) 56 years, I have owned many cars. (GM, Ford, Chrysler, you name it...) My '86 Accord is UNEQUIVOCALLY the finest car I've ever owned...or will likely EVER own! While I have found it a "high maintenance" car, being somewhat difficult to work on, and (many of) the parts rather expensive, when it is mechanically/cosmetically "in shape," to drive this car puts a JOY in my mind and heart I cannot express, as well as I can command the King's English!
I recently dropped $40.19 on an OEM Honda Accessory oil filler cap (billet aluminum, polished) Honda P/N: 08999-BOC-100. Sure adds a very nice touch to the (cast-aluminum, "LX-i") valve cover!
(Don't frown. It also fits those of you with "DX" and "LX" models who have stamped-steel valve covers! :) )
Another oil filler cap you may care to consider is that used on the (JDM) Civic/Integra "Type R." P/N: 15610-P73-J01. But you'll have to be lucky enough to find one on Ebay...or elsewhere...as they are (to my knowledge) no longer available from HMC.
I LOVE Gen Three Accords!!!

Thats Maryland roads actually. And I love the 3rd gen Accords as well. Cheap to insure, maintain, and can't beat the gas mileage.
