: brake conversion?

has anyone tried or heard of taking the Brembo setup that's on the TL-S and putting it on an Accord 6 speed?

I've already got moderately warped front rotors at 15k. I was hoping Honda was over this, my '95 GSR was a brake warping monster as well.

I've looked into the parts, price wise it would be much less expensive than buying a Brembo GT kit, which more than likely would require a wheel change.

Some details I haven't been able to find, are the front knuckles the same for the std car vs a Brembo equipped? If so, then will the calipers just bolt up?

I know I'd need 2 calipers, pads, rotors, hoses and bolts.

Why not try aftermarket rotors instead, maybe powerslot or something? I think in general the problem with Honda's warping rotors is that they are just designed to run hot. Also, Brembo parts might be expensive to replace later down the road.

the parts aren't that bad coming straight from Acura parts, around $1200 with everything, if they fit. The most expensive parts are the 4 pot calipers which at 360 list a piece isn't too bad, considering.

I've tried both drilled, drilled and slotted and just slotted on the 'teg, drilled powerstops lasted about 20k, warped, I have my own lathe and was able to machine them. That lasted about 7500 then warped so bad they were junk.
The slotted and drilled didn't last but around 5k and potato chipped again.
The slotted rotors were ok, but NOISY.

I don't think it's that they run hot, it's that Honda uses abnormally thin rotors for the size of the vehicle. More than likely to keep the unsprung weight down which makes their cars have much nicer turn in and suspension control.
Most cars in this size range have somewhat thicker rotors. I feel the overall diameter is ok, just thin.

I have Powerslot on all fours on my sedan with Hawk HPS pads & they are quite! A little dusty that OEM's but a lot better in stopping power. I have already 4.5k on the brake setup & so far i've been very happy with it. :D
