Darth Do'Urden 06-05-2009, 06:56 PM Sounds like misuse....
=P
But seriously...I haven't had the problems with my brakes that others are reporting. Isn't there a TSB on this?

superballz00 06-05-2009, 07:09 PM Did your pads wear out after 2000km or 400km? Either way the pads must be in constant contact with the rotors.
adrammelech 06-06-2009, 04:24 AM ^^ my pads wear out after 2000 km
ive asked honda and told them is this normal for a car to wear out that fast they were like no but thats just a miss use
then i was like i want to change my breaking system
he said if u did this you are out of warenty
monty 06-06-2009, 04:25 AM you probably ride the breaks way to much

So you only have like 1200 miles on it and rears are shot ?
What model do you have and is it 5AT or MT version.
adrammelech 06-06-2009, 06:29 AM yup rear breaks fade out by 2000 km
its 08 i4 5at
npolite 06-06-2009, 12:03 PM I would recommend that you have them looked at (and pay if you have to) just to be sure there is nothing wrong with the calipers. There is no way they should be worn after 1200 miles but if everything checks out, I would say you are riding your brakes.
09^CBP^6MT 06-06-2009, 12:51 PM Something is wrong for sure. My guess without looking at anything, (and assuming your not doing it to yourself j/k lol)....ebrake out of adjustment? Maybe a quick check to see if anything is dragging or out of adjustment is in order. Put the car in N and see if it will roll/coast easy. One way, get it rolling to 5-10 mph or so and put it in N to see if it coasts, or pulls either way. If it coasts easy, do it again and see how much travel you out of the ebrake get before it stops the car and check it against spec. Maybe it is the source of problem since it is only the rears?
misterbear 06-06-2009, 05:30 PM which foot do you break with? If its the left try switching to only using the right foot. I've seen this remedy many people with the same problem.
adrammelech 06-06-2009, 06:34 PM they've found out whats the problem
the thing that hold the break pads kept jamming to the break disk but not alot so it kept wearing out the pads

Just like I suspected. Tell them you want to be reimbursed for the brake pads since there was a problem with the car causing them to wear out.

You couldn't "feel" this while driving? That's crazy. I hope they do reimburse you for the breaks you had to pay for.
adrammelech 06-07-2009, 02:00 AM ^^ no it not really its not noticebale at all

You think you can be more specific as to what the problem was ?
Others might have same issue but just to a much lower degree.
Here list of what I can think of, maybe you can find out or you know.
1) piston in caliper not retracting/frozen (also possible handbrake adjustment to tight)
2) Caliper not sliding on the 2 pins properly (bad pins/lack of lube)
3) inner pad sticking in bracket, to tight fit or bad shims.
As I said above this might help others to look if they run into lesser degree of this problem.
npolite 06-08-2009, 07:51 AM Better yet, if the OP can post what is written on the receipt that would be the best as we can truly know what was fixed.
And not to bash the OP but it is brake, not break.
