jkcheng122 06-06-2009, 05:45 AM car looks naked with full debadge!
Looks like the H on the back is still there, just painted black.
Not feeling the rims either.
lpaudio2 06-06-2009, 06:06 AM I did the grill paint on my volvo, same issue with the highway pit. What I finally did that lasted better was sand, prime, two coats of krylon krytech, then I did two clear on top.
BillyR06 06-06-2009, 06:17 AM
looks great man LOVE the front emblem and nice tinted taillights...i want some coilovers as well but Im gonna have to wait if TEIN ever comes out with one for I4 some ppl say the v6 coilovers fit and then other ppl say its not a guarantee...i would love to get megans now but i remember reading something on here that they bleed during the winter is that true?
did you tint your taillights yourself or had a pro do it?
Danielc409 06-06-2009, 08:36 AM I'll agree those rims are hideous in my opinion. What size are they? Doesn't seems like it fills enough of the fender well.
But good work, I know I have a lot of pride in the little amount of work I've done to my ride so I know how you feel.
nighthawkcoupe 06-06-2009, 08:48 AM Car looks great- what % tints do you have on the rear quarter windows?
morcheez 06-06-2009, 09:19 AM love the slammed look ..just seems the wheels look wayyy small...im guess 18"s...with that lip they look like 16"s imo
Htowncoupe 06-06-2009, 10:41 AM not crazy about the rims nut pretty nice car man when u repaint the H in the front u should clear coat it so it doesnt chip like that and u can get a gloss or matted finish depending on what u want
u need some bigger rims. those 17s aren't doing it right when ur slammed like that. doesnt look that good
Kiribati 06-06-2009, 12:13 PM Yea, the lip on the wheels make the wheels look smaller.
But it looks sick when it's slammed.
chaqui74 06-06-2009, 02:31 PM I like how the drop looks . Need bigger wheels to finish it .
suckiteasy 06-06-2009, 07:31 PM Love the look bro ; but the wheels loook TINY . lol !
xxDaJackalxx 06-06-2009, 10:18 PM With everyone else. Slam looks sic, wheels look small. I do like that I'm no longer the only one to do a photo-op with a BMW 3 series in it. :)
08coupe23 06-06-2009, 10:52 PM Little low for my taste but thumbs up man!

I did the grill paint on my volvo, same issue with the highway pit. What I finally did that lasted better was sand, prime, two coats of krylon krytech, then I did two clear on top.

I'll agree those rims are hideous in my opinion. What size are they? Doesn't seems like it fills enough of the fender well.

-GT
I have a custom exhaust and it is an I4. Sounds pretty good i'll post a video up soon since i haven't taken one yet but i'll get it up here in time. I got it done for about 330 for exhaust and installation.
rockman 06-08-2009, 02:51 AM -I painted my H(front) & it chipped---I used a BLACK MARKING PEN to touch up the chips & it worked just fine....
mystick6 06-08-2009, 06:22 AM Im feeling it. Rims and the drop is sick.
MSchu 06-08-2009, 06:50 AM it's the 225/40 that's making them look so small
starbai 06-08-2009, 07:16 AM i love the slammed look! its awesome!
But the wheels are throwing it off majorly. Not the look, but the size, the back espically looks like it doesn't even belong on the car that its there temporarily or something.
Ryanjay.adaya 10-10-2009, 11:16 PM rims and drop looks hella clean...good shit man!
nghanzo 10-12-2009, 02:21 PM you can go lower...:paranoid:, but it looks good, I've always love those wheels
tbone587 10-12-2009, 05:19 PM looks really good, but the rims dont look right like many said. Also, if you tinted your windows it would look a million times sleeker
belgradeboy89 10-12-2009, 06:29 PM sick e36!
rockstar143 10-13-2009, 04:18 AM Very nicely done.
I'll be installing some h&r springs for my gf's 8th gen soon...looking forward to it being dropped...i would have preferred some coils for her...but she wasn't gonna spend the money on that and she doesn't know how to drive a car that low anyway. plus, I'm going to try and get away with just an alignment and no camber kit for now.
Congrats on a great looking car. Wheels are nice...especially if you love them>!
Furple 10-13-2009, 04:28 AM lol, damn, you did all that with a scissor jack??????
rockstar143 10-14-2009, 08:17 AM when there's a will...
BlueBlahBleh 10-14-2009, 08:20 AM Very nicely done.

If she doesn't want to pay for the coilovers now, will she be willing to pay for the struts when they go out later? Tein SS are adjustable, so they don't have to be too low for her to drive.
rockstar143 10-15-2009, 07:09 PM she averages 10K miles a year...I was doing 25K a year on my stock shocks and h&r springs on my 04 EP and they were fine. We'll go kyb adjustable in the future if she needs to replace them. I do the labor anyway so it's not really an issue for us.
About the Tein SS...that is what I have on my TL...so yes, I agree...but I also paid $1150 for them as opposed to the $240 for her springs. Either way, if you're gonna get coilovers...you might as well set them where the car looks great (or stick with springs)...which in her case will be too low. She has like 6 inches of clearance right now to begin with (stock height) and the front bottom of her bumper is ALL scratched up.
Thank you for the suggestions though.
J.
PS...your avatar makes me miss my BOM Type S...had megans on that...damn were they rough...they rode harsher than my h&r's on stock shocks on my ep previous to that.

Well that makes sense then. Thanks for the info! :)
I hear ya on the Type S! I miss mine too, lol. The 6-speed shifter was so slick and the ones with low mileage appear to be holding value almost akin to a collector's item.
jayyurb 10-17-2009, 12:24 AM Wait are you Jun on the bball team? Haha I know it's random.
rockstar143 10-17-2009, 04:06 AM For sure...when I sold mine, I made a grand in a crap economy!
I love my TL though...I wouldn't go back but sometimes I miss hitting the 8400 rpms. lol.
