If i drive my car on D can i put the N or it will defect my transmission?
In case that i can, should i wait that the car stop to reput the D?
Thanks

It won't damage the transmission, but it will put unnecessary wear and tear on the transmission. Just leave it in D like it's designed to do.

What do you mean by tear and wear? (sorry i don't know all keywords u use)
And i ask about it cuz sometime you face a down hel that you can put it on N so what do you think and why?

Putting it in Neutral going downhill won't save you any gas. In fact, it will use more gas to keep the engine turning, whereas leaving it in D will shut off the fuel injectors and use the momentum to turn the engine. Just leave it in D and coast down hill. It will save you gas and avoid wear on your transmission.

The transmission will automatically rev-match when you switch from N to D, so it won't damage anything. Just the fact that it has to rev and switch gears will cause wear on the transmission. Why put more stress on the transmission than you need to?

-actually, if you are going OVER 40 mph, you should NOT put it in NUETRAL, this'll cause damage---ALSO, you shouldn't TOW an AUTO trans. in Nuetral, over 40 mph...

The car allows you to move freely from D to D3 and N for a reason; so the car was designed to do it. I would generally refrain because it seems to put unnecessary wear on the transmission, but if you have to, make sure you give it time for the computer to engage the transmission into the correct gear before you put on the gas

At the dealer, they told me that i shouldn't cuz there is cluchs inside the trans and they shouldn't turn without the engein force, so i didn't accept this idea for that i ask if any one of u know something i will appreciated !

Go for a tow truck that holds the whole car. Nah, you tow in neutral. Not like you are towing all the time. Needs to be, for the wheels to be free.

Neutral gear doesn't hurt your tranny, its the constant switching back and forth from neutral that wears the tranny.

I was wondering because I see people pull accords behind their RVs all the time.
