View Full Version : Jersey Beach Meet! =D
uhohkaitlina 06-17-2009, 06:15 AM Okay so here is the thread where we can start planning the beach meet that WILL happen WITHOUT rain. I'm going to propose a weekend, lemme know yay or nay guys...
OFFICIAL DATE: SUNDAY JULY 26TH
PLEASE RESPOND AND LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS OKAY. (those who decide to stay over could come down on Saturday night and hit up the bars, nightlife, etc. if a lot of people decide they would like to do this, then maybe it would be cheapest to rent a condo or something for the night (price permitting). I will make a seperate list for people that would like to stay overnight on Saturday so that we can get a better idea of who is thinking of doing what.)

05AV6 06-17-2009, 06:19 AM Those days work for me...I second the 18th/19th.
1hightoy 06-17-2009, 08:47 AM checked my work schedule and of course i work that weekend , i am out.....
lude.to.accord 06-17-2009, 10:25 AM Make it a weekend later in July/Early August..I come back from Europe two days before!
Datboifrm215 06-17-2009, 10:34 AM katlina i think the weekend after that is good.because in the middle of july people are on either vaction or working..so make it at the end of july im pretty shure people can go so i say 25th/26th
uhohkaitlina 06-17-2009, 10:39 AM Okay, so how many people are available for the weekend of the 25th?
Datboifrm215 06-17-2009, 10:44 AM i know i can def go..are u planing a one day trip or a 2 day trip?
uhohkaitlina 06-17-2009, 11:05 AM Whatever everyone is up for. I'm down for getting hotel rooms.
ShadowAccord 06-17-2009, 11:17 AM hmmm the first weekend would work for me and I might be able to make a day trip for the second weeekend I am unsure cause my dads bday is the 27th so I dont know what we as a family are doing for that I will have to keep you posted..now what beach yall want to go to? Avalon, Belmar, Ocean City, Wildwood, Island Park, Pt Pleasant, Sandy Hook, or anywhere in between?
uhohkaitlina 06-17-2009, 11:26 AM Wherever. I'm thinking that we are going to do the last weekend in July.
05AV6 06-17-2009, 11:44 AM Okay, so how many people are available for the weekend of the 25th?
Is this gonna be a Saturday/Sunday thing? If So I'll be riding through Jersey that saturday morning anyways on my way back from VA after the new motor install, so I'll come through without a doubt
lude.to.accord 06-17-2009, 01:28 PM Somewhere in central jersey would be nice, Wildwood is a little too far for me. But the weekend of the 25th works.
uhohkaitlina 06-17-2009, 01:31 PM Is this gonna be a Saturday/Sunday thing? If So I'll be riding through Jersey that saturday morning anyways on my way back from VA after the new motor install, so I'll come through without a doubt
I kinda like the idea of an overnight thing. Come on Saturday, get a room.. we can hit up boardwalks or whatever at night and then in the AM hit up the beach!
1hightoy 06-17-2009, 01:42 PM that weekend i am off so would work for me , although not sure if up for 2 days......
05AV6 06-17-2009, 02:02 PM im already gonna be doing two nights in VA, im 50/50 on staying until Sunday. But its definitley a possibllity.
K24power07 06-17-2009, 04:28 PM Im up for this....
MakingWaves 06-17-2009, 05:26 PM If it's a day trip, I put my vote in for BELMAR!!
I lifeguard there during the summers, especially sunny weekends, and know the mayor and all the Belmar police, and they know me and my car.
We need to arrive by at least 5am to be guaranteed a whole row of consecutive spaces along the boardwalk. That's no problem for me, but we'll spend part of the morning wiping the bugs off our bumpers and side mirrors!! We'll even catch a spectacular sunrise over the ocean!
1hightoy 06-17-2009, 05:49 PM 5am , is early indeed......... like belmar though , right down 195.........
uhohkaitlina 06-17-2009, 06:00 PM Belmar has my vote and since I'm the coordinator of this fine event BELMAR IT IS. I'm adding all you to the list by the way, as coming for at least Sunday.
MakingWaves 06-17-2009, 06:01 PM Yes, it's right down I-195 East, and easily accessible via the NJ Turnpike, the Garden State Parkway, and Routes 18 and 34!
So it's close by for those coming anywhere in north or central Jersey, or even from eastern Pennsylvania and the Philly area.
05AV6 06-17-2009, 06:06 PM Ill be there, unless some unforseen motor issue arises, or it just completely blows up on the drive home. :lmao::D
MakingWaves 06-17-2009, 06:10 PM Belmar has my vote and since I'm the coordinator of this fine event BELMAR IT IS. I'm adding all you to the list by the way, as coming for at least Sunday.
Listening to Queen Kaitlin speaking, if it's Belmar, I recommend parking in the section along the boardwalk between the 13th, 14th, and close to 15th Avenues. I know the spots where there are too many teenagers with huge egos, and suggest we avoid parking further south than 15th Avenue. But the kind of people usually at 13th-15th represent a more mature, family-oriented, crowd -- the best crowd we want to attract for this type of meet.
Take it from Dr. Paul here ... the Unofficial Mayor of Belmar

I'm all for staying away from punk teenagers, my car already gets enough attention, def don't need any morons doing something stupid to it while parked.
ShadowAccord 06-17-2009, 08:26 PM this is true ...........I guess belmar it is........even though where would you want to stay lol......I mean for me its really easy I can come sat night and then come back sun morning lol.......plus can we suggest maybe hitting up a club while down there HAHA I know I am of age who else is ..........and i also CALL SPOT NUMBER 8 ON THE LIST SO get me on there
Datboifrm215 06-17-2009, 09:06 PM ill def be there..
evident 06-17-2009, 11:15 PM what beach? LBI or below plz!
MakingWaves 06-18-2009, 06:52 AM what beach? LBI or below plz!
The most direct routes to our Jersey beach meet are:
NJ Turnpike Exit 7A directly to beach, or Garden State Parkway Exit 98 to beach. Ocean Avenue and 14th Avenue intersection is the closest one (for GPS units). I'll get exact address soon (for first post in this thread).
evident, I do NOT recommend LBI exits because there is always heavy southbound Saturday traffic (during the daylight hours) on the Parkway for MILES. Been there, done that. We have already selected Belmar as our beach meet destination!

Dr. Paul, you're such a hero!
If you could get me an address that'd be great. Maybe you can even talk to the Belmar Police and tell them to CLOSE OFF those parking spots for select accords only ;) (kidding... kind of)

Don't lie, your 100% serious. I second this proposal.
Datboifrm215 06-18-2009, 09:06 AM yeah dr.paul =] get some poh poh to close a spot for us xD
MakingWaves 06-18-2009, 09:11 AM It's true that I work as a youth instructor for the NJ State Police, but even I don't have the kind of pull to reserve a whole group of boardwalk parking spaces. We need to arrive very early and park in every other spot, and then place our cleaning supplies in the empty spots next to our cars as we wait for additional DA members to arrive!!
Let me send an email to the Belmar mayor about this. He has been a personal friend of mine for years.
MakingWaves 06-18-2009, 09:15 AM We also need to put money in the metered parking spots along the boardwalk, but I don't really see a problem with that. :dunno:
ShadowAccord 06-18-2009, 09:21 AM well arent there parking spots in belmar that are not metered? well I guess we can do the photoshoot in metered spots than park on the streets when done lol
MakingWaves 06-18-2009, 09:37 AM This is the email I just sent to the Belmar mayor:
Hello, Mayor! This is Dr. Paul, the Unofficial Mayor!
I first want to commend you on your decision to install that blue mobility mat at the 14th Avenue beach entrance! It has made walking on the sand so much easier for me, and I have seen beachgoers in portable wheelchairs use the mat at 14th (they then transfer to a regular beach chair adjacent to the mat). I'm not even sure how they navigated those boardwalk-to-beach steps, but I'll ask them next time I see them.
I belong to an internet forum for Honda Accord enthusiasts, and have made friends with a lot of them during our recent meet at Mercer County Park last weekend. We are planning a Belmar meet during the weekend of July 24th, where our cars will be parked in individual spaces along the boardwalk at 14th and 15th Avenues south of Matisse and one block north of Dunkin Donuts. We are hoping to get consective spots, all in a row of cars, so I've asked our members to arrive very early that morning (like 5am or 530am) to park along the boardwalk and put money in the parking meters after 830am. I'm trying to make sure of details well in advance, so while most of these cars will have our hoods opened for boardwalk admirers, I want to make sure that no one will be standing in the street behind the cars.
These are a bunch of good young adults who care about their cars and are not punks or teenagers. I've seen these Accords and talked with their owners last weekend, and many of their rides are lowered with bigger wheels, with modifications to headlights, grilles, and under the hood.
So I thought that it would be ideal to give you a heads-up and ask if there are any suggestions you may have regarding the boardwalk parking for this meet. Are there any standard protocols or rules and restrictions we should be aware of in advance?
Thanks Mayor!! I look forward to meeting you again at the beach soon, once it stops raining.
Warm regards,
Dr. Paul

Hopefully they are as accommodating as they sound, but I got a feeling I'm gonna get banged over the head with tickets, hahaha
1hightoy 06-18-2009, 01:16 PM wonder what the response will be......
uhohkaitlina 06-18-2009, 01:30 PM This is intense, hahah.

Wow , most of the time i can sneak around and not get notice, now with that letter they will def keep am eye out for us with there pens ready lol:lmao::nuts: Espacially telling them we have mods under our hoods lol thats a no no.....
MakingWaves 06-18-2009, 06:05 PM K24, don't worry, as long as DA members are under my care, you have nothing to worry about at Belmar. I *am* the unofficial mayor of the town.
Fredsvt 06-18-2009, 06:39 PM It's a nice idea.
But I won't go anywhere near the beach in the summer. Can't stand the traffic. Ugh.
It's hard enough to get home from work on Fridays. (I work near Belmar)
Maybe set up a post-labor day meet sometime?
ShadowAccord 06-18-2009, 08:00 PM well I mean if we do go we can hit up Djais or Bar A haha those are quite the places to be at when it hits night fall lol..........thats if yall want to go out at night.....someone should rent a house HAHAHA that be crazy....
MakingWaves 06-18-2009, 09:19 PM Jarrod, does your suggestion mean you want to get DA members walking like I do? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
ShadowAccord 06-18-2009, 09:56 PM hahahaha no I do not want to get members walking like you do in that spirit lol.........I just making a suggestion of what to do at night.......I mean I love to dance and have a good time I was just keeping the options open.....lol
MakingWaves 06-19-2009, 06:06 AM I have VERY good news from the Belmar mayor this morning!! Here's his response:
He actually called our cars Camrys in his email, but I quickly changed it to Accords before posting this! :paranoid:
Hi Dr. Paul!
Thanks for your email, and I'm glad you're enjoying the Mobi-mats.
I think your Accord owners gathering sounds like a nice event. Assuming there will be fewer than 75 car owners participating (which is the threshold for referring a special event to the Special Event Committee, the Borough Council has the authority to take some steps to help facilitate this event.
What I have in mind is that we could have the Department of Public Works or our Police Department tag the meters in the area where the participants would park, which would avoid the need to get everyone to drop their cars off by 5:00 a.m. I regret that in light of our sagging beach revenue, the Council would not be in a position to waive the parking meter fees. So long as the participants arrive by the time the meters go into operation, which I believe is 9:00 a.m., and they keep the meters paid up, you'd be able to park together all day.
Assuming the Council concurs with this, we would need an advance head count for how many spaces would be need to tagged with Emergency No Parking signs the night before. The Borough now offers pre-paid parking cards, which will make it easy to keep the parking meters paid up.
By copy of this to our Borough Clerk, I'm asking that she put this on the Council's agenda for next Wednesday evening, so that we can discuss it. There is no need for you to attend that meeting.
I will keep you informed of the details.
Kind regards,
Ken
05AV6 06-19-2009, 06:21 AM Sweet!
uhohkaitlina 06-19-2009, 06:51 AM AWESOME! Wow. Haha. Cmon guys you REALLY gotta come now. We have to show off at the boardwalk!!
And Jarrod, I won't be able to join you at Bar A. My 21st has not arrived yet. In a few months though..
[junsei]Gen8 06-19-2009, 07:05 AM Amazing Dr.Paul!! thank you...i really hope i can get off...this meet keeps getting better
uhohkaitlina 06-19-2009, 07:10 AM It can't get any better. I can get my Dunkin Donuts fix whenever I want! Right across the street oh yess
Gosha 06-19-2009, 07:38 AM I can come out but dont know about the overnight thing. The more people post the better so we can decide on the day. My schedule haant been made yet so if we decide when i should be able to come
uhohkaitlina 06-19-2009, 07:43 AM It would be that Sunday morning, right guys? I just changed the info on the first post to that date.
MakingWaves 06-19-2009, 08:27 AM I speak for my fellow members when I am hoping that Sunday is a nice, sunny day! I estimate that we would need 40-50 parking spaces, based on the approximate number that participated in the recent Mercer County Park meet. We should aim to arrive by 8:00am (or 8:30am at the latest), even if the spots will probably be held for us until 9am.
For those unfamiliar with Belmar, next to the Dunkin Donuts is a Subway, Three Brothers Pizza, and a shop where you can get all kinds of snacks, soda, and non-alcoholic drinks during the day. These shops are across the street at 16th Avenue, approximately two blocks south (an easy walking distance for me) of where we are planning to park along the boardwalk at 13th and 14th.
Kaitlin, the next time we meet up at Belmar with Edwin (hopefully before the meet too, and when the sun decides to finally make an appearance), I'll show you the idea of the parking spots we are planning to save. They are all along the boardwalk just to the south of Matisse.
Let's make this a resounding success!!
05AV6 06-19-2009, 08:41 AM Sunday works for me
Gosha 06-19-2009, 08:59 AM Yea sunday sounds like a good day, july should be sunny and warm regardless, unlike the weather we are having now
MakingWaves 06-19-2009, 01:00 PM Ok, guys, the mayor cc:'ed the above email to some of the Belmar council members.
Turns out I got a short email from one council member today, who simply told me her husband is a HUGE automotive enthusiast!! So we're on the good side of the Belmar council already, and think they would be enthusiastic about our Sunday meet.
uhohkaitlina 06-19-2009, 01:24 PM Can't wait! Thanks so much Dr. Paul!
We need to get more accords... g0g0g0
05AV6 06-19-2009, 01:42 PM I can probably grab at least 5 Gen-7's from ECM, who are usually good to go on Sundays
ShadowAccord 06-19-2009, 02:14 PM hmmm sounds like everything is coming together .......and kaitlin errr get up in age shes....need to be going out well we will find a nice 18 n up place for us to go to so u can show off these dance moves of yours HAHAHA.........well the plan seems set for sunday morning but whose planning on going sat night or even staying over?
BlueCoupe08 06-19-2009, 03:44 PM i will be out for this!
i hate being the youngest one ahah 17 sucks!
xxDaJackalxx 06-19-2009, 05:15 PM Can a DC cat join the party? No one in the metro area seems down to meet lately... Jersey beach is a hike, but it'd be worth it!
And this way all you guys asking for sound clips of the Magnaflow can hear it for yourself in person. :)
ShadowAccord 06-19-2009, 05:35 PM haha that would be nice..........hmmm i have to see whats going on in the lab with my car I might be able before the meet to produce a sound just like it hmmmmmm LOL......just need Kat to update the list....
uhohkaitlina 06-19-2009, 07:32 PM Yes come! I would love to hear that!!

ShadowAccord 06-23-2009, 09:28 AM why so quiet............is no one EXCITED FOR THE BEACH I KNOW I AM lol.........so hows progress DR PAUL you hear anything back........kait we need to get a bigger list so start advertising the meet hahaha......alright thats my two cents for the day .....all I can say is there will be MUSIC lol
xxDaJackalxx 06-23-2009, 09:41 AM .....all I can say is there will be MUSIC lol
:banana::nuts::banana:
MakingWaves 06-23-2009, 05:46 PM Hey I am excited for the Belmar meet prob because I work there too!
We have the Belmar mayor and council enthusiastically on our side for this meet. I am hoping for about 50-60 Accords all parked in consecutive spots along the boardwalk. Our meet is the top of the agenda for Belmar's council meeting tomorrow night, so I should be receiving an update later this week from the mayor. I'll keep everyone informed!
Jarrod, it was AWESOME to see you on Route 18 South this afternoon!! At first, I recognized the rear lip when you were ahead of me and then the front lip when I passed you! You passed me and then I passed you again :lmao:, before I realized it was you. Thanks for the big thumbs-up!
I was returning from an oil change/tire rotation at my dealership. :) I watch them like HAWKS!
uhohkaitlina 06-23-2009, 06:05 PM GET.MORE.ACCORDS.
My boyfriend is bringing the caddy and my best friend is bringing his impala. :).
xxDaJackalxx 06-24-2009, 11:05 AM I'm probably adding an M3 and s2000 to my envoy.
MakingWaves 06-25-2009, 09:39 AM As of this date, we have OFFICIALLY received approval with both the Belmar mayor and the Boro of Belmar council for our July 24, 2009 meet!
I will soon be in touch with the assistant police chief so that our spots can be reserved. Actually, I see the email with the official council approval has also been cc:'ed to the Belmar police too!
If you are planning to come, or are at least THINKING of joining our fleet of Accords on the 24th, and want to proudly show off your ride along the Belmar boardwalk, we have a spot for you. But I need an approximate head count, perhaps by Friday, July 10th. Does everyone agree that this is a reasonable date to let me or Kaitlin know?
Please post here so Kaitlin can add your name(s) to the meet list in her first post in this thread. :grouphug:

Thanks Jarrod! I think Kaitlin is on a cross-country trip this week and may be a few days before she can check this thread.

MakingWaves 06-28-2009, 05:22 PM My email below has been sent to the Belmar Police Department:
Hello, Chief Palmisano!
I have received official approval from Mayor Pringle and the Boro Council for the Honda Accord boardwalk meet on July 26th, 2009.
We want to reserve the parking spots along the boardwalk starting from the first angled parking spot to the south of Matisse Restaurant (in front of the 13th Avenue beach entrance) with consecutive spaces to 14th and perhaps 15th Avenues. As I understand, these spots will be reserved during the evening of July 25th (Saturday) only until 9:00am on Sunday (the 26th). Parking meters for all reserved spots will be kept paid for the duration of the event by each member's car accompanying that spot. Each member will be responsible for keeping his/her meter paid, and I will clearly make this point to all our members before the event.
I estimate about 50 cars for this event. We have a total of about 10 confirmations at this time. Starting on the first Monday in July, and for subsequent Mondays, I will email you an updated list of total registrants that are confirmed. This should give you an idea of the total number of reserved spaces needed starting to the south of Matisse, if it's around 50 or less. I will keep you informed as we get closer to the date.
If you have any questions or want to confirm certain details of this event, please email me.
Thank you! I look forward to hearing from you.
Warm regards,
Dr. Paul
05AV6 06-28-2009, 05:58 PM I have actually run into a major family emergency, and I will keep you all posted, but I may not be able to attend this dependant on how things go the next few days/weeks. I am still going to try but I can't guarantee I will be there as of yet.

asaga1 06-30-2009, 03:46 AM <<<~~~~~ I'm in....
MakingWaves 06-30-2009, 08:49 PM NEAREST DESTINATION (for GPS units):
1401 Ocean Avenue, Belmar NJ 07719. We have the parking spaces along the boardwalk reserved for 13th, 14th, and 15th Avenues. The address is centered at 14th Avenue. It's the first house there, worth nearly $3M. Expensive real estate!!
Kaitlin, please add this to first post in this thread.
uhohkaitlina 07-01-2009, 06:55 AM Hey everyone! Sorry that I have been gone for so long.
I flew standby, with the hopes of going to Portland, Oregon. Instead I had to fly to Salt Lake City Utah, drive 12 hours through Utah and Idaho to get to Beaverton, Oregon. And then 5 hours to Seattle 2 days later. But it was so much fun!!
And, now I will update the first post. Dr. Paul, thank again. Let me make sure I'm understanding. As long as we get there before 9:00 on Sunday the spots will be reserved for us?
MakingWaves 07-01-2009, 07:01 AM Welcome home!! That is correct, Kaitlin. The spots will start at 13th Avenue and the total number reserved for us along the boardwalk south to 14th and 15th Avenues. As long as we arrive by the time the parking meters go into effect (9:00am) on Sunday morning, the 26th, we will have these spots for our meet. I think the best time to arrive is between 8:00am and 8:30am because that gives us a buffer to organize the parking by Accord generation.
I'm happy that you had a safe, fun trip out west!! Did you rent an Accord?
MakingWaves 07-01-2009, 07:03 AM no, this is on need to know basis. this gona be like race around the world, you get direction to one spot and you gona get envelop with directions to next location, and so on untill you get there lol
Mike, are you planning to join us? I don't see your screen name on the list yet!!
uhohkaitlina 07-01-2009, 07:39 AM Haha... Well, my friend has family in Utah, Oregon, and Seattle, so we just went in their cars. Started out in an '06 Impala, and did some driving in an OLD Crown Victoria from like 239 years ago.. which broke down at one point. Anyways, it was so much fun. Maybe I'll post a thread with some pics. But I don't have that many as of yet.
1hightoy 07-01-2009, 07:46 AM welcome back to the east coast Kaitlin.......
uhohkaitlina 07-01-2009, 07:48 AM welcome back to the east coast Kaitlin.......
Thankk youu!! ... I can't believe how beautiful it is over there. I'd LOVE to move to Oregon
asaga1 07-01-2009, 04:27 PM hope the sun finally comes out by the 26th!
sy272004 07-02-2009, 05:50 AM for now, i am going but anything can change. have to get request of days off asap
1hightoy 07-02-2009, 09:46 AM hope the sun finally comes out by the 26th!
yeah hope the weather is good when this day comes around.......
MakingWaves 07-02-2009, 01:22 PM I have let the Belmar officials know today we have 15 total cars so far for this meet!!
1hightoy 07-02-2009, 01:47 PM have the police responded to your email yet........
asaga1 07-05-2009, 03:41 AM might have my summer shoes by then..... 20"foose speedsters....
MakingWaves 07-05-2009, 07:30 AM The Belmar chief of police has not responded to my emails yet, but the mayor and members of the Belmar boro council have responded. The second email, sent July 2nd to the chief, was basically an update on the number of member cars we have so far for this meet. I will be updating the chief every few days or so if the total members coming increases. I cc:'ed this email to the mayor, but they were probably too busy coordinating the holiday events. Belmar turned out to be ridiculously crowded by early afternoon yesterday!!
Kaitlin, earlier in this thread, there is mention of DA members also bringing friends who are coming with their own cars. Your bf is also bringing his vintage Cadillac. Please update the list with these cars so that we can have the correct number of reserved parking spots along the boardwalk.
I'll email the chief again later this upcoming week, or when we reach the 25-member mark.
Looking forward to seeing those foose speedsters!
MakingWaves 07-05-2009, 07:40 AM For my last post, a quick review of the thread finds:
05AV6 is bringing at least five Gen7's from ECM (can you please confirm this?)
Kaitlin -- also bringing a Cadillac and Impala
xxDaJackalxx -- bringing an M3 and s2000
Kaitlin, the member list should be updated with these cars! Thanks!
-- Dr. Paul
uhohkaitlina 07-05-2009, 08:12 PM List updated!
I hope everyone had a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable fourth. I know i did!
sy272004 07-05-2009, 08:33 PM ill ask Mike and Brett
i posted this on ECM
MakingWaves 07-06-2009, 07:03 PM I was at Belmar today, noting the northern-most parking spot number along the boardwalk (# 168) where the numbers get smaller as you walk south (i.e., 167, 166, 165 ...). I don't think anyone here needs to know this, but it allows me to convey to the Belmar Police Chief exactly where our reserved spots will start. In close proximity to spot #168, there is a Mack's Snack shop on the boardwalk and also the 13th Avenue beach entrance. Spot #168 is also about 100 feet north of the GPS address in the OP post, 1401 Ocean Avenue.
Our spots will be reserved starting Saturday night, the 25th, until 9am on the 26th. We should aim to arrive between 8am and 830am so we can organize our spots by Accord generation. Don't worry, I'm getting there around 6am as I normally do. I might park in spot #168 on the 26th (to visually assist the first members who arrive).
When 05AV6 gets back to us with his member confirmations, I will then send another email update (with the total members coming) to the police chief and ask that he send a quick confirmation. At the moment, I think we may have 21 total. Mike, I'm looking forward to the responses you get from ECM.
I hope that we can get at least 50-60 spots so that we can really make an impact and woo the Belmar crowd too!!
As long as I have been frequenting Belmar (since 1996), this is really the first boardwalk summer car show I can recall in the town.
chriswashington 07-07-2009, 01:32 AM Hello, I know I am a newbie, but I am really interested in comming to this, I am trying to get ideas of how to customize my Accord (sadly, its completely stock =( but hope that will change in the upcomming months) I have 08 accord, and I will be in south jersey visiting family around that date, and would be up for being there for the day! Let me know

 You are more than welcome to come check it out and bring your accord! You can see what other people have done and get your ideas that way. We are all nice people, kinda like a family. We'd love to have you.
What generation accord do you have? Should I throw your name on the list?

We'd love to have you! My 7thGen Accord (2004) is, like yours, pretty much unmodified, and I look forward to the meet with excitement and anticipation. Everyone is friendly and approachable. They love to talk about their Accord and cars in general. Like Kaitlin said, we are all family!
This meet will be on Sunday, July 26th, starting at 9am. Come early, we have a parking spot along the Belmar, New Jersey boardwalk reserved just for you. Should you need a destination address for your GPS, see the first post in this thread (on page 1).
Any questions, you are more than welcome to ask us!
MakingWaves 07-07-2009, 07:17 AM  What generation accord do you have? Should I throw your name on the list?
Kaitlin, I think that chriswashington has an 08 NBP accord sedan 4-cyl. So it's 8th Generation! :D
chriswashington 07-07-2009, 07:27 AM Yep 8th generation. about how far is that beach from south jersey (williamstown)? And yes, I'll be there, as long as there isn't any accidents or emergencies lol. Its going to be a multiple city trip, starting in Charlotte, NC to Cleveland, OH to Buffalo, NY (orientation) then to NJ lol.

I just went on a road trip to the West Coast. Aren't road trips fun? Haha...
I will add your name to the list
I just checked Mapquest and it said that it's about an hour and a half away.
I'll add your name to the list and hope to see you there. If you would like I will PM you my cell phone number in case you need help getting there.

wish I could say the same, due to an unforeseen family emergency, and a rescheduling of my engine build, I am now only 50/50 if I'll make it to this event. I'd really love to make it out to this, but family comes first, I will try to make at least an appearance for a little while on Sunday. No promises though :\

Really sorry to hear that. If you need anything let me know. I'm a good listener. :).
Should I remove the other 5 spots I reserved for ya? They still coming?
chriswashington 07-07-2009, 08:31 AM Oh I love road trips lol, I drove to montana for thanksgiving and drove back middle of december, I am soo glad I didn't have the honda, the weather was horrible, -32 below zero through wyoming and noth dakota, white out conditions, 1.5 ft of snow, as much as I would love to say it would, the honda wouldn't have made it lol. Ok thats not too bad at all, and sure that sounds good.
How is the belmare area? I've only been to AC lol
05AV6 07-07-2009, 08:33 AM for now, yes, if anything changes and I know I am going to make it they will likely meet me there. I will be driving up with another 06 v6 6 Speed Gen 7 early that Sunday AM from Virginia, depending on what time we get going (and if there is any unforseen hiccups with the motor build) we will likely drop in for a little while. TBD at this point, but Ill get your cell from you prior to leaving so if we come we know where the heck we are going, LOL
With regard to whole emergency situation, I appreciate the support, it has been a really, really tough week and is just now starting to get better. I effing hate hospitals.
uhohkaitlina 07-07-2009, 08:47 AM Okay. I'll remove them for now but let me know if anything changes. We can only reserve the spots until 9:00am so hopefully we can fit you guys somewhere whenever you get there. I'm sure people will come and go. We will figure it out. :)

Leave them with Paul, he will clean them up and use them to build another set of heads/cams/intake manifold, etc.
chriswashington 07-07-2009, 04:32 PM Hey I do have a question, how much should I bring for the meters?
MakingWaves 07-07-2009, 06:03 PM Several quarters would do. I'm not sure how much time per each meter (I have handicapped plates so no need for me to fill mine), but I will take note of the meter feeds the next time I hit Belmar, probably on Thursday or Friday of this week. I think it may be one quarter for each 30 minutes, not sure.
chriswashington 07-07-2009, 08:40 PM Sounds good, do they have the option of like a credit card or something? I dont keep cash on me, but I will just have to if they dont lol. I saw in one of the mayor letters something about it, so any info would be great
Gosha 07-08-2009, 08:56 PM Hey kaitlin did you get my PM?
uhohkaitlina 07-09-2009, 06:22 AM Indeed I did. I wrote ya back.
MakingWaves 07-10-2009, 08:23 PM We might have a restored 1958 Corvette and a 1963 "split-window" Corvette joining our fleet on the 26th.
Also tracked down the owner of an all-black 7.5 Gen sedan parked at Belmar today (with dark tints, darkened tails, black wheels with chrome lips) and invited him. He was not familiar with this forum though, but he seemed to be open and enthusiastic about the meet.
Please don't add these to the meet list yet, Kaitlin. I'll keep you updated ... just working hard at my end to make this a success!
By the way, each hour for the parking meter costs $1.00. The meters can be fed quarters, so I suggest each member bring a stash of quarters for his or her spot. Kaitlin, it's a good idea to add this fact to the first post in this thread.
Mr. Trife 07-12-2009, 10:55 AM hmm, too bad my car is 100% stock
MakingWaves 07-12-2009, 12:46 PM Welcome Mr. Trife! My car is almost bone stock (except for my steering wheel emblem) and I don't even have tints! Nevertheless, Kaitlin and I are the coordinators of this meet!
Having a stock Accord is nothing to be ashamed about. By meeting fellow Accord owners who have the same year as you, it gives you a chance to see and appreciate their modifications so that you can choose to modify your ride in the near future. In fact, I felt very welcome at our last meet at Mercer County Park!
Would you like to have a parking spot reserved for you at our meet? All are welcome!

wow do you really change your oil every 2,500 miles???? I rely on my oil % and it only gets changed when it hits 20% (dealer said its a waste of money to get it done sooner) The first oil change was at 11,000 miles, second 22,500 miles. I am a mechanic and I was very uneasy with the idea, but when the dealership changed the oil last time, it wasn't even black! it still had the golden tint to it.
Sorry I know off topic, just found that interesting! A dollar an hour isn't bad...better than going to wildwood!

My 2004 does not even have the Maintenance Minder yours has, Chris. I think the MM feature started with the 2005 models.
I feel that my frequent oil changes and other fluid changes (ATF, brake, coolant, etc.) are the simplest preventative maintenance you can do on a vehicle. With all the dealership and fuel receipts in a 3-ring binder, with odometer readings and MPG organized by gasoline brand and station during the 5.5 years I have had my Accord, I think the fully documented service history would become invaluable to a new owner years down the road. It's not a major issue with most people as it is for me: I even insist the dealership use the same mechanic to work on my vehicle every time I bring it in for service. The SA always writes down "USE FENDER GUARDS" and "COVER STEERING WHEEL AND SEATS" on the service forms. :paranoid: The only exception is that our resident mechanic guru here on DA, FredSVT, personally changed the ATF filter after my dealership refused to do so! :notworthy
And that's just the mechanical part, Chris! As far as the cosmetic part, I think you may be impressed with the way I take care of my car. I'm sure Mike, Jarrod, and Kaitlin could chime in and offer their honest thoughts about the overall appearance of my car, the paint, etc. It simply looks better than showroom new (knock on wood).
Sorry I know off topic, just found that interesting! A dollar an hour isn't bad...better than going to wildwood!
Yes, I confirmed the parking meter is $1.00 per hour. You may also want to bring extra money (I think $7 or $8) for a daily badge to access the Belmar beach -- bring a blanket, chair, towel, and (if you wish) umbrella for the beach. Within walking distance (2 blocks), there is also a Dunkin Donuts, two outdoor pizzerias, a Subway, and an outdoor sandwich shop so bring a little extra cash for breakfast or lunch there. I never seen other people pay by credit card though, but when I hit Belmar again during the middle of the week, I'll ask these establishments if they accept credit cards.
asaga1 07-12-2009, 07:38 PM should have my vizualogics in by then....
i'll try and "borrow"my sons wii for the day! lol
uhohkaitlina 07-12-2009, 08:06 PM This event is going to be amazing I can just tell.
I SWEAR I will go postal if it rains.

Yeah I couldn't remember if my 03 had it, probably because I didn't have it long enough to put 2000 miles on it (had it for 5 months, 4.5 months out of 5 it was in the shop :thumbsdow)
And wow! I dont plan on selling my car, but even if i was, I dont think i could do that!:notworthy:notworthy Thats really going to be a huge plus for when you sell it. Only thing i keep is the service records, but thats not such a good thing.
As far as the paint goes, im slated to have a new paint job today (monday) on my car, thanks to 32 defects i found in the original paint, and a new bumper (not happy about!) because the dealership sanded the plastic off the bottom part :censored::censored: I was cussing like a trucker!
But other than that, my car is never dirty, I FREAK when someone drops anything in my car, (no one actually get to drive it, including family and my gf lol) There are some downsides to black paint though, swirls are gonna happen, which is the only real issue with the paint (besides a H&R that put a little dent into my ps fender, which i am hoping to get fixed at some point)
But your car looks really amazing, and amazing job on the maint records!!! :notworthy
The beach pass is soo stupid, I think its crazy NJ makes us pay to go onto the beach. I guess from being down in south carolina, its not something we ever hear about since the beach is free (like it should be lol) but will do, thanks for that!
Mr. Trife 07-12-2009, 09:51 PM I'll have to get back to you on that, thanks for the offer! A lot of jersey heads in here, that's pretty cool.

if you realy wana find out then get oil analized. its only like $22 with shipping. depending what oil u use. your oil is not as great of concern as your filter, it can only take in so much before it starts to bypass crap.
if you use full synthetic media oil filter then it can filter out more. i wana look into getting larger filter since some filters i seen are same diameter but longer. but right now im using Amsoil 0-W30 oil and their full thinthetic oil filter. i changed after 9000k first time and oil analisys said it was at about 50% but they didnt recommend going same again and changing at 7000k, im doing oil analysis after 4800k and see how it does

Very true, Mike!
But I always ask that the dealership replace my oil filter at every such service (2500 mi intervals) by my fave mechanic. I check the receipt twice and the oil filter part is always listed. So I do have some peace-of-mind. I never considered an oil analysis though (my parents would then think I am OCD!).

Oil analysis is actually a very good thing to do for high mileage cars. Its cheap, and they can check to see if there are metal shavings in the oil. We do it for our 18 wheeler truck engines every 100,000 miles. I think (im my opinion that is) that we should do what trucking companies do in terms of maint.....Which is change oil filter, oil, fuel filter every 6,000 miles....air filter changed every 6 months, transmission fluid every 50,000 miles. It hasn't failed us yet, some of our trucks are rolling on 1.9 million miles. most of our fleet is at 600-800,000 miles ('06s and '07s)
royal purple is my favorite favorite oil, it doesn't break down like most oil, but as a college student $$ is hard to get for stuff like that, one thing thats going to help this year is obama lowered interest rates  makes me soo happy, by the time i graduate im going to be 130k in debt, which is crazy because I got a 149k scholoarship.
MakingWaves 07-14-2009, 08:20 AM Ok, guys! The latest tally is about 22 total members for the July 26th meet, pending the responses of 05AV6 guests.
Later this week, I plan to email the police chief this updated total.
If you are lurking, and are thinking of joining us in this meet, please let us know so we can reserve a spot for you!
uhohkaitlina 07-14-2009, 08:32 AM Agh!! We need more people. Anyone on v6performance.net or whatever that can post this up??
uhohkaitlina 07-14-2009, 08:41 AM Thought i'd let you know.. I can easily turn this into a car meet that's not just accords. My friend mentioned he might be ale to get some supras, skylines.. other kinds of cars. but i dont know how set you guys are on making it a purely accord meet. That's kinda how I wanted it, but the turnout's not looking so good..
Mr. Trife 07-14-2009, 08:50 AM im still debating
MakingWaves 07-14-2009, 08:53 AM I am also supportive of a car meet with a variety of cars besides Accords. It gives a taste of variety and makes it interesting as you walk down the boardwalk, with all due respect to our Accords!
Remember, Belmar is reserving these spots just for us, so it only matters that the car in that spot is driven by a driver who really cares about his ride. So a car meet is a get-together of such drivers so that they share the enthusiasm for cars and sharing a knowledge of car care, modification, and maintenance tips. I would love to see Supras, Skylines, and 300Zs, but promise, no bickering between Honda, Toyota, and Nissan owners! :lmao:
This is why I agree with Kaitlin's idea.
chriswashington 07-14-2009, 12:57 PM I am also supportive of a car meet with a variety of cars besides Accords.
 I agree
1hightoy 07-14-2009, 02:22 PM maybe i will leave the accord home and bring the truck hmmmmm.........
ShadowAccord 07-14-2009, 05:07 PM hahaha this is becoming interesting..........well Ive posted threads on v6performance and on 7th gen so thats been done bout two or so weeks ago.......but someone start cheerleading otherwise we just goin to have to pull up to some accords on the roads and hand out flyers hahaha
asaga1 07-14-2009, 06:18 PM should I leave my accord home and bring my trailer queen?????
1987 GNX
3200 original miles.... the only person besides me to sit in her was my son when he was born...... that was the last time he sat in it too.... lol
MakingWaves 07-14-2009, 07:21 PM asaga, have your wife drive the Accord while you follow her in the GNX! After all, the Accord has the navigation. We'd love to see both rides!
xJoeMama78 07-14-2009, 10:19 PM Thought i'd let you know.. I can easily turn this into a car meet that's not just accords. My friend mentioned he might be ale to get some supras, skylines.. other kinds of cars. but i dont know how set you guys are on making it a purely accord meet. That's kinda how I wanted it, but the turnout's not looking so good..
Hmm...get off work Wednesday morning, sleep, leave Weds night, drive 18 hours, sleep for 5, drive 19 hours, arrive Friday night, stay till Sunday, turn around Sunday night and drive back.....spend $600+ on gas, miss a week of work...
sy272004 07-15-2009, 05:31 AM Katlin, put Brett on list (guy with white accord sedan that came to our last meet)
uhohkaitlina 07-15-2009, 06:10 AM I guess bring whatever you want? It kinda sucks that we don't have more accords though... it's making me cry a little, haha.
asaga1 07-15-2009, 01:33 PM asaga, have your wife drive the Accord while you follow her in the GNX! After all, the Accord has the navigation. We'd love to see both rides!
:jawdrop:
drive my baby..... no no no no my friend.... she never gets driven.... i got"Alicia" back in 87 when I was a senior in high school.... and even back then.... I never drove her..... I had a 84 Eldorado that I used to zip around in.....
I also wouldnt want to upset the op... seems she wanted an Accord meet...
MakingWaves 07-15-2009, 02:40 PM Ok, have an update for everyone. The Belmar mayor has a question and extended us an invitation.
First the question: Is there a rain date selected for the July 26th meet? What about the first Sunday in August?
The invitation: we can have a 2- or 3-paragraph blurb on the www.belmar.com web site about our July 26th meet. I got a pic taken with my car today for the web site. The question is do we keep this a Honda Accord meet or at least open it up to other makes (I'm edging for the latter). If we accept cars besides Accords, we will likely get classic cars from the 1950s and 1960s joining our meet (because it is publicized on the Belmar web site). The Belmar web site reaches a broad statewide audience, but we do have a limit of the first 75 cars (first come, first serve). The 3rd paragraph will state that our meet is limited to 75 cars, and to contact me (Dr. Paul) or Kaitlin to pre-register for the day.
Kaitlin, I don't mind putting my email address on the Belmar site for advance registrations. Would you like yours to be up there too? We can ask participants what kind of car they have, and if it's a newer model, what makes their car distinct from others on the road. Do they have car care advice? Modifications?
Any other ideas or suggestions, please feel free to post here.
I will email the webmaster our web site blurb tomorrow (Thursday), and it will show up on the Belmar site on Friday. We just need to agree on the details first before I can write the blurb (you are more than welcome to email me a blurb draft).
There will be a photographer there taking pictures and video for us, and I am friends with a reporter from the Asbury Park Press who might be able to cover the meet.
uhohkaitlina 07-15-2009, 02:43 PM I think that would be pretty cool. I guess lets just make it an "any car car show" We just have to make sure the accords look extra nice and are all parked together.
You may put up my email. It's kfoster@eden.rutgers.edu
uhohkaitlina 07-15-2009, 02:44 PM I think that would be pretty cool. I guess lets just make it an "any car car show" We just have to make sure the accords look extra nice and are all parked together.
You may put up my email. It's kfoster@eden.rutgers.edu
And I think that the following Sunday would be a good rain date, and we can keep pushing it forward as we need to (I guess). I'm crossing my fingers that we don't need to worry about a rain date though!
MakingWaves 07-15-2009, 02:47 PM asaga, you are not upsetting anyone!! Us Accord owners, Kaitlin included, will probably be DROOLING over your GNX!! haha
MakingWaves 07-15-2009, 02:48 PM The mayor thinks a rain date, if we choose one, should be at least mentioned on the Belmar web site.
uhohkaitlina 07-15-2009, 02:49 PM So, ran date of August 2nd?
MakingWaves 07-15-2009, 02:51 PM I think that would be pretty cool. I guess lets just make it an "any car car show" We just have to make sure the accords look extra nice and are all parked together.
Sounds good. I think it's good to park the 7thGens between 13th and 14th Avenues.
The 8th Gens will occupy a larger section between 14th and 15th.
The classic/other cars will be at 15th to 16th as needed.
But we Accord owners need to arrive by 8am or 815am so that we can get our cars organized. :paranoid:
MakingWaves 07-15-2009, 02:52 PM So, ran date of August 2nd?
Everyone here, chime in if August 2nd is a good rain date. Hopefully it won't be needed.
August 2nd is good for me.
05AV6 07-15-2009, 02:57 PM It better god damn not rain on that Friday or Sunday, I will be driving 6 hours on each of those days, and rain would = pure crap driving conditions.
Gosha 07-15-2009, 06:02 PM is chriswashington bringing that McLaren?
MakingWaves 07-15-2009, 06:05 PM I propose that this to be posted on the Belmar.com web site (below). Comments appreciated!
I need to know any changes or suggestions by tomorrow morning so this can be posted by Friday!!
Jersey Shore Car Meet
Date: Sunday, July 26th, 2009
Raindate: Sunday, August 2nd, 2009
Belmar Beach invites you to participate in making its Jersey Shore Car Meet a success! On July 26th, we will have a line of interesting cars parked along the boardwalk, and you are welcome to register yours. Whether you have a new or vintage Honda Accord, a Toyota Supra or Dodge Challenger, or a classic Corvette or Thunderbird, a parking spot along the boardwalk can be reserved to show off your pride and joy. It's an opportunity to share your enthusiasm with fellow participants as well as your knowledge of car care, modification, and maintenance tips. We also have rows of spots especially reserved for modified Honda Accords.
This unique car meet at Belmar Beach is open to the first 75 members who register. Rows of parking spots along the 13th-15th Avenue boardwalk will be cordoned off starting on Saturday evening, July 25th, and will be reserved for participants in this car meet only until 9:00am on Sunday, July 26th. So please arrive before 9:00am to secure your parking spot for the day. Parking meters for registered participants will still be in effect, so each participant is responsible for keeping his or her meter paid.
Please register by sending an email to Dr. Paul ( pstuart.@eden.rutgers.edu ) or Kaitlin ( kfoster@eden.rutgers.edu ) with your name and contact information, the year/make/model of your car, and perhaps what makes your car fascinating to the automotive enthusiast. We will then add your name to our membership list and see you early on July 26th! Note the raindate is August 2nd.
asaga1 07-15-2009, 06:29 PM AUGUST 2 is no good for me.... celebrating the BIG 40... omg.... its only a number its only a number...... lol....
I will consider bringing the GNX but I would need a spot for my truck and trailer... any public spots or parking lots???
MakingWaves 07-15-2009, 06:35 PM asaga, I'll email the mayor tonight about a parking spot for your truck/trailer, and will get back to you by tomorrow or Friday with his response. Thanks!! An early happy birthday to you.
ShadowAccord 07-16-2009, 12:25 AM hmmm this is getting legit quick............i better remember to shave and look extra good on the beach HAHHAHA......we making this a total any car show.......we need to get some magazines on this or some import models HAHHAHA okay my gut might be trying to eat more than it can chew but i thought it was an interesting idea lol
uhohkaitlina 07-16-2009, 06:55 AM Someone fabricate a DA bathing suit and I'll gladly sport it.
MakingWaves 07-16-2009, 08:14 AM OK, can I have approval to pass along the draft of the web site blurb to the Belmar webmaster? Any changes needed?
MakingWaves 07-16-2009, 08:25 AM The owners of the vintage 1958 and 1963 Vettes have bowed out of this meet.
However, I have asked my Rutgers friend to bring along a Benz G55 AMG (SUV) and a Bentley Continental GTC convertible. Would love to see those cars.
uhohkaitlina 07-16-2009, 08:30 AM Send it off!!
My friend MIGHT bring the 08 M3 twin turbo.. I'm gonna be on him to get it there.
MakingWaves 07-16-2009, 08:42 AM Kaitlin, this is the final draft. I have included "special Hondas" in the first paragraph (so that we might get vintage Preludes or CRXs) and a quick sentence for registration deadline in the third paragraph. I'm sending this off in the next 15 minutes!! When I send, I'll also remove the extra dot in my email below.

uhohkaitlina 07-16-2009, 08:46 AM Beautiful Dr. Paul! Thanks!
uhohkaitlina 07-16-2009, 09:12 AM So I'm going to ignore the fact that weather.com shows t-storms for the 24th, 25th, and a bunch of days prior. I am waiting in anticipation for the weather for the 26th... although 10 days out isn't accurate. ughh
MakingWaves 07-16-2009, 09:14 AM It's summertime, Kaitlin. If any tstorms do develop next week, it would likely be during the mid to late afternoon hours! That was a rare exception two months ago when we woke up to intense lightning and thunder out our windows.
uhohkaitlina 07-16-2009, 09:19 AM I know Dr. Paul. Those Meteorology classes were quite useful. I just feel like every time I try to plan something.. SOMETHING goes wrong. I'm hoping the weather behaves itself.
samsonskeg 07-16-2009, 09:27 AM you guys suck!! Im in New York/New Jersey Area till the 22nd..
Make this on the 21st :):biggrin:
MakingWaves 07-16-2009, 09:28 AM Officially, we have about 20 ppl for this meet with about 5 "maybes." Sending updated total to the Police Chief tomorrow or Saturday.
I may have a few members to add later, still awaiting confirmation from them.
I'll let everyone here know when our event appears on the Belmar web site (with 2 pictures).
asaga1 07-17-2009, 03:15 AM So I'm going to ignore the fact that weather.com shows t-storms for the 24th, 25th, and a bunch of days prior. I am waiting in anticipation for the weather for the 26th... although 10 days out isn't accurate. ughh
would you stop saying the 4 letter word please????? lol....
I wont be able to go to the _ _ _ _ date.....
uhohkaitlina 07-17-2009, 06:07 AM Okay I'll stop saying that forbidden word. Because we AREN'T going to have to worry about it.. right? =]
xxDaJackalxx 07-17-2009, 09:10 AM I know i did so a few pages back, but I just want to reconfirm. I'm there with my baby (in sig.) Debating bringing the S2000 as well and maybe my boy's M3. Depends on the weather. No point in bringing a convertable if we can't go topless. ;)
xxDaJackalxx 07-17-2009, 09:14 AM Anyone know a good hand-wash car wash near by? I will be driving up from VA and I'm sure to need a nice shower before modelling in the sun all day.
MakingWaves 07-17-2009, 09:26 AM DaJackal, there is an establishment with car wash bays nearby on Route 35 in Belmar, where you put a certain number of quarters into the meter and hose down your car there. I've never been there, but I'll drive by this weekend and take note of the business name and specific address for you.
We now got a full description with link to our facebook event on the Belmar.com web site:
http://www.belmar.com/recreation-news/2009/07/jersey-shore-car-meet/
xxDaJackalxx 07-17-2009, 09:59 AM I know I'm blowing this thread up, but just want to provide the following for anyone going to this meet.
I will be staying at the Belar Motor Lodge (little hole in the wall but apparently nice and clean so whatever) for Sat. night. Unlike most hotels in the area, the place does not have a 2 or 3 night minimum. Rate is $165+tax for two doubles or a king. Its located at 910 Route 35, about 2 miles from our meeting area. (732) 681-6600
23290
I'll be on site at about 5pm on Saturday with a couple buddies. We are going to hit the beach and then boardwalk for Saturday night. Probably find a cool spot on the beach to booze and eat and get rowdy. Anyone in the area is welcome to join us. Hit me up at (703) 853-2060. Real name is Erno.
Look forward to meeting you guys!
Makingwaves - let me know about the car wash place because when I get there Saturday, I would like to wash her right away. I'm gonna bring all my own supplies, all I really need is some real estate and a hose. Thanks!
uhohkaitlina 07-17-2009, 10:11 AM Hmm.. maybe my boyfriend and I will get a room too and I can take my car to the carwash with you. Then we can wax it at night...
xxDaJackalxx 07-17-2009, 10:21 AM Sounds sexy. I'm in!
I recommend we wax before we go out drinking :)
uhohkaitlina 07-17-2009, 10:47 AM Yeah that would PROBABLY be best haha.
EDIT: I can't go out drinking yet I'm not of age.. =[. But in 4 months I will be.
xxDaJackalxx 07-17-2009, 11:21 AM Little pregame in the hotel room never hurt :) We can figure it out if/when you get a room or arrive on site.
uhohkaitlina 07-17-2009, 11:31 AM Cool man. I'll talk to the BF tonight about getting a room and get back to you. I think that'd be fun.. ALTHOUGH... Belmar has like no boardwalk. It basically consists of a dunkin donuts and a subway. The best boardwalk is at seaside which is not close by
ShadowAccord 07-17-2009, 12:04 PM ummmmm best boardwalk in the area is def Pt pleasant which is right next to belmar hahaha FYI...........and this sounds great......well if I do go out that sat night I might come down for alittle while.......and if the R word does happen on those days before hand that will be my Car Wash hahaha........hmm are there outlets on this beach I wonder.....or does anyone have ipod speakers let me know trying to get the music going.........let me know.........so whose up for some beach frisbee n maybe volleyball if I can find me old one...??? or beach football ........
uhohkaitlina 07-17-2009, 12:34 PM I am up for beach games. :)
MakingWaves 07-17-2009, 01:42 PM There are volleyball nets that are usually set up on the beach at 15th and 16th Avenues, so that's good.
I'll write more later, just got back from the gym before the rain started, and I'm exhausted!!
Note our event is now on Facebook (search for Jersey Shore Car Meet) and on the belmar.com web site ...
xxDaJackalxx 07-17-2009, 02:03 PM I've got ladder toss and a football and a soccer ball. I'll bring all three :)
ShadowAccord 07-17-2009, 03:44 PM NICEEEEEE>>>>>>>>>as black eyed peas would saY: I GOT A FEELING THAT NIGHT WILL BE GOOD NIGHT haha or in our case day lol should be fun if anyone has a volleyball BRING IT........hmmm should be interesting

So are we trying to get this event larger than the cap you mentioned before? I plan on coming if honda in NJ will fix my car in time, or would you like for me to bring it to show the WONDERFUL job they did?:lmao:
xxDaJackalxx 07-17-2009, 11:20 PM ^ Nah, just bring the Mclaren SLR instead! X)
asaga1 07-18-2009, 04:57 AM wondering if I should just bring Alicia and drive her from Staten Island..... she hasn't seen the beach in 15 years...
MakingWaves 07-18-2009, 02:30 PM If you are going to park Alicia along the boardwalk for several hours, may I suggest driving to a car wash bay immediately after the meet is over to rinse all the airborne "salt" particles clinging to the finish? I do exactly that to my Accord every time I leave the beach 3 or 4 times a week during the summers. After 5.5 years, the Accord's paint finish still looks new.
asaga1 07-18-2009, 07:47 PM ya.... i would wash her right after....
Alicia might be there....
Matt04V6EX 07-19-2009, 08:21 AM heyy just saw this thread over on V6P and I'm deff in! I wish i could do saturday as well but I close work on sats which puts me out at like 2ish
MakingWaves 07-19-2009, 11:55 AM Kaitlin, can you add Matt04V6EX to the registered list for Sunday, the 26th.
Also, please add an extra space for asaga1 ... Alicia's coming!
I am keeping the Facebook event page updated with registrations as well.
How are our event being received at the other forums? Any new registrations to add?
worldon1finger 07-19-2009, 04:46 PM Please add me to the list. I mentioned this on V6p but didnt post it on here.
Thanks
xxDaJackalxx 07-19-2009, 08:10 PM Kaitlin, fyi the s2ooo will be part of my envoy as well.
ShadowAccord 07-20-2009, 05:58 AM hmmm its getting bigger.............I guess the v6p thread helped.....maybe Ill update that one of these days HAHAHAHA .......
uhohkaitlina 07-20-2009, 06:02 AM Kaitlin, fyi the s2ooo will be part of my envoy as well.

uhohkaitlina 07-20-2009, 06:03 AM DON'T FORGET EVERYONE TRY TO GET THERE BY 8:30AM, 8:00 PREFERABLY.
I am going to repost this like every day. I know some people are going to try and come after 9 and it will not be good. lol
uhohkaitlina 07-20-2009, 07:49 AM :furious:Fantastic!
Even though (as Dr. Paul suggested) the likely time for thunderstorms are during the afternoon, I'm rather stressed.
Seems like we are back in June again. :bawl:
Datboifrm215 07-20-2009, 09:25 AM if it does rain than i can go the 2 of august

uhohkaitlina 07-20-2009, 11:05 AM lol - The owner of the M3 is riding up with us in the s2000, so no.
nooo tell him to stop being lazy and drive the m3 lol
05AV6 07-20-2009, 12:41 PM DON'T FORGET EVERYONE TRY TO GET THERE BY 8:30AM, 8:00 PREFERABLY.
I am going to repost this like every day. I know some people are going to try and come after 9 and it will not be good. lol
So basically what your saying is, after I spent yesterday cursing, spitting, screaming, managed to burn my hand on my damn J-pipe, finally got the freaking wheel bearings off, new ones on, new axles, have to work a full week-drive 375 miles to Paul in VA, will likely hit every patch of rain, fog, traffic small farm animals and detour on the duration of my drive both to and from VA, will spend 16 hours swapping every conceviable engine piece known to man saturday, and then proceed to drive 6 hours the other way early Sunday, I gotta try to get there by 8:30 AM....SOUNDS GREAT, have Red Bull waiting by the the case load por favor.
On a serious note though, I will likely make an appearance, but the earliest I conceviably could leave VA area is like 7 AM Sunday, so getting to Belmar by around 11-12 is more realistic possiblity for myself and the one other Gen 7 that'll be with me.
ronaldbassi 07-20-2009, 01:46 PM Hello. I'm a new member and would love to meet all of you in Jersey. I was wondering if anyone is coming from the Northern Virginia area and would like to convoy up to Jersey. I figure I won't fall asleep driving up there so early if a bunch of us is heading up there.
uhohkaitlina 07-20-2009, 01:53 PM hey there! i added you to the list. feel free to invite friends to come along with you (especially those with cars they want to show off!)
05AV6.. lol you make me laugh. I will try to hold a spot for you. I'm sure other cars will be leaving/coming/going. We will figure it out. I just really hope you can make it!
ronaldbassi 07-20-2009, 01:57 PM Thanks Kaitlin for registering me. I will definitely be up there since I missed the Skyline Drive meet this past June. Also, anyone heading over to Pittsburgh for the 2nd Annual Honda Meet this coming Aug?
uhohkaitlina 07-20-2009, 02:01 PM Thanks Kaitlin for registering me. I will definitely be up there since I missed the Skyline Drive meet this past June. Also, anyone heading over to Pittsburgh for the 2nd Annual Honda Meet this coming Aug?
Can you post a picture of your car I'm dying to see it, lol.
ronaldbassi 07-20-2009, 02:06 PM I promise I will post it by Friday. The body kit, lambo doors, and front/rear rotors is being installed today. They are also working on the Momo E-Brake handle. I ordered that part from LTB Motorsports over the phone and they said it would fit. My buddy tried putting it on last week and of course after cutting the ebrake leather/rubber piece over the ebrake assembly, we found out that it was to long and we have to either cut the ebrake handle down some or cut the ebrake handle itself. Anyway, as soon as I get the car back this Thursday and Friday I will take pics. Everything else on my mod list is already on the car.
uhohkaitlina 07-20-2009, 02:07 PM Ugh. Sounds awesome. Haha. I think you are going to have the most modified 8th gen accord, for sure.
MakingWaves 07-20-2009, 02:30 PM Kaitlin, What year/model Cadillac is Eddie bringing, and what year is the Impala? This is exciting!!
ronaldbassi 07-20-2009, 02:34 PM I'm sure there are other new generation Accord's out there that's like mine. I've seen a couple here in Northern Virginia sporting Comptech TL Superchargers on their 08-09 Accord's. I wish Mike of ATLP gives me a call soon so I can do the V2 J-Pipe install before heading to Jersey.
uhohkaitlina 07-20-2009, 03:03 PM Kaitlin, What year/model Cadillac is Eddie bringing, and what year is the Impala? This is exciting!!
'97 Cadillac Deville.
Not sure what Impala.. it isn't the newest generation, but one generation behind.
K24power07 07-20-2009, 04:55 PM oh wait wat time we have to be there................hehe
ps: im trying to invite more people but no garentees since its last minute.....

ronaldbassi 07-21-2009, 11:58 AM Shadow... Jarrod (aka "dajackal"-did I get that right?) and I are meeting up this Saturday by George Mason University. I will personally show him my car and he plans on taking pics together. I will not head up until Sunday since I plan on getting the RV6 V2 Pipe and high flow cat installed after Jarrod and I meet.
I'll post pics of my car as well by Friday noon at the latest. I have pics that the body shop emailed me today on their plate fabrication for the lambo door install. It doesn't show the car just the plate so let me know if you guys want me to post (As long as someone shows me how!).
ShadowAccord 07-21-2009, 12:06 PM u mean after you and Dajackal meet HAHAHA we are totally two diff people.......I mean I take a drive down to George Mason but that is Kinda far from me lol

ronaldbassi 07-21-2009, 12:11 PM Sorry about that Shadow. I think being a new member clearly shows since I don't know everyone yet on a first name basis. I guess you all know what I mean. Also, did you get a chance to take a look at the video of the Honda Meet last yearThe link is below.
I look forward to meeting everyone on Sunday!!!!!!

MakingWaves 07-21-2009, 12:25 PM OK, great Ron! This is gonna be an awesome meet!
On Saturday, I let the Belmar police chief know to reserve us 25 spots for our meet.
Now, three days later, we have about 35-36 registered members (latest total).
I'm emailing the police chief tonight with the updated total. For members of all these forums, please check the OP on this thread to ensure your name or screen name is on our list. If not, please send a PM to either me or Kaitlin so that we have an accurate head count for this meet.
The deadline for registrations is Friday afternoon. I will then be emailing the police chief a final total for the number of reserved parking spots we need.
ShadowAccord 07-21-2009, 12:31 PM and now on Zilvia..........

MakingWaves 07-22-2009, 07:17 AM Good news! The forecast for this weekend is looking much better! Here's an excerpt from the latest forecast discussion available to meteorologists:
.LONG TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY/...
MEDIUM RANGE COMPUTER MODELS IN DECENT AGREEMENT WITH ONE SHORTWAVE AND POSSIBLE TROPICAL DISTURBANCE EXITING THE REGION FRI NIGHT. WEAK SURFACE RIDGING MAY MAKE FOR A MAINLY DRY SATURDAY AND PART OF SUNDAY. THEN SEVERAL SHORTWAVES PIVOTING UP THE COAST WILL INDUCE WAVES OF LOW PRESSURE ALONG A SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT APPROACHING THE REGION SUNDAY AND THEN SLOWLY DRIFTING THROUGH THE REGION THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK. THIS WILL BRING PERIODS OF WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS..
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO BE AT OR SLIGHTLY BELOW nORMAL...WITH HIGHS EXPECTED IN THE UPPER 70S TO LOWER 80S COAST...LOWER TO MIDDLE 80S INTERIOR EACH DAY.
MakingWaves 07-22-2009, 07:20 AM I have updated the police chief this morning. We have about 36 registered participants.
05AV6 -- can we confirm your five reserved spots by at least tomorrow?
