Not with a good driver....rwd G will eat the fwd accord ALIVE. Not sure but my guess is it has to be 5g's + for a 6 speed G with navi vs accord with the same?! But the G needs 91 octane for the advised power rating.

If cost wasn't an issue, the G37 is obviously the clear winner....

However, I think the Accord coupe styling is just as eye-pleasing as the G37 coupe and it's not exactly a slug with power. The G37 definitely wins in handling, power, interior fit and finish, and additional technology goodies. The idea of owning an Infiniti over a Honda is also a big draw for some people. It just depends on whether you think the benefits of the Infiniti are worth 12K!....

Accord V6 EX-L w/Nav: $31,865 (add ~$1500 for Honda body kit)
Infiniti G37 coupe w/Nav: $43,265 (requires premium package when you get Nav)

We're not comparing apples to apples here.....

It would only be comparable if it was Accord vs Altima

I agree 100% a better match would be the G vs the Genesis. A lot of the car mags already did the obvious apples to apples comparison.

Let's have him arrested for even thinking of such a crazy comparison!...

The only thing keeping these 2 cars from being in the same 'class' is the RWD vs. FWD. I think it's pretty reasonable and sane to take a look at how these two cars compare. If you're looking more upscale and practical, it makes perfect sense to consider the Accord along with the G37...even more so than the Genesis. Now, if you're looking for a car to race around towns and tracks then, yes, the Genesis versus the G37 and others is a more appropriate comparison.

Funny thing is...I've been trying to convince him to be proud of owning a nice car like the Accord! Just be proud to be the owner of a highly praised vehicle like the Accord and not have to convince yourself that the Accord is something it's not.

I looked at both when I got my accord. The sticker on my accord after all the options was close to, if not $37k. I knocked them down to $30.5 if I remember correctly.

The G37 I looked at was a G37S, nav, and the sticker was $42 I think. Maybe the price went up. I could have gotten it for $39,500. After test driving it I wasn't all that impressed for the extra cash. Acceleration was not much better than the accord, now handling, the accord is pitiful compared to the G. A G37 is not an exclusive car, at least not in Houston, but then again neither is a M3, M5, S63, CLS63, pretty much all AMG and M cars, etc. etc.

For the extra money I decided it wasn't worth it...maybe if they weren't on every corner...I would rather wait and when the time is right by something further upmarket of the G37. Truthfully I want the 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 provided they make it.

Just my $.10

Okay, now that we got the Accord vs. G37 out of the way. Accord vs. Enzo. Discuss.

Why is it always the G37? Why is it almost never the 370z?

1. As you've been told you can't compare the 2.
2. With a good driver in both cars, the G37 would win but the Accord would not be THAT far behind.
3. Stop digging for compliments so to speak. If you own a 6-6, congratulations, enjoy your car. Other than that, the Accord is not THAT special. Its a good value, its a fun, reliable transportation, but that's where it stops.

Everyone knows the Accord would win in every shape and form.
for instance:

1) you can drive an accord everyday
2) the oil change is cheaper

Honestly, the G37's exterior doesn't excite me. The RWD and more power are more applealing though.

whats with the g37's?
if the car is soo appealing and makes the accord look so bad, why dont u just take ur accord, drive it down to infiniti and trade it in for g37. you can even pay a bit extra and get it in AWD.
then go make an account at the g37 forums.
i bet u anything down there they are complaining about how the bmw m3 or something is better then the g37 and why they should get it instead?
just like here we r complaining about how g37 is better lol

I agree its not a fair comparison either (Accord vs. G37)...I just sold my 350Z and got the Accord and the difference between RWD & FWD cars is like night and day.

Like someone else mentioned, an Accord coupe could be compared to an Altima coupe or maybe an Eclipse!

Friend of mine got G37XS sedan recently. As soon as he breaks it in we'll test em on closed road around here, I'll make a video.

But with 330hp and 7 speed transmission, even with half gas applied acceleration is faster than my V6 floored. :(

I don't really like the car though, much smaller inside and interior quality leaves much to be desired for extra 10 or so grand he paid.

As others have said--different ballpark. I owned an '06 G coupe with sport supsension and an '07 G35X, and even with the smaller 3.5 (compared with the 3.7 in the G37), those cars were MUCH faster than the Accord. Plus, there is nothing as distinctive--from the factory--than the exhaust note of the G coupe.

I can't knock the Gs, but sticker on my '07 with all of the packages (premium, navi and tech) was $40,500, and they came down a bit on the price. Sticker on the Accord was a little over 31K, and I got it for MUCH less than that. Way different price range. OF all the things the G had, I miss having the hard drive built into the audio system. Oh, and I also liked how the steering wheel moved with the gauge cluster.
