So this week my new 20s should be arriving as well as my Megan coilovers. With that being said, I've been researching tire sizes along with modified ride heights and am trying to find the ratio/forumla that would best mimmick the stock ride. I've done my homework and have found that with these tire sizes, I'll get this height WITHOUT ANY SORT OF DROP:

225/35/20 ~ 26.2
235/35/20 ~ 26.4
245/35/20 ~ 26.7
255/35/20 ~ 27.1
275/35/20 ~ 27.5

So I guess my biggest question would have to deal with two issues: I'm curious as to how low I'd be able to drop my stock height of my suspension before I'm rubbing and would 245/35/20 be the ideal tire size to purchase? I'd say easily 85-90% of my commuting on my coupe is highway miles, so with that being a factor do you think it'd be safe for me to go a little lower?

Any help is more than appreciated, heck even pointing me in the right direction would be fantastic, too. Thanks guys!

How wide is your rim? 8.5 or 9"?

Oh, sorry forgot to mention that. They're 4 20x9.

I think you could go 2 inches all the way around on 245/35/r20. I have H&Rs and my front which is 1.5 can go another .5 or .7 till touching tire and im on 20x8.5 225/35/r20. Hope this helps.

245/35/r20 sounds good and just don't slam your car. If it rubs, just know you can remove the fender well trim, but it is not a super great idea.

Spot on, bro. To be honest, I'm not looking for a severe slam... maybe 1.25 to 1.5, so I think that I should be solid with 245/35/20 with that kind of drop. Thanks for the info :)

Fender well trim? Like the inner fender lining?

Worst case scenario, I'll just roll the fenders, but trying to avoid that :)
Thanks for the help, man!

no problem. I just wish you woulda gotten ultra light weight 19's instead of heavy 20's. But, its you ride.

Well for starters our cars are FWD. Second, this is a daily driver, so I'd like to be able to rotate my tires.

Well its more about having all tires same size in your case . Cant wait for you to post pics. Having a staggerd setup its for looks on a front wheel drive.

Oh, for sure. I wasn't trying to knock the set up at all. Just for me, the car's aesthetics are obviously important, but functionality has to play a role, too.

Basically fender rolling just allows more clearance of the fender arch above your wheel.

To be completely safe, go 245/35/20, I rode that size for over a year (minus winter). I NEVER rubbed one time! never never never! Stock height of course. Now if the rims are 20x9, I would seriously consider some 255/35/20, I don't think you would be disappointed with the extra meat! I do think there is a member here that is running 255/40/20 but I have no experience with that.

If you had a +34 offset, do you think you'd have issues with rubbing?

Hey man, thanks for the info, you're pretty much running the exact set up I'll be running, except my wheels are 9" which I shouldn't expect to be an issue due to our HUGE wheel wells haha. Again, thanks for the info :notworthy

I was dropped over 2 inches on 19's with a staggered 8.5 and 9.5 setup. I never rubbed at all. The car handled potholes and speedbumps decent too. No issues here.

if you've got 20x9 all around... but want a 30 profile for the rear... doing 245/35-20 in the front... what size 2?5/30-20 would match correctly for the rear.

And by match I guess I should say have roughly the same look on the rim, not stretched but not too much tire overlap either?
