Hey folks,

My friend on 04 Civic coupe got into an accident (the front is damaged) and he would like to repair it (no collision insurance so it will be on his cash).
The quote he got from the shop was about 4K and he is looking into ways to save some bucks.

Basically he needs to replace the hood and left front fender, headlights, new radiator and bunch of other things are needed as well.

Guys, do you think it is worth trying to search for a hood at some specific salvage yard in NY area or it is OK to go with aftermarket one (suggested by a shop)?
He called several yards and no luck - do you know some "good" yards which specialized in Honda's in NY (Long Island) area?

I've never had such experience here (wish I never have though) so I am of little help in that.

Head over to the junk yard near Citi Field in Queens if you're near. You can pick up most of the parts cheap if you negotiate.

I would try LKQ parts. Not sure if they are in that neck of the woods but i've had pretty good luck with them before...
