WTF was the guy thinking.........IIRC, ALL deloreans were bare SS right?!.

*EDIT* found this on wikipedia.......

"The body design of the DMC-12 was a product of Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital Design and is expressed in brushed SS304 stainless steel. Except for three cars plated in 24-karat gold, all DMC-12s left the factory uncovered by paint or clearcoat.[20] Painted DeLoreans do exist, although these were all painted after the cars were purchased from the factory."

My bet is the owner couldn't afford to get the panels straight so he bondo'ed and painted them.

Stock ones aren't that hard to find. It's the ones that the BTTF nuts completely turn into DeLorean Time Machines that you can't find. There's one on sale for $60,000 featuring every part of the car in the movie. It's crazy.

IIRC, there were in fact 25 or so Deloreans that were painted red from the factory.

I'm on a BB so I can't see your reply pics. Yeah, this guy was cruising and pulled into a service garage.

There is a company that bought all the spare parts and dies they could get their hands on, I think you can buy new ones for 40K or 50k?? They supposedly did do sone minor updates. Carb to throttle body, maybe some suspension modernization? Can't remember exactly, saw a show about it on the TV.
