My car was side swiped, while sitting parked 2 months ago. So After 3.5 weeks in the body shop I finally got it back and its having alignment issues. (BTW, they did a great job on the body work and paint.) I had the body shop do two, 4 wheel alignments and the car still steers to the right. The mechanic from the body shop told me that it may be my tires are "too soft" or to rotate my tires. So this past weekend I rotated my tires and still it's having the same problem. The rims and tires only have about 3k miles on them. They were basically brand new when the accident happened. One of the rims were slightly scratched in the accident.

Any ideas on what can be wrong? I've called my insurance company and told them I wanted a 2nd opinion from a tire shop but haven't had a response. Anyone know how that works??

Any input would be great!!!

Thanks all!!!

The body shop mechanic is full of shit......They didn't fix the car correctly/completly and they are BS'ing you to get rid of you by blaming your tires. Contact your INS company ASAP and have them deal with the shady SOB's.

I hope by now that you have had it fixed by now.

Sone past info on my 97 ody.
It was hit in the front fender, same as you on the alignment issue. Took it back twice. They kept saying it fixed, finally blamed my tires.

Then I took it to three shops in alvin, one said that they could not align it, take it to a frame shop. One said it had only toe adjustment, and the other did an alignment, but it did not change anything.

Finally I took it to our local dealership, Honda of Clearlake, Best service arround as long as you don't let them up-sale you.

The tech ordered a shim kit.. Replaced a couple bushings, and aligned it perfect. They had it two days, and it drove perfect. Getting the right knowledgeable person to look at it is what is important. I had almost given up on the ody ever being right again.

Lately I have used NTB, they have a great guy doing their alignments. He could not get the kit to align the rear wheels, but told me where I could order it online. He installed it and it was perfect.

You just need to try differrent people. On my ody, two of the three places that did not get it right charged me for the priviledge.

I feel that the body shop would never have gotten it right, and told my wife to have it towed to a dealership next time.

Good luck on your hunt, Dan.
