: Post Pics of your [8th gen] coupe HIDs
indobladez2 07-20-2009, 04:58 PM Hopefully this isn't a repost, i search the forum didnt find anything...
but I thought this would be good way for newbs and people in the market for HIDs to decide what color/wattage to get.
(if necessary, move this thread to the Gallery)
Post the pic of your car with HIDs along with the Brand/Specs of the kit.

Athlete218 07-21-2009, 02:46 AM what would you guys say the best overall combo of HID kit is?
5000k or 6000k i want something w/ at least some blue tint.

5000k or 6000k i want something w/ at least some blue tint.
5000K is pure white light. The 6000K has a little blue in it. I've been researching for HID's myself. So far, I think the Retrosolutions digital HID kit is the best way to go.
NightHawk4 07-21-2009, 04:41 AM At first I loved how the 6000K was a little blue-ish. Now, I like how they are color shifting to a little more white. Blue-ish is cool at first, but it's much better to see at night.
indobladez2 07-21-2009, 11:52 AM im def going to upgrade to 55w 5000k once funds are sufficient.
i'll prob keep my old 35w ballasts and use them for foglights.

HereforInfo 07-21-2009, 01:15 PM Only lights that look remotely OEM are 4300k. Not an opnion. Fact. The closest to OEM you will get with the stock projectors is 4300k. It is equal to some of the less recent OEM. As far as looking like the BMW where they are more purplish, the projector lenses on the coupe are not designed for HIDS and you will never completely have this look. All together it is a matter of personal opinion in which you like the best. But if you are going for factory look (oem), understand you will never completely duplicate the look of modern OEM HID although you can get close.

BST07 07-26-2009, 09:59 AM Argh buyer's remorse is killing me! I bought Retro Solutions 35watt 5000k kit and is shipping to my home right now. I wanted the most white possible with almost no blue. Did I make the mistake of going 5000k instead of 4300k?

No, I don't think so. People say 4300K is the closet to an OEM color, but I'm pretty sure 5000K has the purest white.

Plus, give them time to break in the 50-100 hrs too, they'll get even whiter. The 5000k have a slight yellow hue until broken in, the 4300k always have a yellow hue.

What model Accord are you getting? If you don't get the trim with fog lights at least get one that has the wiring already in place.

That is true.
Penguin 08-28-2009, 12:59 AM Perhaps the 35w's have the shadow from the return wires as well, but since the 55w kits are soo bright, the contrast between the wire's shadow and the unobstructed light is more pronounced?

If anything, shouldn't it be less pronounced? since the reflected light would compensate for it, since it's brighter?
I mean, I will try switching the bulbs at some point when i have some time, but for the time being, it's not hurting me at all, so I dont mind it.
