Ok i have searched this forum for threads like this.

I'm about to install H11 Nokya hyperyellow*80w* into my 08 sedan fogs. and i heard somewhere that the factory limit is 50-60w? I've also heard that these lights will melt your housing, therefore you should get a wiring harness.

Well i ask if y'all did get wiring harnesses or not and what happened?

thanks!

I had mine for about 6 month now and don't have the harness. At the time i got mine there were no harness available. You'll be fine without it....

The 80W is probably advertised brightness, not how much the bulbs draw. One of those draw 55W but look like 80W deals.

you're better off going with a 35w for fogs.. I've heard 55w has the has the risk of getting too hot and potentially melting/warping the housing.

just my .02

Standard H11 bulbs are 55w, and thats what the fogs for our cars take. There's no risk of damaging anything if they truly draw 55w. I don't think you could even find 35w H11's.

I guarantee you can get H11 35w bulbs... did you even look at any websites? or even at most peoples sigs?.. 35w bulbs are in some peoples opinion recommended because it doesn't distort the color and the draw is less... I went with 55w 6000k for my lows because I wanted maximum output.. but when I get fogs I'm going to go with matching 35w 6000k.

:lmao:

The bulbs the OP and I are talking about are regular halogen bulbs. The bulbs in the links you provided are all h.i.d. bulbs. Yes, they'll fit in an H11 socket, but you need ballasts along with them for it to work. Totally different animal than regular halogens. Do a search for "Nokya hyperyellow" on google and see what comes up.

halogens bulbs will never come 35w.. thats just not enough draw for a halogen

no, it is actually 80W draw. nokya's are known to melt harnesses. but if you run them on DRL's you should be fine since its only half wattage.

Ive had mine on for 13 months and their always on, with my headlights. Ive have no melting problems.

Nonsense. Where did you get your information? There are 35W (and lower) halogens on the market. None destined for our cars, however.

Stage 1's are 55w draw with an 80w "output equivalent."

Also DRLs only run at 5w.
