POLARG 9005 / HB3 B1 HALOGEN EUROSTYLE IN EUROPEAN WHITE

POLARG B1 Halogen series headlight light bulb is pure JDM one of top 10 makers. Twice the brightness power with only stock wattage.

Polarg B1 bulbs are manufactured in Japan with the highest level of precision with top quality materials.

The power consumption is a mere 60W/55W but the output is 110W/100W! 40% brighter than stock halogens lights. Lights the road up in a bright white color. Brand new in sealed box from Polarg. Made in Japan.

Polarg B1 bulbs are manufactured in Japan with the highest level of precision with top quality materials.

And in my Googleing I saw a refference to the fact that they are using "HIR" technology. If this is true then Here is a High Beam (9005/9011) equivelent which is litterly plug and play in both coupes and sedans.

Anyone hear of these?

If they're claiming to use HIR technology, then you're better off just going to Toshiba HIR bulbs where you can be sure they're plug and play and the quality you except. Several members, including myself, have HIRs and I'm sure I speak for all of them when I say how great the output is.

they surely die 10x faster than standard halogen bulbs.

And this is based on what documented evidence? :dunno:

Oh I already have the Toshiba's (9012) for my low beam (see my signature), however, not a big fan of the trimming.

Are you talking about HIR's, this brand of bulb or what?

Here's something I found on a UK forum, and please note. I am looking to use HIR's to replace the PUTCO's, either Toshiba's or Polarg and the Polarg seems like an easier switch.

* HIR bulbs such as Toshiba HiR, Polarg Spec-R. These are Halogen bulbs with a silvered tip that reflects the infrared light back into the bulb, heating up the halogen gas more than the filament can on its own. They burn between 80% and 110% brighter than standard halogen at the same wattage (HIDs are between 80% and 300% brighter than standard halogens depending on the colour tempterature). By default they give a much whiter light than traditional Halogen bulbs but are also available with blue glass to give a more exotic look similar to the higher temperature HID bulbs. HIR bulbs are used in the Scion tC and the Camry among others.

* Toshiba bulbs aren't available aftermarket but a number of vehicle manufacturers sell Toshiba as their own. For instance, the John Deere AH211917 is actually a Toshiba HiD 9011.

* Xenon bulbs such as Philips X-treme, Osram Silverstar or Nightbreaker. These have a high pressure Xenon gas and a tungsten element. They burn up to 80% (Philips) or 90% (Osram) brighter and around 10% whiter than standard halogen bulbs and run at the same wattage.

Which is better - HIR or Xenon? There doesn't appear to be any consensus - please leave a comment if you have experience with both and have an opinion. One final note - any coating (blue, yellow or any other colour) will reduce the light output further.

My comment was based on this:

Though OP's product is not SilverStar, but, IMO it has similar life expectancy to the SilverStar bulbs.

This is due to the fact that it claims to deliver twice the brightness power with only stock wattage, much like SilverStar.

P.S. To stick with the diagram: It will die 4x faster than standard halogen. lol.

Karu, the Bills are the only NY team that plays in NY! Go Bills! The design of Polarg, however, is allegedly based on HIR technology and not that of the Sylvania. That is what I am trying to confirm. Really wish I could get a definite yea or nea on whether these bulbs really do use HIR tech.

These are two completely different technologies. HID companies not only claim that they deliver over twice the "brightness" of a halogen bulb, but they DO, at below stock wattage. In addition, the bulbs last LONGER than standard halogen.

I have a few friends who went with HIR (not the particular brand OP mentions), and they have been going strong for at least 2-3 years now. Look up how they work and you will understand it's not just a gimmick.

Ah! I see!

I think I spoke too early without knowing exactly what HIR technology is.

hey OP...did u end up installing this? I'm curious myself as how this might work...
I can't really find the money to drop on a full HID kit...and this seems like a good idea...

Not yet, I just put in the PUTCOs. BTW, you realize this is for the (9005) High Beam. HID not practical - can't flash HID's
