View Full Version : Would axles be covered under warranty??????? 06v6coupe1 07-26-2009, 05:55 PM Im not sure if axles are covered under warranty I doubt they are. I do have the extended warranty 100k miles??? Aviography 07-26-2009, 05:59 PM It should, it's part of the "power train". 06v6coupe1 07-26-2009, 06:11 PM It should, it's part of the "power train". that was my first thought too. im gonna call my dealer up cause ive been hearing clicking noise when i turn and its the passenger side. Also would having rims and springs void my warranty or should I just put my oem 17" and take it in ?? Aviography 07-26-2009, 06:15 PM I can't see a dealer using aftermarket rims as an excuse to decline warranty, but it can't hurt to put the OEM rims on. The springs "may" cause you heartburns if the dealer is PITA type, you should find a dealer who's willing to work with you, although I hear American Honda only pays flat-rate fee to cover warranty repairs, and that's why dealers prefer non-warranty claim work over warranty claim work, sounds stupid for American Honda to treat their dealers that way........ BLCKFLSH 07-26-2009, 07:02 PM The service manager can always claim lowering the car puts the axles in more of a bind. I think you are going to have a hard time with warranty on this, but give it a shot. cobra94563 07-26-2009, 08:56 PM if not, rockauto has new ones for $51. About 1- 1.5 hr to replace. good luck. pawel 07-27-2009, 04:38 AM i would definitely put the stock springs back in if you will go for warranty work on axles, this way they cannot say anything. fireballer44 07-27-2009, 06:33 AM I can say for sure that the axles are listed under the powertrain warranty, I happened to notice that when I was looking through my warranty manual on Friday. They are not too hard to replace yourself, I replaced one on my 91 and the worst part was getting it out of the tranny. I think part of this was I was afraid to break something anyway. 06v6coupe1 07-27-2009, 05:04 PM I can say for sure that the axles are listed under the powertrain warranty, I happened to notice that when I was looking through my warranty manual on Friday. Yea Ive replaced many axles on my integra :thumbsdow and its pita. Well I think im gonna wait one month more until the new honda dealership opens down the street from me hopefully they are willing to work with me. The dealer I bought my car at and where i take it in for service is a pita they were telling me(last year) that honda was not gonna cover my 3rd gear problem but they did (TWICE ON TWO DIFF OCCAsIONS) 06v6coupe1 07-27-2009, 05:05 PM i would definitely put the stock springs back in if you will go for warranty work on axles, this way they cannot say anything.
