So I started the "Saint Louis/Midwest Region" social group and we've got 11 members so far. I sent out invites to 30 people, give or take a couple. I know that not everyone checks the forum everyday, so I'm still hoping for more members. The sooner we get more people together, the sooner we can start getting serious about a meet because I don't think it's worth having people driving in from Chicago, or Iowa, or Arkansas just for 10 or so cars. I decided to mess around with a poster (just for the hell of it) and here's what I have so far. My vote is for #2;

I might make it to STL again sometime this summer or fall, but I'm not sure if or when at this point.

I know there's still no date or time for when this will happen, but here is what I'm proposing. I think that if we actually have details and a location and everything, that people will consider coming down for a meet more.

Top-left Picture: Queeny Park, the location for the actual meet/BBQ
Bottom-left Picture: The school that we will meet at, Southwest Middle School, and drive as a group to the park from. The park is about 10 or so minutes away from the school. I thought it would be kind of a cool sight for not only us, but others to see as we all drive to the park. All eyes on us (and the Accords! :naughty:) The red arrows indicate where we line up the cars at before we make our way to the actual meet location. If the school is busy, we can always group up in the parking lot, indicated by the red rectangle.
Top-right Picture: The route from the school (Southwest Middle School) to the park (Queeny Park).
Bottom-right Picture: The possible areas to park/take photos. The lot farthest down in the picture would probably be the most ideal because it is somewhat tucked away and not as busy as the other lots. I'll have to double check on the pit locations, but we can make a BBQ out of it if everyone is interested, as it has been suggested! We can take pictures at the park and they should turn out great, but it is not the most scenic spot in the world. If it turns out that a majority of people want to find a better spot to take pictures, there is another park about 10 minutes away that has a plethora of places with excellent surroundings, it is a very heavily-wooded area (I didn't plan the meet here in the first place because the parking lots are too spread out and there is not one good lot for us to all be in at the same time).


I hope that this helps convince more people to come down for the meet. I think that if we get the details ironed out, we could have a great turnout. Details about the location may be tweaked as we go along, but as for now, we have a location and an idea of how it will work. There is still no date or suggested dates, all I'm waiting on is more people to join the "Saint Louis/Midwest Region" social group, or to say on here that they would consider going. As soon as that happens, we should be good to go.

My parents are in the process of moving form Michigan to Saint Louis. They just bought a house in the suburbs and I am trying to find a time to head there and see the house. Very much agreed sir :notworthy. I think it might look funny if we all had bikes on the back of our Accords (we can always take them off once we get there), but they also have some really good biking/jogging trails if you out-of-towners didn't want to leave for a while lol. And like any meet, we can't please anyone, but I'll try and at least include you 2k6 since you've helped out a lot and plus, you live in St. Louis, so how could we have a St. Louis meet w/o you? lol :screwy:

Location: We will meet at Parkway Southwest Middle School and drive over to Edgar M. Queeny Park as a group (just so others can see and so we can show off :naughty:)

What: Once we get to Edgar M. Queeny Park, we can talk and take pictures for a while and then we can either barbecue there (this will need to be decided beforehand so that we can reserve the pit/pavilion) or we can go to a restaurant and eat. If any of you decide you want some night pictures or a different background for pictures, I can take you to a few other places around town that I know of. I can also get you to Ted Drewes to have some "custard" or any other St. Louis things you want to see!

When: We will meet at Parkway Southwest Middle School around 11:30 AM and drive over to Edgar M. Queeny Park. Once we've talked for a while and taken some pictures, we'll either eat (if we've reserved the picnic site) or head over to the restaraunt. Once we are done eating and you've taken all the pictures you want to take, you are free to leave and cruise St. Louis, go to other places for pictures with me, or head home!
