2010 MDX...

My mom was gonna trade her 08 for the new ZDX but shes not sure now. I like both models (ZDX more) but this new grill works best on the MDX more than any I think.

What's your take?

The grill actually doesn't look too bad on the MDX, I just don't like it on any of their other cars. It's way too bulky and pointed.

Agreed. The TL grill is just fugly IMO. Actually the TL its self is fugly. I like the MDX alot. Was debating on trading in my Accord for an MDX, but decided to keep my Accord.

I prefer the old MDX grille/design.. but this new one isn't bad, especially when compared to the TL. The TSX grille isn't as offensive either.

The TL's is the worse.

I am considering getting a 2009 leftover RDX in black with the optional 2010 19" wheels. Does anyone have any knowledge of this model and year?

I prefer the old mdx grill. Loos like hond is resting more of the " how ugly can we vet before the koolaid runs out" plan.

I can't stand the new design of the MDX. The older style was beauty on wheels!

They did a nice job with it. I'm not sure I love the lower air intakes, however.

As for the TL, I was on the fence until my boss picked one up in PMM and I got a chance to get an up close look at it-now I'm completely sold.

The interior of the new TL is beautiful. I've always said that. But the exterior needs work.

Painting the beak helps a lot.

Painting the rear beak to match and debadging is a must though.

For those who don't want to have to paint the beak, white IMO is the color to get. The beak doesn't seem to stand out as much. Add a body kit and the looks improve a lot.

What RonJon would like to do to it...

I think the 2010 MDX is a major improvement over the hideous shield-like grille on the current MDX.
That thing is even too ugly to be on the front of a Subaru.

That thing is even too ugly to be on the front of a Subaru.I agree. The MDX was one of the first vehicles to hit the road with the new chrome scythe, and it was hideous, just like it has been on every other Acura vehicle. Glad to see that with the mid-generation update, Acura's bringing it back around to looking pretty reasonable.

Hopefully they have the same luck with the rest of the line when they get to their mid-generation freshenings. Otherwise, the scythe has got to go.

I'm not a fan of painting the grille surround as well (you need some contrast), but the painted beak on its own looks great. Not so sure on the rear one though-again you need contrast.

i dont understand the RDX. stylewise i think it's great, and the turbo four would make sense, EXCEPT that it gets worse fuel economy than a lexus RX350, that is much bigger and has a v6... :dunno:

Hey Members:
Take a good look at that grill and sit back and imagine it on other models of cars..what a great looking grill to fabricate into another model of vehicle..Try it! Sit back on look at it and see if you see what I see...Dang that's alot of SEE's I typed :)

Acura really needs to pay attention and adopt that, if they're going to insist on the beak for the foreseeable future.
