SO infrequently when i am pushing the car i get the ! warning light flashing in 3rd gear..... and what seems like a loss in power...

otherwise it powers right through as it should. it is very infrequent....

it doesnt pop out or shift in hard... but once its engaged its like it slows up for a second and then comes back....

any ideas?

or is this the 3rd gear problem where they have to take out the tranny and resynchronize?

What model and engine are we talking about?

I can guess V6 6 speed, but what year?

Have you tried to see what it does with traction control off? :P

well the thing is the tires dont spin... which is weird because normally the light only flashes when the tires spin.... which i hardly ever do.....

have to do some serious beating the make the tires spin on the 3rd shift i find.....


havent tried with the tcs off.....

Sounds like you're losing traction and your stability system is being activated to bail you out out of a skid. Your tire are not new, I assume? The stability system cuts power or activates the brakes to save when you skid or exceed the limits of the car. Mine does it periodically especially when it rains.:thmsup:

yeah the tires can spin and you not feel it.
