View Full Version : honda chrome rims
princess 10-01-2003, 01:16 PM It was announced to me yesterday that my '03 Accord is getting Honda's chrome rims. I am very excited about it! I can't find a picture. There's none at honda.com & none in the brochure. We're getting the 16 spoke, 16" ones that are one of the Honda accessories. The dealer has nothing in stock to see. All I can find is drawing. Anyone have pictures to share???
Thanks!
hondacuraworld 10-02-2003, 06:25 AM I can probably dig up a pic for you, but nothing that's email capable. If you have a fax though, that will work too :)
princess 10-02-2003, 07:13 AM Thanks!
That would be great! I'll PM my number to you. We've tried so hard with all the Hondas to have all Honda parts on them. I know there's prettier rims out there. I saw some Honda ones, for coupes I think, that the openings looked like flower petals. The ones I have in mind look like the Pilot ones except the gray areas are open.
Wardsweb 10-02-2003, 07:18 AM I have not been able to find any 16 spoke OEM wheels. I've seen 10, 12, 14, 18 but no 16. How about something like this? These are 16" 2004 Coupe option.

princess 10-02-2003, 07:24 AM I think that's very close to the "drawing" I have. I think the center is less starrish, but the spoke/holes look the same. I know I want them, I just don't know what they look like! Sounds stupid, huh? I just was disappointed by the dull look of the alloys with the dark blue car. If the center cap H is gold, I will have it changed to the same blue as the car. I'm not that fond of the "gold emblem" stuff. It looks nice, it's just not me.
Thanks again!
I found a part # 5996319
Wardsweb 10-02-2003, 07:33 AM More like this 2003 Sedan option in chrome?
princess 10-02-2003, 07:39 AM now that's it! Where'd you find it? I've been all over looking.

princess 10-02-2003, 08:32 AM I looked at the products they have. Their prices are OK.
The chrome 16" they have has 12 spokes. The drawing I have from the parts dept. at the dealer is 14 spoke. I thought it was 16, but I was mistaken. I wonder if the drawing is messed up, or if there are 2 different models. They look pretty much the same, the 14 spoke seems a bit flatter in the center with a small center cap. The 12 spoke has a ridge around the center, also with a small cap. I'm sure we'll get the 14 spoke anyway, I just like seeing what we buy before actually buying it. That site did have the "flower" ones, but they're smaller & I'm not doing all new tires too. We nearly did that on the '02 to go to 16" rims & it came with 15". I just couldn't justify the cost for a car had knew would be traded up soon. I plan to hang onto this one for a while! I will hang onto the original rims for trade in time. The next one may use 16's too.
Thanks for all you help with this. Since we buy most parts at the dealer, I rarely can find stuff outside. When they arrive it will be another adventure! The Accord will be wheel-less in the garage while 8 rims & 4 tires get hauled in for mounting & balancing. I'll go with them, just so I don't have to see my baby apart! He'll do this on a day off, so I won't be stuck at home with a wheel-less car!! I don't think I could handle that!:sorry:
Wardsweb 10-02-2003, 10:00 AM This chrome 14 spoke?
princess 10-02-2003, 12:11 PM Yes, I believe it is! They didn't have that one on the site you gave. Where did you find it?
Wardsweb 10-02-2003, 12:21 PM same site
princess 10-02-2003, 12:29 PM They look shinier in your picture..... the site says alloy, doesn't that mean not chrome? I realize that chrome is a coating, but normally they say "chrome" when shiny & alloy when they're not, right?
ncelk 01-03-2005, 04:54 PM I know that this is an old thread, but I certainly did not want to start a new one.
I am wondering if anyone has the original Honda wheels that are chromed (not the accessory ones as mentioned in this thread).
The chrome wheels are really growing on me. I have even considered getting a set for the Pilot, but I am trying to keep the stock look as much as possible.
I have searched the threads here and did not see the OEM wheels in chrome.
princess 01-03-2005, 05:34 PM There's places that will chrome them for you... Where I bought the Accord had it done to some rims on their lot cars. They had too large of an area for it to me.... shows the dirt & imperfections too easy.
SSMV6 07-19-2005, 10:16 AM I was just surfing for parts on hondaautomotiveparts.com and noticed the 16" OEM chrome wheels on special for $95/ wheel! (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/specials.jsp) Looks like it's the same as your's princess.
I got no idea how much they're charging for shipping, though.
princess 07-19-2005, 11:22 AM They sure do!!!
Wow!
Being heavy, shipping could be quite a bit....but that's a great price!!

Well princess where are those rims! Let's see a picture of them!
princess 11-08-2005, 10:12 AM I thought I'd already put it on here.... :dunno: now the site won't let me...
Maybe later it will.
Just promise no harrassment for not having the tire "dressed" :lmao: It' sbeen done since then & so has the harrassment! :D

You just had to show that didn't you? :D
I want them (drool, slobber).
princess 11-08-2005, 02:14 PM Yep, that's what they look like..... but I doubt if they're the ONLY dealership that has them....maybe the only one for 95$ though.
I've only seen them in person on one other Accord. It was a black '03 sedan V6.
hermann 11-08-2005, 02:24 PM Princess do you know if they still have these available.
Dan
princess 11-08-2005, 02:37 PM No, but you can find out by phone.... being the stock size, they weren't a huge hit since people want the over sized ones.... I wanted to stay stock for 2 reasons, one I didn't have to buy tires yet & the other was to not make any handling changes since I LOVE the way the V6 handles!!
The alloys are bagged, boxed & rebagged in the shed.... for trade in later....
princess 11-08-2005, 02:43 PM I just looked up his dealer parts info.. they say they have 3 rims... :dunno: I wonder why 3???? I guess someone broke one & so they only bought 1 replacement.... :) I can't get any other dealer's info.

Someone bought one to use as a spare tire?? :dunno:
hermann 11-08-2005, 03:22 PM This one smelled a bit fishy. :puke: Thanks to all for the help. A great forum
As you can see I am still searching for a good deal on 16" wheels and tires. Trying to decide whether to get aftermarket wheels and Yokohama Avid H4s tires from the
Tire Rack or save up about another $300 for 7-spoke EX-v6 wheels. I can get the Honda Wheels for $655 from HandA Accessories including the shipping charge. The worst part is that I like the looks of both a lot. :dunno:
