View Full Version : 19" HFP tire question
sh1nn3r 08-05-2009, 08:59 AM I just ordered 19" hfp tires and they should be here tomorrow. My question is about tire size. I know the recommended tire size is 245/40/19 but my question is what if i went with a 245/35/19. What would this change how would it perform? The reason I ask is the price difference would be a lot better for me if I went with a 245/35/19.
My car is a 2009 honda accord coupe lx-s red. If this makes a difference.
Danielc409 08-05-2009, 09:27 AM You cant put 19 hfp's on a red lx-s, sorry man.
No but 245/40 might ride better than the 35 series, I know a few people who have the 40 series maybe they could offer some input.
Gosha 08-05-2009, 09:30 AM 35 series will look like a small tire, i learned my lesson. get the 40 profile. if you arent dropped it will even worse
sh1nn3r 08-05-2009, 09:41 AM I don't plan on dropping the car as of yet. I have only had it for two months. Would the 245/35/19 throw the speedometer off?

Apparently, whoever created the DriveAccord banner on the top disagreees :lmao:
Gosha 08-05-2009, 09:48 AM It will throw it off slightly. trust me, get 245/40, you arent so dropping it will look small, you are already forking out big money, finish the job right
sh1nn3r 08-05-2009, 10:12 AM I agree with you. Thank you for you're input.
el Vato 08-05-2009, 10:27 AM 245/35/19 is actually the correct tire size. Honda recommends 245/40/19 and everyone here jumps on that bandwagon. Using the tire size calculator indicates the 245/40 tire is larger than stock. See for yourself.

Gosha 08-05-2009, 10:51 AM Doesnt change the fact the car will look ridiculous with a smaller looking tire, thats the point here. He wont be dropping it so he is better of. If i were to go the second time around, and if i wasnt dropped i would get 245/50/55 perhaps to fill in the wheel well
sh1nn3r 08-05-2009, 11:08 AM This up for debate now?
bruceleroy 08-05-2009, 11:11 AM yea go recommended
Danielc409 08-05-2009, 11:12 AM Smaller tire = feel more bumps. And it's not bandwagon if its recommended by the manufacturer of the car you are driving.
and Kaitlina we all know thats photoshopped ;)

jkcheng122 08-05-2009, 11:53 AM That car on top of the forums isn't LX =) It's like a V6 since it has chrome door handles.

Kinda what I was thinking
sh1nn3r 08-05-2009, 12:07 PM Throw some fog lights on my car, chrome handles, moon roof, and minus the two tail pipes that's what my ride would look like :)
ind0fo0 08-05-2009, 02:49 PM Anyone got any HFP 19's on black coupe pix? TIA

Sorry, only a sedan here, but they're very very nice wheels... The wheels will come with a new door jam sticker showing capacity/pressure etc for the 19's.... get the 245/40's and you'll be just fine. Look at the Falken f452's, best tire in that price point that I could find. Under $200 each.

look at my threads....
sh1nn3r 08-08-2009, 04:11 AM Thanks for the info guys. I ordered 19" Bridgestone Potenza re760 sport tires 245/40/19. I had them installed yesterday. The car looks amazing now. I will post some pictures later.
artbell 08-08-2009, 08:23 AM Why cant you put 19 hfp wheels on a lxs? Is the wheel well smaller or is it a question of suspension or something?

I'm pretty sure he was joking. The rims fit perfectly and look awesome on my car that is a lx-s.
