Another Accords Gone Wild: Jerzee shore styleee outing! :D

What's the general weather like on/along the mid-Atlantic coast in later September?

uhohkaitlina
08-17-2009, 09:33 AM
It's honestly not too bad in September. It's around high 60s and low 70s on average. Being that we are in the 90s now that will probably be considered freezing for us so I doubt that many people will be going into the water. But maybe we will be lucky and get a warm front. And NO RAIN!

Can be anywhere from low 60's - lower 80's, really hit or miss.

Unfortunately I have another car show already on that Sunday in Long Island. Unless that date gets moved up I won't be able to make it :(

I thought we were all rained out for the rest of the summer once it hit the 90s, but now it looks like we're gonna get rain every day for the rest of the week.

EXCUEEZIE. No Kevin. You're coming. You d!cked around on me for the last one you will be there or I will set you on fire. (just kidding but you'll make me cry if you dont)

count me in for this one..and can i bring friends? You can bring friends, but if they are bringing their cars let me know so I save a spot for them. Trying to make this a mostly accord meet this time though. (BUT THE TRUCKS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME) haha.

meh, actually the hotter is is the more likely it is for a storm to arise. and the hotter it is the more dangerous they can get. however, there are only scattered tstorms on the radar. they are hit or miss. some parts of jersey will get them and others wont. let's hope your section doesn't!! (and mine too!)

as Jarrod said V6 over i4 all day, J > K

I know, but Jarrod does not get a maximum mpg like I do, though we share the same Gen.

My record is 39.65 mpg on a 200-mile trip with my I4 5A sedan! :jumping:

I have not since been able to duplicate this mpg record since 2006, but I have tried!!

MakingWaves
08-18-2009, 01:16 PM
BTW, from June 1st to today, my meticulous gas records show I purchased a grand total of $213.02 of gas (87 octane) for my I4!!!

So, while I don't have the power of a V6, my VTEC is indeed sipping fuel AND saving me money!!

While I agree on the surface the i4 has inherent advantages, my J33 (.3 litres more of displacement from a standard J30) averages about 37 MPG on the highway when staying in the lower cam profile due to less restrictions and lighter forged rotating parts (proven using trip computers). and Paul (the engine man from VA), has reported/recorded 43+ MPG on J36 engines in the same circumstances. Best of both worlds...

I would LOVE to see 43+ mpg!! If not for sole bragging rights!! :lmao: I have a J36 engine, right? It's a 2004 EX-L I4 5A sedan.

Sorry I wish I could come but 2 problems, as of september 15-17 i will no longer have my accord, yep i am getting rid of this car. I am replacing it with a 2010 Jetta TDI which gets much more MPG (31-41 epa 55 actual) and comes with a much better warranty and includes service for 3yr 36k and is cheaper than the accord to, but comes with more? lol. But after theses last few weeks we now are suing honda america, the dealership and the body shop the dealership sub-contracted the worked to be performed, and my father in law is doing this all for free (yay) but anyway, sorry I couldn't make it to the first one!

ok - on Saturday, 9/19/2009 there is a meet in Sunken Meadow Park, in Queens NY (long island, same ish). This meet is being hosted by TCC and NYPOC (preludes), They had a meet back in July in the same spot...its like 6 or 8 bucks to get it, i missed it cause I was in VA (same weekend as your first beach meet.) Regardless, its looking like its gonna be about 75 cars, theree is a thread on this in this section
http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=35313

theres the link, sign up and come.

Its all the same meetup, TCC boys will be there, I'll be there, BigJoe and the preludes will all be present, so just get your ass to the meet. YES you have to drive near NYC, no you don't need to drive in Manhattan.

I don't have any classes on Livingston this semester but I hate LSH. I set up my schedule so that all my classes are on Busch and I have Fridays off.

I wished I lived close enough to commute. A 45 minute drive twice a day would take up too much time. So what do you do in between classes if you don't have a dorm or apartment to chill at?

I know, My rims ar 45 offset, will clear a bbk and are durable as hell. :( But i want something polished. The dark look is sorta boring. I need to be talked out of it.

Right now i have a 12" rotor in the front. Which is a big upgrade from the 11.1" that come on the 5AT. Next on my list is the GS 2 pot calipers in anodized black, and a rear relocation kit.
Recent pic... BTW thats my coilovers in winter mode (highest threads) lol

Damn, glad your alive and in recovery mode. Glass shards in your eye? I hope your over exaggerating, because i had some plastic shrapnel in my eyeball last winter when a freak accident occurred with my dremel and the piece somehow maneuvered under the safety goggles. I used plastic tweezers to get the debris out then went to an eye doctor to make sure i didnt have any microscopic specks left. Anyway i hope your ok.

Oh and now its time to go russian on the bitch, go to physical therapy, russian physical therapy and get money.

I wish i was exaggerating, they are super small and should disolve over time, I have to go for a ct brain scan once a week for the next 3 monthes to monitor my progress.

She had insurance, I'll worry about that later. She was 20 years old and walked away no harm. My buddy also has cracked ribs and a shattered foot. I feel semi-slow I guess isthe best way to put it, my reaction to questions is very delayed i just hope this goes away over time.

As I was reading today's updates for this thread, my jaw dropped. Kevin, I'm praying that you make a full and speedy recovery! Take all the time you need away from work, from driving, from looking at your PC monitor, to make sure your eyes heal and other injuries as well. I speak for all of us here on DA that we are praying for your full recovery from this accident.

Did you throw up at any time after the accident, few times perhaps? If you did then it would indicate brain damage in one form or another, thats usually the first sign of trouble.

Enrique cmon now you don't go swimming anyways haaha..

This is the problem that I have with the concept of a "rain date."

There really is no way to communicate to everyone on DA whether or not the meet is cancelled, being that people leave at different times and all that. I would feel bad if we rescheduled and someone didn't check with DA in the morning and they drove all the way down there just to find that no one is there. Also, the longer we go the colder it's gonna get.. I'm going either way. If it's raining when I wake up that doesn't mean it will be raining an hour later.. it's too unpredictable.

Lobster night at the dining hall. There was about a 20 minute wait to get in because everyone brought their families.

It's more of a scrape about a foot long and 3 inches wide on the bottom of the bumper. You can even see it standing up.

Earlier today, I updated the Belmar Police and Public Works with our total of 30 parking spots along the boardwalk. I will again update them on Friday eve (tomorrow).

It appears that I may be unable to attend this. My sister is making a surprise visit home this weekend, and she is bringing my 7-month-old nephew. I had no idea of her visit until a few days ago, and she is coming home because her school is closed on Monday. I might need to babysit him during the day on Sunday, with a car seat out of the question. :paranoid:

I'll text Kaitlin once I talk to my sister on Saturday to see if I can make this meet. Kaitlin probably knows how cute my nephew is, so who can say no to him?!!

Just received a warning from Belmar PD I need to convey to all members:

"Paul, I spoke with the Belmar Public Works and, at your last Jersey Shore event, the cars along the boardwalk were backed in which was not what was agreed upon. This is a safety issue. All the cars must be parked properly facing the boardwalk, not backed in. If the cars are not parked properly on September 27th, we will be forced to shut the event down." [my italics for emphasis.]

Kaitlin, please emphasize this on the first post of this thread. Thanks!!
