Alpine type-r components are pretty good. I've had them before. 6.5s will fit only with an adapter though.(requires drilling) Thats the most recent mod I did. Dont know bout the Polks. Why not go Alpine all the way?

I beleive 5.25 will fit. I'd still go with a 6.5. though. You'll be happy with a 6.5

Crutchfield said these wouldnt fit my Gen 7 Sedan, I had to use a Saber Saw to make the holes a little larger, only had to trim a small amount, didnt need an adaptor either, the magnets are pretty close to the glass when its rolled down but it doesnt touch, just measure from the glass to the door panel, and measure the magnet to the back of the speaker. Im pretty much satisfied with the rear oem speakers, btw, no need for a componant speaker up front, you already have a componant speaker, when you replace the door speaker you still have the tweeter in the dash, but its your car and your $$, its really an easy installation. weeeee

Dumb question #324-
Am I correct in assuming that the front door panels must be removed to access the speakers?

Yes they have to be removed but it's really easy. Check out this post... http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2722 I wrote up detailed instructions for changing out both the fronts and the rears.
BTW... Hey Mv774.... Ever heard of punctuation? It makes posts a whole lot easier to read. You'll also find that more people respond when they don't have to take a lot of time to decipher posts without it.

Thanks Jeff,
I should have followed my own advice to someone else in that thread " The search feature is your friend". The dumb ass award is now hanging on my wall.
