Hi people, 1999 1.8is 4 cyl petrol UK model.
When driving pulling away generally first thing in the morning or trying to get a quick getaway from a junction the motor tends to bog down, with a loss of power, Ive changed the dizzy cap and rotor arm, but still the problem persists, I,m thinking along the lines of a bunged up fuel filter possibly any suggestions?
Also does anyone know who makes the brake rotors for Honda ie OEM parts, is it Brembo, I phoned my local Honda dealer and they didnt know ( more likely they knew but wouldnt tell me as I would just go out and but the non Honda branded rotors if they told me).

brembo is not OE, but many have good luck. Just make sure they are real brembo.

Replacing the fuel filter is a good idea. Since you mention brakes and bogging down, are you sure your brakes are not dragging?

Have you done the other tune up items (plugs, wires etc)? If these do not help I would have the compression checked.

You might get more help if you post what motor you have specifically...The 6th gen in america does not come with a 1.8. Maybe that motor is in the civic?
