CDsDontBurn 09-22-2009, 08:09 PM you should get an rx8. 1.3L engine 232HP (~205Whp) naturally aspirated. not very fuel efficient though, lol.
09^CBP^6MT 09-22-2009, 08:59 PM Damn rotorhead.......My vote is the mazdaspeed3. Spanked the rwd genesis coupe in the latest Motortrend. The MZR motor is very nice, and there is a ton of bolt on's. I personally liked the last gen body style over the latest. BTW Seven Stock is this weekend at Mazda headquarters in Irvine. HUGE rotary RX-7 meet/show if you guys are bored.....http://www.sevenstock.org/

09^CBP^6MT 09-23-2009, 09:36 AM My hommie at work is dropping in my 88 RX7 turbo 2 motor and tranny in his AE86. I was making around 320 rwhp @ 10lbs of boost (that came in around 1200 rpm and I had 10lbs at 1800 rpm to 8k) and could easily bury the needle at 170 mph. He will be close to 800 lbs lighter, the car should be a hand full to drive. My bet is he will be turning down the boost so it will be drivable hehe.

Dent masters of CA.......John Cole Cell # 213 703-2792
We can get a better deal if we get a few guys (4) that need their cars gone over at the upcoming meet. He will come meet us and go to town on the dings and dents. Sorry for the lagging, I just talked to him today. Let start a list of people that want the PDR service.

Kiribati 09-30-2009, 08:35 PM I have rock chips in my paint. Can he take care of that? :P

What color is the car. I got a few touch up kits I have been collecting.
Kiribati 10-01-2009, 04:52 PM Taffy white.
What's the price range on the guy that you invited to come check out the dings and dents?
The ding I have can't be bigger than a quarter. Barely noticeable...That's why I'm not sure
if I want to pay to get something so insignificant fixed. Stingy? Maybe...
Drowzee 10-01-2009, 05:08 PM Yeah I might see how much it cost to fix mine as well. Mine is probably the size of a quarter also, but my paint is chipped and the dent is on my fender wheel crease, so I don't know what to expect.
09^CBP^6MT 10-01-2009, 05:11 PM If we can get 4 cars, it will be 65 a dent or 120 for the whole car and he will come to us at the next meet. I will grab some TW touch up tomorrow when I grab my check.

idk how different it is for 6th gen vs. 8th gen mounting/locking positions for the front rotors. but, on my 6th gen, all that holds the front rotors in place is two screws. take off the wheel, take off the caliper held in by two bolts, then you have full access to the rotor. you will see two phillips head screws, unscrew them and the rotor comes right off. you might need to use the butt end of a screw driver or a rubber mallet from behind the rotor to get it out if necessary (like if it's suck on due to road grime or w/e other crap get stuck there) and it'll come right out.
the rear rotors i don't quite remember how they came out on my 6th gen, but i do remember it was still quite easy to pull out.
again, i don't know if it's any different in an 8th gen, but that's how it is on the 6th gen.

CDsDontBurn 10-07-2009, 10:43 AM For real. All the BMWs I see around here drive w/o fronts so why not my coupe?
when i had my rx8 i was driving around w/o my front plate the entire time i owned it. then, there were a few cops on motorcycles doing some sneaky speed checking out in pomona. they didn't get me for speeding cuz i wasn't. instead they gave me a fix-it ticket for not having my front plate. i had the front plate in my car's trunk since the day i got it, and i also had a few zip ties with me since i had finished working on a client's computer with me. i asked the cop if i could just tie it down to the front of my car (california law says it must be on the front of the car securely tied down....it doesn't say how it must be tied down ;) ), and he said no and wrote me a fix-it ticket.
needless to say, i got out of that fix-it ticket because roughly 14hrs. later, i totaled my car :(. that was a bad day :(:wavebye:
I've been pulled over once for not having it on; I explained that I just came from a photoshoot and will be planning to put it back on as soon as I get home -- Which was less than a mile away haha. If you have a camera with you, just have a few nice pics of the car and show it to him, MAKE SURE YOUR CAR IS CLEAN OR THIS WILL NOT WORK!
Our cars are photogenic, they will understand
(I didn't lie to the cop, I was actually doing a photoshoot with my buddies old 97 Mustang GT, which is on this forum)
Edit:
Okay, There are 2 people that want to install coilovers, and 1 Installing Brake Rotors.
Do we all want to do this at the same time? -- We should all figure out a good date/time for all of us. Maybe do a small photoshoot right after? :D
CDsDontBurn 10-07-2009, 06:34 PM i think i might take off my front plate. i find it to be a bit of an eye sore. but, idk if there will be any holes going through the bumper or not. wouldn't be surprised if there are some. would removing the front plate require me to remove the bumper as well?
Not at all, there are 2 bolts under the mount that holds the license plate, undo those and it should come off, if it does not, then you need to remove the license plate to remove the screw that is screwed in your bumper.
CDsDontBurn 10-07-2009, 07:23 PM that applies to the 6th gen? remember, i have a 6th gen accord :p.
Honda247 10-07-2009, 07:35 PM There is one bolt holding the bottom bracket. The bottom bracket looks like a Y. You will have two hole in the bumper. You may even have a flat spot on your bumper where the plate goes.

that sounds like a good idea.
im so down just let me know when
and you gotta help me do those interior lights you put in , they set off the interior pretty good.
Chris_88 10-07-2009, 09:37 PM Sounds good who's the other guy who needs coilovers installed?
Chris_88 10-07-2009, 09:54 PM What days are good for you guys? I'm free saturday.

CDsDontBurn 10-08-2009, 10:06 AM There is one bolt holding the bottom bracket. The bottom bracket looks like a Y. You will have two hole in the bumper. You may even have a flat spot on your bumper where the plate goes.

This is a 1998.
i still can't get over that 6th gen wanting to look like an 8th gen . it does however give me an idea of what the front is going to look like. hopefully my 2000 model won't have that ugly looking flat spot. if it does, ill just stick to having the front plate on =\
O ya, sorry >.< So used to all the 8th Gens on the forum haha, but its a similar process :)
Just find where the license plate holder is connected to, simple as pie :D
lol, i hope so!

We can always get a 626 meet together. I've been "trying" (not really) to organize one
but haven't gotten really anyone actually LIVING in the 626 interested or even reading
on whatever small meet there might be. I only know two or three of us DA members that
live in the 626.
I live in Temple City so a drive to anywhere in the 626 is no inconvenience. But that's another
issue that we can deal with in the separate 626 thread.
Well I got screwed by work again. I won't be able to make it, I will be in Alaska till the 26th. I got PMM and TW touch up paint if anyone one wants drop by and pick them up from me, for the guys that need it.I never got your name, but thanks again for picking up some TW touchup. Shame your work had
to get in the way of your weekend and the meetup. There's always going to be another meetup,
we can deal with the touchup paint then.
woody4364 10-08-2009, 12:22 PM When we set these meets up, we always ask for suggestions as far as locations. No one suggested anything so were going with the same one we used last time. The park is not "ghetto" It's in a nice quiet residential area. And as far as driving distance, Honda247(Francis) comes all the way from Fresno. So none of us from socal should have a problem driving an hour or so to a meet.

Chris_88 10-08-2009, 03:21 PM What's wrong with the mall parking lot where we had the meet in february? Isn't it nearby? I just get paranoid of curbs :paranoid:
UJEAN 10-08-2009, 04:29 PM haha kiribati 626 meet sounds good too :]
DANGEROUS 10-08-2009, 05:22 PM sorry guys, i didnt mean to call THIS location ghetto, i was just simply stating we should have a meet in the 626 area thats not ghetto, another time. haha. my bad.
Kiribati 10-08-2009, 05:36 PM What's wrong with the mall parking lot where we had the meet in february? Isn't it nearby? I just get paranoid of curbs :paranoid: The Puente Hills mall?
Chris_88 10-08-2009, 11:41 PM The Puente Hills mall?
Yea I thought that was a good place, alot of space and no curbs or parallel parking :D
JcRox 10-09-2009, 12:00 AM That is very true but more of a chance of cop harassment there
I get paranoid when I see cops , they always find a way of giving me a ticket

JcRox 10-09-2009, 12:31 AM lol if you're not doing anything wrong then why are you paranoid?
Idk just.
But in All seriousness I seem to have bad luck with cops, usualy it's nothing big.
lol maybe it's cuz you're looking/acting all paranoid, they can smell that shit you know?
I'm faded around cops all the time and I don't give a shit, don't think they do either, never get hassled
woody4364 10-09-2009, 07:04 AM Yea we got too much attention at puente hills mall from the cops. But we can have meets there too if you guys want.
Honda247 10-09-2009, 07:11 AM We should just meet at the park and then go to the Mall for a photoshoot. I can't do any mods at the mall....:naughty:

haha im always in that state , they never once got me for that but other shit.lol
but i act calm when i see them or have an encounter with them.
but when there is a lot of nice cars, like at a meet they tend to stick around and hassle people.
at the last meet a cop came and told me to lower my radio because it was too loud. he was cool about it but still. it wasnt even loud.
CDsDontBurn 10-09-2009, 06:47 PM at this meet that's happening in a couple weeks, would it be cool if you guys helped me out with my end links for my car? :)
my front right is loose and i think my front left is starting to go out on me as well. since my car is lowered, should i get some aftermarket end links, or could i get some OEMs? if OEMs, could i get them from auto-zone or would it be recommended to get them from the dealer? how much should OEM end links go for?

Look up Moog brand end links. They are sweet. I stripped mine on my 2003 and replaced them both with Moog. They are much beefier looking (and hopefully stronger) than stock. Just make sure to borrow a grease gun to lubricate them as the boots are not sealed. Or go to a mechanic and give him a few $ to grease them for you.
I don't know if saturday will be good for me. Going to be real busy on the Rims. What about Next saturday? (Or this sunday)
I will keep this thread updated on being able to do the helping out or not

I'm just gonna get my coils installed at a local shop tomorrow. Don't you get alignments from a buddy's shop or something? Can you hook me up?
So how are your tires doing without camber kits?

Lol kk cool.
I do get alignments but he charges me ~$89 (He wont give me an alignment unless i get camber kits rofl, "Waste of Time/Money"
Tires seem to be doing just fine, before i went to get new ones, i checked the tread on the old 2, there was about maybe 1.5k Miles left on one side, while the other side had a bit of wire thread showing (Meaning its just about finished rofl)
When I get to do the front rims (paint black), I'll post how the tread is looking, those are the ones that will need to be changed next

Chris_88 10-10-2009, 10:35 PM Well I finally dropped my car today only like an inch for now until I get camber kits. The rear camber is really bad I need to get a camber kit and alignment asap. I plan on going ALOT lower when my kits come in which should be before the meet. Here are some phone pics
Honda247 10-10-2009, 10:40 PM Looks much better. Are you gonna get some splash guards too? If you do I can install them for you at the meet.

mystick6 10-12-2009, 08:59 PM Dont go Diode Dynamics. I did and I regret it. 3 blown LEDs and blew my driver side fuse in 2 weeks. Im going VLEDs now. A little more money but hopefully better.
Honda247 10-12-2009, 09:01 PM I'll check it out

True but they are over priced
Why not just do Custom Interior LEDs... buddy got 50 leds for $5 shipped on ebay. I used about 18 of them lol no zip ties -- soldering resistors and wiring em up :D I'll show at the meet, much MUCH cheaper than w/e the others are selling theirs for (It's just for plug and play and such, but you can just create your own for much much cheaper! :))
--Thing is.. it takes more time and effort, but is a lot more worth it, can fit 3 bulbs in the dome light (I did 2)
