maybe he meant a supercharger? dunno if they had those in the celica. on the plus side, your motor is 0.6 liters bigger.

I think he is referring to overdrive:

An overdrive is sometimes a separate unit that fits into the back of a gearbox, as with this Fairey unit. A plate warns to only engage the unit in third and fourth gears.Overdrive can refer to two different things. An overdrive is a device which was commonly used in automobiles to allow the choice of an extra-high overall gear ratio for high speed cruising, thus saving fuel, at the cost of less torque. Usually the final or top gear is called overdrive. Non direct drive gears increase torque multiplication at the expense of higher engine rpm and thus, decreased fuel economy.

It also refers to a combination of gearing inside a transmission or transaxle which results in the output speed being greater than the input speed. In the latter case, "overdrive" does not refer to a physically separate identifiable part/assembly.

i think hes talking about Lift, toyota's version of vtec. and his friend probably has a GT-S which uses the 2zz that has a pretty extreme lift kick.

EDIT: and for the sake of the board can we stop comparing the Accord to cars not even close to its class...whether it be a cobalt or an ls460

I'm betting it's one of those terms like VSA that every car company basically has or at least has a variation on, but they give it their own name. And if that's the case, this OP sounds like exactly the kind of person they hope to rope in with that sort of marketing, the kind of person who won't buy any other car other than <insert make here> because only they have SuperDrive.

Sweet. My Toyo's 3.3L has VVT-i. Somebody post a link where I can buy a "superdrive" badge for the liftgate.

Hmm. Superdrive, huh? Maybe there's a warp core or somethin in that Toyota. I heard Honda was working on something similar but with the air leak noises above 40mph - in the doors - they don't think it's a good idea to break the light barrier. :lmao:

Hi, I Recently purchased a Chevy 454 out of a 1993 Silverado Dually. Is there anyway I can swap this in my Honda and still keep V-TEC? Also, does anyone know if my gas mileage will diminish? I plan on using the same motor mounts, will post pics of the swap in progress!

SuperDrive is a trademark used by Apple Inc (usually installed DIY aftermarket), so I doubt it would be stock on your Accord.

Where is the button to activate vtec? Is it integrated into the steering wheel controls? The center console has a lot of buttons but I tried them all and none of them made the car go any faster... :dunno:
