Well ive been fighting the notorious 3rd gear grind for a while now in my 7th Gen accord 2.4. Finally 3rd gear will not even stay in gear with out me holding it there due to the synchos all mashed.

Yesterday i Finally found a deal enough to put a new tranny in. Picked up 2006 MT 5speed with 22k on it for 350 bucks. Now i figure while my car is apart ill put a new clutch and flywheel in.

I was looking at stage 3 kits (I will be turboing her soon) and was wondering if RSX type-S clutch and flywheel would work? whats different. Yes i know 6 speed to 5 speed but... they are both k series motors.

I know back in the day of my Honda Prelude Days all the h23 non vtec stuff worked with the h22 vtec parts.

Please let me know if you have any information regarding this. Thanks

Wow 350! Nice job. Yes, I believe it will mate up. But someone with more knowledge should confirm for you.

I thought only the V6 transmissions had issues...

That's for Autos, we are talking manuals here, hence the flywheel and clutch reference.

Dunno maybe. Clutch Masters list the same part number for the clutch kit they sell that includes the flywheel for both the 2.4L Accord and Acura RSX-S.

I could have sworn the 3rd gear TSB was only for the V6 6 speed models.
