Hey guys,
Have two quick questions. I have searched the form but didn't exactly get the answer.

1) My brother has a 2003 Accord Coupe 4cylinder AT (no track) and yesterday while he was driving, his brake light came on. It came and went away but now it wouldn’t go away. There wasn’t anything recently done to the brakes and brake fluid is fine also. He did try pulling and releasing his hand brake which didn't help. His car was on a hill and did roll back in neutral so maybe the back brakes are not applied or they are slightly. Has anyone had this issue and know what could be the problem?

2) I was thinking of changing brake fluid on my 04 Accord 6speed and someone on this website suggested that it's the same procedure if you have ABS or Not. I just wanted to confirm that because I know some people had issues with their ABS system. If it is done differently then does anyone know what the procedure would be?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

Bleed the brakes just like you would without ABS. The Helm service manual has no special bleeding proceedure for ABS brakes.

If you don't already have one, pick up one of these

http://www.amazon.com/Accord-2003-2007-Haynes-Repair-Manual/dp/1563927403

It has a pretty good description of bleeding your brakes. Should be able to find it at the local AutoZone or other automotive store in your area.

The brake light on the dash will turn on when one of the bulbs on the tail lights is burned out, shorted etc. That could be it.

Actually, Accord lost this function after 2002. Other than Hondas maybe with the MID (multi information display), not many of the current models have a lamp out indicator anymore.

Same with the factory manual, bleed as normal. Did my front brakes recently and did it the "normal" way and had no issues.

If you plan on keeping the car and plan on doing all the maintenance work yourself, I suggest the factory manual, about $70.

The Haynes manual is good enough for maintenance, and minor repairs. When you have to do some troubleshooting, the Helm manual is the ultimate problem finder. I had to pay $114 for the 03-05 Accord manual, and V6 supplement, back in 03, but they quickly paid for themselves, with diagnosis and maintenance information.

Thanks for responding guys... The Haynes manual for accords in my location has become a little difficult to get locally. I'll just order it from amazon. Thanks again.
