Today I realized the driver side rear foot-well and the area under the drivers seat was soaking wet. After checking further I noticed the foam on the bottom of the back seat was wet also. (This is a four door car) I water tested the doors extensively, yet I have not seen any water coming in. However, I did find water leaking around the taillights into the trunk. Any ideas? I am sure that I missed a key piece of information, so if you need more info please email me or post the question. Thanks, Phil

It could be the tail light seals have perished, do you have a sun roof on your car? the drain pipes could be stuffed up with dirt?

If there is water coming in around the tail lights, check in the spare tire well under the trunk floor. In our '89, water had pretty well filled up that space, and every time we sped up, or slowed down, the water would slosh around and get into the back seat area. A quick (but temporary) fix for this is to remove the plastic plug from the floor of the spare tire well. That will drain the water out, and keep any more from accumulating until you are able to replace the seals.

If the tail lights aren't the cure, then other places to look are the drain for sunroof equipped cars, around the rear wheel housings (the seals go bad, and the metal rots away) and around the rear windshield.
