I've owned my Gen7 Sedan for about 1 month now and love it. I have a friend that is interested in buying a used 2008+ Sedan 4cyl Auto trans. So under 30k miles is almost a must/expteted for it's age, probly a certified used Honda. Few Q's I have, please let me know of any other issues/things to look out for.

-MPG's. Are they good? I'm getting 30-32 combined with mine, but it's a stick and every now and then I get RPM crazy. Need to make sure a auto 4cyl driven by a mom/pop type person with a/c on can pull 30mpg's combined.

-Is it a good road-trip car for 4-5 adults of Avg build? Car is to be used for work & family. Clients etc.

-What are the trouble spots on the Gen8? Are the first few '08's bad? (I know ford had this issue with the Job ,aka batch, 1 of the 6.4L '08 F250's).

I'm a wrench head, and understand used cars are going to require work if you want every aspect of the car "within spec" and are totaly obsecive. But the person buying this car is by no means a mechanic. Gas, check tire pressure and schedule regular maintenace with a local mechanic or dealer. So making sure this "used" smart car won't become a nickel and dime pit. I guess I don't need to say, but the car will be left bone stock. No mods by any means. 87 octane gas... making sure theres not a snake under this basket before they buy it.

I thought you meant Pontiac G8 :lmao:. Sorry i have nothing to contribute to this thread, I have a coupe.

Actually, I've made road trips like that in my coupe, and was very comfy for everyone. I'm sure the sedan would be even better!

-MPG on average i get 38mpg combined i drive to school in San Francisco, so i think that is pretty good.
-Car is perfect for road trips the trunk is ridiculously big, i've taken 3 road trips from the SF Bay area to Los Angeles with 4 adults and couldn't be more comfortable.
-There are some trouble spots that i've heard of, personally i only had the premature brake wear, and a rear deck rattle.

Get the V6. Trust me, the fuel mileage between the I4 and the V6 is minimal.

especially on the highway when VCM is engaged most of the time.
