yeah, options leave lot to be desired

if you want v6 sedan, it has to be at least EX
if you want v6 coupe, it has to be at least EX-L
you can't get v6 sedan with manual
you can't get v6 sedan without VCM
you can't get v6 coupe without leather
you can't get I4 coupe with navi and manual
you can't get temperature gauge without leather
you can't get fog lights with I4
you can't get premium sound without leather
...
...

what's point of all this? cutting cost by not allowing customer to buy extra options?

they're trying to push people to buy the higher trims.

its easier and cheaper to make the car in factory of a higher trim then customize lower trim cars to each customers individual needs... you want most of what the next trim offers you just buy the higher trim... way for them to save on cost, as well as make more money cause ppl since they can't add to a lower trip HAVE to go up a trim level if they have their heart set on something...

if adding a particular feature AND not wanting other features to a lower trimed car is still cheaper than getting that higher trim featured car, then i'd ask the dealership to install that particular feature for me. and if they don't want to, i'll buy the car from another dealership that will.

if dealerships want to get (earn?) consumer's money, then they will bend over backwards for what the consumer desires in terms of features.
