Please forgive my ignorance, but what is a sway bar for? Helps to reduce or increase what? Can I put it in any accord model (sedan '05)? Do I need a qualified shop for the job? I am lost. Please comment about your experiences.

It's used for limiting the left and right (swaying) motions of the car while you're turning. The helps to keep the car more level and give the car a better feel for the road.

If you got an I4, a TL sway bar may have some clearance issues with the rear muffler hanger. You don't need a shop to do it.. It's only 6 bolts you need to remove and replace to install a new one and you probably don't need to lift the car up.

I have been searching on the internet but found only swaybars for models up to 2002. Where can I buy swaybars for my accord sedan 2005?

If you want a direct fit, search for comptech sway bar on ebay...
Comptech is said to be the best fitting, "honda-approved" aftermarket sway bar on the market.

Unless you like to drive fast on twisty roads, you DO NOT need to change it.

But then, how people say is like a night and day difference?
I do not drive on twisty roads, but sometimes I take the highway, and here in Mexico roads are very curved.

Those guys from Comptech in ebay have bars for accords up to 2002... any other suggestions?

Any idea where can I find more material related to whether or not to install a swaybar?

Thanks all for replying!
Sal

If you check the thread that SSMV6 listed you will find that the sways bars come from any Acura Dealer

The best way I can sum it up is Your Honda handles more like a BMW by changing sway bars

The Acura TSX uses the exact same bar, so you can use comptech one listed for it on ebay as well.

If you have a v6 sedan, you should be able to use an OEM acura TL bar per the thread previously listed, but it is NOT the same curve as the accord/TSX bar.
I'm going to run the comptech bar on my 05 I4 sedan when I get around to ordering it. You can order direct from comptech by the way.

When I rotated the tires on the Accord I looked over the sway bar and links. About the size of my pinky finger. Wife even looked at it and commented how cute it was. She asked if I was going to change it out. Told her no. Si has one for its intended use. lmao
