What kind of, and where did you get your dash cover? I just got a DashMat and it doesn't seem to want to form itself around the large hump on the drivers side.

I have a dashmat brand.... fits my 05 coupe OK...

Dash Covers are a BAD idea in newer cars with airbags. Yes they have the flaps and all. But I really don't think anyone would like the dash cover to be in the way of the Airbag which is there to save lives. Not to blow dash pads in your face. Just a thought.

In all the airbag deployments I've seen... there has never been one where the dashmat was a problem.

I agree with accord4life. I don't really care for any loose objects on my dash that can fly up during an airbag deployment. If you are concerned about the dash gettting hot and cracking over a period of years, just use an insulated sunscreen. It will keep the car cooler and heat off the dash.

I do use a sunscreen, but here in AZ the sun is pretty strong during the summer.

Just the times you drive can make the dash hotter than the sun.........


I would not consider not having a sun screen and dash mat.

In all the airbag deployments that had that small hole on the right, the airbag went thru it, no problem.

In the cars where the entire dash lifts for the passenger airbag, the dashmat just rose with the dash.

The company here in AZ will install it for the customer, they use a steamer (clothes steamer) to get the mat to form fit the dash.

I live in AZ too and totally agree with you!! :thmsup: Dash cover is a MUST in AZ no matter you like it or not.. sun screen can't help much here in summer.
