: Like Ice Cube said, "Today was a good day"
el Vato 09-22-2009, 08:11 PM I went out for lunch. I was driving over to First Wok in Sunnyvale for some Chinese food. I was waiting to make a left turn from El Camino Real onto Bernardo. I could see a group of construction guys all huddled up like they always are, 5 surrounding 1 or 2 who are really doing the real work of digging. One of those guys turns around and stares at me or my car, I hadn't made the distinction yet. The light turns green and I'm turning towards them. As I'm getting closer the guy staring yells out, "that is sick!" I nod my head as a thanks since that was my first instinct. He caught me off guard. I didn't expect a yell that loud. Before startling me, I thought ok he must like my car and he's just going to give it a look. However the yell threw me off. I had my windows down and I could've said thanks but the surprise sort of embarrassed me. All in all, the event lifted my spirits. I wasn't exactly in a happy mood. The guy that yelled doesn't know how good that made me feel. Now it's time to Pay-it-Forward.
Any of you gone through something similar lately?

mystick6 09-22-2009, 08:14 PM Is that the lowest setting on the GC's?
GTFan712 09-22-2009, 08:19 PM Somewhat. I was at the dealer for my oil change, and when I handed the car over to the Service Specialist, he gave me a nice comment about my interior lights. He asked where I had them installed. I told them I did them myself, and he seemed surprised.
Maybe it's the fact that half the people who see them call them rice, but having a compliment come from a guy who works for Honda, from something that only cost $60 and a few hours of labor was pretty neat.

vtxcraziexboi 09-22-2009, 08:27 PM ummm people at honda tells me it looks nice, and i got a few people just gives me thumbs up and 1 guy actually rolled down his window at a red light and said nice car and smiled n looked really excited lol.. i just said thanks n smiled and drove off. oh and the grass cutting guy. lmao
JcRox 09-22-2009, 09:02 PM always makes my day when i get a compliment on my car.
greatest feeling a car owner can get imo
el Vato 09-22-2009, 09:13 PM Is that the lowest setting on the GC's?
No but the stock shocks lose their dampening force the lower you go. I can easily tuck my wheels in the wells.
DANGEROUS 09-22-2009, 10:33 PM im gottah stop driving my corolla so i can get some compliments.
BillyR06 09-23-2009, 01:29 AM sometimes it happens to me, I just love driving around with my halos on and seeing other coupes with their passengers pointing at my headlights always makes me smile

L's TLS 09-23-2009, 04:19 AM I just bought a Vizio TV from Walmart the otherday and on the way out to my car I see like 3 guys making ooo's and ahhhh"s at my car. And as they are walking away that say "man those are so sick, I'm gona get one" LOL My car in outer appearance is bone stock except for tint.

I actually went to Caesar over at lightwerkz...I didn't get a retrofit, I really wanted too but couldn't afford it at the time.
I just added the 4 halos and hid to the stock projectors

MotorCity Honda 09-23-2009, 11:01 AM Everytime I go to the dealer they always make a comment on how my car looks better than new... it has 16X,XXX miles on it! Not a swirl to be found. Engine compartment, door jambs, interior carpet.. clean as a whistle - They also comment on how nice the 8th gen wheels look on my 7th gen.
I went to a autobody repair shop looking for a small scrap panel to do some peoduct testing on and the guy saw my car and said "damn that's shiny, looks like you have multiple layers of clear on that bad boy"... I :D!

how much did it cost? did you just shop your lights over to him?
Indubitably 09-23-2009, 11:56 AM ^ no he lives near lightwerkz
Big LrG 09-23-2009, 12:10 PM I had a situation where I was crusing through Downtown Detroit to celebrate one of my friends b-day and a LP-640 pulls up on the side of me. Of course i complement the car cause its just soo beatiful. He revs it and it sounds soo crisp. I rev mines as a joke (I have INJEN Intake (In Sig.) installed) and he asks me what type of car it was, complements the sound and the design of the car. That right made my night! A guy in a $600,000+ car complementing a $30,000 car is just unbelieveable!
Danielc409 09-23-2009, 12:12 PM Did you smoke his ass of the line? ;)
jkcheng122 09-23-2009, 12:37 PM This does remind me of the time I took my car to the car wash for interior cleaning as it was full of my dog's hair (culprit in avatar). The guy that took the car said, "nice car" and it made me feel pretty good.
Got quite a few compliments too at work.
Helio 09-23-2009, 01:00 PM I live in the S'Vale too, at least you got props, we have alot of HATERS around here.
danieldigs 09-23-2009, 01:02 PM Best one so far, a guy at a Chrysler dealership was standing looking at the side of my car, notice the "H" Center caps in the wheels and said, "That's a F***ing Honda? - I love the color." Never got that with the Grand Prix:D
BillyR06 09-23-2009, 02:29 PM how much did it cost? did you just shop your lights over to him?
like Indubitably said, i live 10 min away from lightwerkz so i just took my car there at 9am picked it up around 3pm (i think) as far as what i paid for...when i took my car there i got a bunch of stuff done but if i can remember i think all 4 halos were 100, plus you would have to pay for shipping and for the install

Ahh man, you should return that badboy (the TV) and wait a couple more weeks, trust me, look into the new Vizio's coming out (the one i want model # SV472XVT) Well worth the wait if you ask me and feature rich!! :notworthy
Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread...
weibskreuz 09-23-2009, 02:50 PM My godfather's daughter just bought a 2009 MB C300 with sport package. I went to meet them when he came to visit her to check out her new car. When he first saw it in the garage he was like "Hmm, it's nice", then he saw my coupe next to the benz and went "WHOAAAAA" LOL
priceless indeed :P
singhisme 09-30-2009, 06:23 PM my dad bought a new accord 3 days ago for both of us, sso i took it to school and the first comment i got was nice car from a random girl walking by, it just made my day:banana:
My06EXL 09-30-2009, 07:04 PM A perfect stranger (guy in his 60's) in a toyota minivan pulled up to me at a stop light and motioned for me to roll my window down. I was saying to myself what the hell did I do now. He then said "how do you like your car". I replied that it's awesome to drive and he said "I'm hoping to get one soon and bye the way your car is very clean". Wow, that made my day. :D
blueCP2 10-18-2009, 03:29 PM the samething happen to me when i was picking up my bro gf at work. i pulled into the wearhouse parking lot, and the parking lot is kinda big too! so once i entered the parking lot i saw a guy in the same accord, color and everything like mines! but his was stock. i saw him from the destance getting out of his car locking it and standing next to his car and he was eye balling my car from the destance. when i drove pass him he yelled "your car is sick!" kinda made me jumped a lil cuz he was right next to my window lmao then he walked inside the warehouse.. but i thought it was kinda funny how he just stand out there waiting for me to drive by him just to check out my car and complement on it. lol but it makes me feel good when they like your work! makes spending all that money worth it!
dirtycustoms 10-18-2009, 03:47 PM I used to get that all the time when I first got it, but back then, there werent many on the road at all up here. Actually, when I got it(10-15-07) the dealership told me that it was the first one in the region and the only one for another month. Might explain it. :-)
stevencrosbie 10-18-2009, 04:00 PM im gottah stop driving my corolla so i can get some compliments.
Ditto.....only drive the Tundra on the weekends or when I can't stand driving a car during the week.

they'll tell you anything to buy a car :lmao:
Earlier Yesterday, Saturday, I was driving to my buddy's house and on my way to the freeway, a Veyron Blue/Black is going the opposite direction, I look over to see the driver, and the driver is staring at the car! Dude looked like he was in his late 40's too lol I guess he likes the full black style :D
Then before the Team Inspire meet, filling up gas, a couple of guys walk by and say, "Damn! Thats the nicest car in the whole parking lot!" And I was startled to hear that because I haven't heard that before haha. Was next to a Lexus IS350 and a CLK Mercedes too haha TAKE THAT! Toyota and Mercedes, Honda Wins! haha :naughty:
Indubitably 10-19-2009, 01:10 AM I think Honda did a VERY good job with the 8th gen coupe styling especially.. but yeah, gotta love it when your car gets complimented.. or when you see people staring at it while you drive :)
